Damned Healer-Chapter 581: Eternity To Try

Lying on a wooden bed that was now completely broken, Darian calmly opened his eyes.

He felt a gaze and a warmth close to his body, and, when he looked at his own arm, he saw a pair of amber eyes softly staring at him.

They exchanged intense looks and feelings for a few seconds, in silence.

Then Darian took a deep breath and felt a strange burning sensation. Looking over his own body, he noticed it was covered in sharp bite marks that still caused a faint pain; now, he was sure that everything that had happened before hadn't been a dream.

Niara, on the other hand, had white skin and was completely intact as before… or almost, because now she gave off a different glow, as if she had light of her own.

Her aura had also changed, with a Yang presence three times greater than before. That had come from Darian and had been fully absorbed by her body, along with many other things.

A soft laugh came from Niara. Both of them were quite tired, even after sleeping for a long time. The reason for that…

Darian felt something new inside his own body, his eyes widening.

Inside his four cores, there were small pulsing runes. They were full of power, and when he felt them, he was surprised, drawing in his origin.

It was mental, spiritual, vital, and draconic Bloodline power.

Those runes came from Niara's four cores. He looked into those amber eyes, and she nodded calmly.

"I also got a bit of your stuff…" she murmured, her gaze turning slightly seductive.

Darian took a deep breath, understanding. The name of the technique, "The Ninth Zenith," wasn't for nothing. He and Niara each created four cores, so they could share the power of their cores in a very… physical way.

Niara could activate that same thing inside her own core and use Darian's abilities, without him needing to lose his own resources to give them to her.

As for him, being the only one who possessed the rings of a Spiritual Guardian — which was the ninth core of the technique — he could activate its maximum power.

That technique was a complex and terrifying work by his master. Making nine different types of power work together sounded impossible. Not to mention that if Darian had to create and evolve the eight cores alone, it would take an immense amount of time, and he would probably be killed before that.

So Niara taking half the work was fair, benefiting both of them. She was his partner in everything now, binding them completely forever.

From the beginning, because of the contract, both of them could already use each other's power perfectly. At first, Niara only used what Darian gave her; but now she had already developed her own strength. With this new addition, she could once again use Darian's abilities as an extra.

"These runes have limited power, and after we use them, neither of us can replenish them alone…" Niara continued, her eyes shining. The meaning was clear: whenever they were forced to use that, they would have to unite again and work hard to create more.

In short, Darian had two new single-use weapons. One was activating the Ninth Zenith and burning the power coming from Niara.

The other was using the power of the Origin again. That had terrifying and incomparable potential, but it was also very risky to use, depending on the situation. After all, Darian would end up in a half-dead state, and Niara would have to act quickly on her own, escaping with him.

After using one or both of those, to recover, they would need to spend a few days on a *special mission*, away from the world.

"Since it's come to this… let's make everything official at once. You're a princess, after all, so you should get married properly," Darian murmured, looking her in the eyes.

Niara trembled. Then she moved a little closer to him, an indescribable smile on her face. All of her feelings overflowed through the connection between them, hitting Darian head-on.

With that… the exhaustion of both of them vanished completely.

A few hours later, Darian woke up again. Niara was still sleeping, and this time, he quickly got out of bed, or he would be abducted by her forever.

He knew where he was; Niara had brought him back to the Divine Protection Universe. Fortunately, each year in that universe was equivalent to one day in the Universe of Heaven's Will.

The Rank S mission had been completed perfectly by him, so the passage to that universe would remain open for seven days. As for the time difference between those two universes, it had likely been temporarily equalized by Heaven's Will, so the system could work perfectly.

Niara had brought him to this place immediately after his victory, and only a few days had passed for him. So Darian didn't need to rush to return. He could stay there for up to six years and, when he returned, he would still have one day left.

He reflected on everything seriously. Now that Vanh was dead, he needed to return to Earth and deliver the final blow.

For that to happen without fearing a counterattack from the Spiritual Sovereigns, he had to take advantage of those days in the other universe. A very bold plan formed in his mind.

Quickly, he took the fragments of the Primordial Beads he had obtained from the three Divinities of that universe out of his inventory. On top of that, he had received complete knowledge about them.

Darian reviewed all the information in his mind. Then, he moved his chaos power toward those fragments.

Slowly, he managed to fuse those things into a single whole. It wasn't difficult at all, and Divinity had told him it was something simple to do.

After a few hours, he clenched his hand and felt, excited, his Primordial Bead perfectly complete.

"Great, now I need to learn how to adapt its power to the human body."

He murmured, his eyes shining. With that, his plan had the potential to work perfectly. Unfortunately, at that moment, he could only create it for the human race, since he was human and could use his own body to run the tests.

Days passed slowly. Soon they turned into months and, before he realized it, years.

It took much longer than Darian expected, because… he couldn't stay focused on his studies for even half a day.

He was always drawn to Niara. The two of them seemed hypnotized, as if they needed to practice that dual technique or they would die tragically... so, full of desire, they made a huge effort to practice until they felt they were becoming masters at it.

In short, the two of them enjoyed their time together, isolated on that planet, to the fullest.

It was three full years.

Until, finally, Darian completed the adaptations of the Primordial Bead for humans.

That was what the Spiritual Guardians would call a Supreme Artifact, something from another universe, with terrifying and unpredictable power.

After one last intense farewell and a long night of sleep, the two of them finally said goodbye to that small earthen house.

Darian and Niara were holding hands, and both seemed to emit a unique aura, completely mixed with one another.

After taking the first steps outside, Darian turned to Niara and saw her gaze a bit distant.

She noticed his look and snapped out of it. Then, she smiled faintly.

"It was three years without stopping, day after day… but it looks like it really will be quite difficult…" she said, her voice light.

Darian snorted, understanding. Even though Darian was a complete human and Niara only half of that, her draconic Bloodline was known for being terrifyingly powerful, but proportionally difficult when it came to producing descendants.

Darian hadn't even worried about that during those years, since he knew it would be a miracle if it happened. As for Niara, it wasn't like she wanted that right now, but thinking about that troublesome fact left her a bit lost in thought.

"Eventually, we'll stop being mortals; then we'll have eternity to try," Niara said calmly, not really caring.

Darian immediately tensed up because Niara had just repeated a phrase almost identical to one spoken by Meru's mother in that book. Apparently, Niara and her were quite similar… and Heaven's Will had gone through a lot because of that.

Darian took a deep breath, putting that aside.

Then, he admired the unique vegetation of that planet. Now, that place was marked with unforgettable memories for both of them. He definitely wouldn't allow people to be sent there to live; he would turn that place into his home in that universe.

Niara agreed with those thoughts. Since she could always return there with him whenever she wanted, that place would be where they could connect deeply.

"Let's go," Darian said, and Niara nodded.

Quickly, Darian used her power to open the spatial channel back to his universe.

Without delay, both of them crossed through.

On the other side, they were above the planet Dharma. The couple landed softly, as Aurix approached with a very surprised look.

Darian heard that the mission had been declared a success a little over three days ago, and no one had returned yet. Aurix hadn't sent anyone to the place since Darian had told him to do nothing and wait for orders.

"Prepare the strongest concealment artifacts you can get. When everyone comes back, no one outside can find out anything about them," Darian said to Aurix in a very serious tone.

After that, he asked Aurix for some very specific things, which he knew were easy and quick to obtain.

In less than two hours, he received everything. Then, the couple went to the planet's Celestial Altar. There, the channel to that universe was open. They quickly stepped inside without looking back.
