Damned Healer-Chapter 596: Terrible Premonition
On Earth, the entire population was covered by a blinding light. But no damage was caused. Even so, a terrible and extremely loud sound was heard by everyone. The entire defensive inscription lost more than 90% of its power after absorbing that.
It was seven Spiritual Sovereigns attacking with almost everything they had, together with an army of thousands of immortals and the terrifying power of the Eightfold Celestial Path, used by Niara to the limit.
The shockwaves from the two major clashes could be clearly felt throughout the entire universe.
Several seconds later, the light and the world's normal colors began to return. Slowly, space-time started to stabilize.
Niara opened her eyes, feeling a comfortable warmth run through her muscles. Darian was gently holding her in his arms, healing her, while they moved quickly closer to Earth.
The entire immortal army was thrown to the opposite side of the clash. Then Lucy acted swiftly, opening Earth's barrier for everyone to enter and closing it before the wave of power could hit everything.
The Immortal Keepers were hurled far away, all of them covered in blood and seriously injured. Fortunately, no one died. Now, they could no longer help again.
As for the four allied Spiritual Sovereigns, surprisingly, Caliris, Painita, and Aurix were completely intact, only slightly out of breath.
Around them was a subtle aura that distorted the space nearby. Right behind the three stood Czaza, fully focused. She possessed a support-type blessing, capable of strengthening allies and greatly increasing everyone's overall power, at a high cost to her own strength.
Adding that to the power of her eyes, which allowed her to use a secret technique only Heavenly Beasts could, letting her move instantly between universes using the laws, she became a perfect support who didn't need protection.
Because of that, she used her blessing on the three, and they suffered almost no damage.
In front of them, less than ten kilometers from Earth's barrier.
Three figures stood side by side, coldly staring ahead.
Reignar and Guren had their bodies covered in blood, but they managed to endure. Those injuries didn't come from enemy attacks, but from using their own immortal power.
Haekla's soul was now covered in even more cracks, with a golden light that was almost extinguished. Now, all three of them had their souls terribly injured, at least twice as bad as before.
But it was worth it.
Now, they had reunited. And they were also certain they had uncovered all of Darian's greatest weapons.
They could only snort, accepting that that missionary was the most terrifying opponent they had ever faced. Creating more than four thousand immortals out of nothing, and even a new Spiritual Sovereign? Even if they wanted to, they didn't have the capacity to do even 1% of that.
On top of that, what kind of abnormal and completely incomprehensible power was that which the Dragoness used? Her attack could definitely kill an immortal if they were caught off guard.
Darian was the same. Elpen, an experienced Spiritual Sovereign, had been fooled by Darian into thinking he couldn't do anything. As a result, he was brutally killed by his power.
Darian and Niara returned and took their positions.
The immortal army remained inside the barrier. Now they had become useless, since the power of the two treasures had been exhausted. Fortunately, those things could recover after a long time.
Lucy moved to the edge of the barrier and stopped beside Alear, who stared outside, clenching her fists, extremely tense.
Now only Darian, Niara, and the four Spiritual Sovereigns remained.
But...
Alear saw an almost imperceptible glint in Darian's eyes. At that moment, she was sure. The three enemies uniting at that instant, after suffering heavy damage and serious wounds, was actually one of the stages of Darian's plan.
Lucy, noticing this realization in Alear, sighed. That young woman could read Darian and the twins like an open book. It had always been like that... even long before she was born. The reason was obvious; she already knew them very well from another life.
"Missionary..." Reignar's voice echoed, this time clearly a bit hoarse and lacking the brilliance and energy from before. "Your plans were bold and surprising. But unfortunately for you, it all ends here."
The four allied Spiritual Sovereigns moved, surrounding the three.
Darian, meanwhile, stared at them completely without emotion. He knew he couldn't win that fight, so he had set up an entire scheme, aiming for the same result he had achieved against the Celestial Shadow.
He needed to buy time. To do that, he would have to exploit those enemies' arrogance to injure them brutally, forcing them to recover and leaving him alone.
Darian abused his knowledge and the things he had obtained. That way, he managed to create the necessary pieces to surprise the three several times. The result was perfect, but the final checkmate was still missing.
"You still have the strength to talk? You were so arrogant before, but now you look like you're suffering pretty badly, huh?"
Darian mocked them, clearly sensing the fluctuations from the three, who were enduring an absurd amount of pain in their souls. Their eyes and expressions sank when they heard that.
They didn't respond. They just nodded, and an intense glow appeared in their eyes.
Niara narrowed her eyes. That was power coming from the Immortal Chaos Essence. They hadn't fused with it, but devoured it, releasing a malevolent power that should not belong to them. It made her feel deep disgust.
In the next second, three spatial channels opened in front of them.
From inside...
"!"
A deathly Yin and a terrifying primordial aura surged out like a wave. Those portals seemed connected to a sea of those things, which poured out endlessly.
Darian snorted. In the three universes they had destroyed, there were likely Primordial Beasts that had been killed.
Aurix, Painita, and Caliris sensed something terrible and moved immediately, attacking with everything they had. But...
The three enemies waved their hands with cold expressions.
*BANG!*
All that power was easily controlled by them, redirected to strike the attackers like a devastating blast.
They weren't injured, but they were thrown far away, very far into space, leaving the solar system, unable to stop their bodies for a long time.
After that, the three enemies waved again. Then countless runes flowed out from the spatial channels, connecting to one another.
Lucy, inside the barrier, widened her eyes. That looked like an inscription. But it wasn't just any inscription, it was something at the immortal level, using...
"They refined the entire bodies and power of three different Primordial Beasts!" Lucy exclaimed. Then, immediately, everything connected in her mind.
In the training universe, there had been many traitor Spiritual Guardians, so many that it seemed endless.
The worst part was that throughout the entire history of the Spiritual Guardians in that universe, those traitors had helped the Risen Lords in many different ways. They had even managed to send treasures and things from other universes to help them. How they did that was a mystery, but it was likely the work of some kind of blessing.
Why would they do that? Obviously, to help the Celestial Shadow recover as quickly as possible.
Those three Spiritual Sovereigns wanted that Primordial Beast to truly return and devour that entire universe, becoming even stronger.
This help from the three, and now this inscription using precisely the power of Primordial Beasts, made the future of the Celestial Shadow very clear.
They were confident enough to help fatten up a Primordial Beast and, after it was ready, kill it and use it.
Darian, watching everything beside Niara, understood the same thing. He had now discovered the reason for all the chaos in that other universe. As usual... greed.
They hadn't just destroyed the three universes they devoured, they also intended to destroy that other one that all the Spiritual Guardians were trying to save, and much more...
*Buzz!*
The world buzzed. All the runes of that terrifying inscription formed a large pulsing circle in multiple colors, with connected lines crossing at the center. From afar, it looked like a pentagram.
Everything formed in mere seconds. Darian didn't move because he already had a very obvious hypothesis about the function of that sinister inscription.
The three turned toward Darian, dark smiles on their faces.
Reignar spoke with a rough voice, "It's over. Don't worry, you won't die that easily. We'll make proper use of every gram of your existence and power."
Darian heard the first part indifferently.
"As for that Dragoness... she'll also be very useful. She's half human, so she should work."
When he heard that last part, Darian's gaze changed instantly.
"Confident, huh? Looks like you didn't learn anything. Since you've got the guts to say that, don't blame me for being ruthless."
Darian spat, murderous intent taking over him. That was his Achilles' heel, and his emotions completely went out of control.
Niara sighed, but internally, she was quite satisfied. Darian was almost always like an impenetrable glacier to his enemies... almost always, because he completely lost control when someone close to him was hurt or threatened.
"HAHAHAHAH..." Guren laughed ferociously.
The three didn't waste time. Together, they waved, commanding that inscription.
At that exact moment, the space-time around Darian and Niara froze.
They felt as if several mountains were pressing down on them from all directions. They couldn't move a single muscle, completely trapped in place.
Then suddenly, a cage of primordial light appeared and closed around them.
In the next second, their world went dark. Darian and Niara felt themselves inside complete emptiness. The sensation was identical to when they crossed universes.
Darian took a deep breath, holding Niara's hand tightly at his side. One felt the warmth of the other, transmitting immense comfort and security between them.
He was calm, already expecting something like this. Stopping it or destroying the runes of that inscription was impossible. Any attempt would result in a counterattack capable of killing even an immortal.
He could only accept being imprisoned.
But...
"PAPA! MAMA!"
A female scream of complete despair echoed in Darian and Niara's ears.
Both felt their hearts race uncontrollably, seized by a terrible premonition.
Niara roared in terror: "NO!"
**KBOOOOOM!!!**
