Chapter 59: Itai Adventurer

"You’ll have it within a day at most," she said.

"Heh, well thank you. Can I go?" Itai asked, to which the receptionist nodded.

Itai walked through the Adventurers’ Guild—nearly everyone was looking at him. They assumed this young man would have a bright future. Even though he was currently weak, if someone were to provoke him and he became powerful in the future, it wouldn’t end well for that person.

Many of them wanted him in their group even though he was weak, because it was an investment into the future. But of course, there were also those who cursed him for having such luck, since talent was considered to be purely about luck.

As Itai approached the exit door, a tall man in black armor stopped him. "Hey redhead, you look older," he said.

"My name’s Ing, and I’m stage 4. Want to join our group?" he asked.

"Sorry, but no," Itai said and walked away.

Itai then returned home to Flain’s basement. When he got there, he saw Flain sitting against the wall.

"Hmh, Flain?" Itai mumbled.

Flain, who was currently deeply focused on creating acid, flinched and was pulled out of the dimension.

"If I’m in a state like that, don’t even think about interrupting me. Something could happen that would seriously piss me off," Flain said.

"Hey, relax. I just came to say I became an adventurer," Itai said.

"Hmh, and did any problems arise?" Flain asked.

"Well, I attracted a lot of attention because of my talent," Itai said.

"Hmh, and how did you find it out—and why did you announce it?" Flain asked, now visibly irritated.

"Well, I found out by placing my hand on this orb, it lit up, and the receptionist told me I had a A talent and that it was good. And I had to put it in the form," Itai said.

"Describe exactly what you wrote down," Flain said.

Then Itai described precisely what he had written.

"Why did you put rogue if you chose brain as your main part? Rogue focuses on speed, which comes from the body. Other than that, you couldn’t have messed up much—luckily," Flain said.

"Yeah, that didn’t occur to me," Itai said.

"But the biggest problem is the attention. The question is: how much attention?" Flain said.

At the very top of the Adventurers’ Guild was a large room. The room was majestic and filled with many expensive decorations. A long red carpet covered the floor, and at the end stood a desk behind which sat a woman with her legs crossed.

The woman was tall and wore a gray coat. She had long dark blue hair and ice-blue eyes, one of which was covered by an eye patch. She looked very similar to the receptionist downstairs.

A tall man with long white hair and black eyes entered the room. "Overseer, we have important news," the man said.

"Hmm, let me guess—someone defected to the army again?" the Overseer said.

"No. A talented adventurer with a A talent has appeared," the man said.

"There’s a high probability he’ll join the army, like everyone else. Depends on his personality. Give me his information," said the Overseer.

The man then handed the Overseer Itai’s form. "Honestly, I’d recommend sending Xyan to gather information on him," the man said.

The Overseer looked over the form. "Hmh, a rogue whose main part is the brain? What kind of nonsense is that," she muttered.

"I agree. Send a spy to assess him," said the Overseer.

"And who will be his assistant?" the Overseer asked.

"Your sister," the man replied.

"Ariel? Well, that’s going to be difficult, but try to convince her to befriend him," said the Overseer.

"I doubt that’ll work. Ariel is Ariel," the man said.

Itai was once again standing in front of the Adventurers’ Guild. A day had passed since he filled out the form. He entered inside, and after a moment, many eyes were watching him. The rumor had already spread that an adventurer with talent A had appeared—Morborn had noticed it as well.

Itai stood in line, and while waiting, a few people tried to recruit him into their group, but Itai refused, saying he was already in a group.

"You are accepted. You’ve just become an adventurer. From now on, I’m your assistant, Ariel. If you ever need to find out something, you can rely on me," she said coldly.

Days went by, and EXP was flowing into Flain’s vault even faster. Eventually, a whole month passed. Itai went into a dungeon every day and killed monsters. He found out that each adventurer could only stay in a dungeon for 2 hours a day—this was so that everyone would have something to hunt. But since there were three nearby dungeons around the Imperial City, it didn’t bother him. He also discovered that each dungeon was different.

The first dungeon he entered as an adventurer was dungeon 11, which only had humanoid monsters. Itai never once encountered anything on four legs there. So far, this was his favorite dungeon.

His second favorite was dungeon 5, which was located directly in the Imperial City. Since dungeons could appear in any empty space, one had formed inside a house—this was the case with this dungeon. Itai constantly walked through nearly identical rooms there. This dungeon only contained monsters that could use ice magic, which was extremely annoying but still manageable, since Zheren could break out of the ice fairly well.

The third and most dangerous dungeon for Itai was dungeon 15. This dungeon was the farthest from the Imperial City and had truly terrifying monsters. All the monsters in that dungeon could explode when on the brink of death, causing massive damage around them and also destroying their corpse. More than once, Zheren was left in a terrible state because of this, and his armor got destroyed. Few adventurers entered that dungeon, so at least the corpses of the monsters there sold for a good price...
