Descending Into A Novel-Chapter 118:City of Creatures (16)
"..?"
Audrina turned her head slightly. Staring at a certain white-haired boy, right now. His body was emitting a very familiar scent.
Ignoring the attempts at conversation, she started walking towards him. Up to the point her nose was nearly buried in his chest.
’This scent...demonic energy?’
As a demon, there were two ways to grow stronger. Rely on the natural growth of a demon, or absorb more demonic energy. Similar to angels.
But the first method took too long, and the second method was dangerous. Due to the property of demonic energy that made emotions rampage, Audrina had to constantly manage her emotions.
Not that it mattered, here in the human realm. She couldn’t even find any demonic energy to absorb, compared to the demonic realm where it was plentiful. Sometimes being thick enough to make the air feel solid.
"Audrina? A lot of people are looking at us right now."
Right, she had been sniffing his body for a bit too long now. Humans didn’t do such a thing.
"...I apologize."
Later that night, Thomas put on his sleeping mask and lied down onto his bed. Falling asleep within minutes.
The moment he did so however, a shadow in the corner of his room shook. Before a hooded figure jumped out, a hungry gaze locked into his sleeping body. Her expression slightly flushed as she looked down upon him.
Standing over him, she felt herself salivating already. Her breath growing hot, eyes like a pair of smouldering coals—dimly glowing in the dark.
She put her hand to his face, thick black fog spilling out of her palm before being inhaled into his body.
Seeing him fall into an even deeper sleep, her hands felt around his body. Unbuttoning his shirt and revealing his toned body. His fair skin and looks would have made any normal girl swoon, but she wasn’t exactly normal.
Yet it wasn’t that she was looking for.
Climbing onto the bed, Audrina lied down on top of him. Already feeling her body absorb some of the demonic energy and grow stronger. The electrifying sensation sending shivers throughout her body. Her emotions were already starting to go slightly berserk, she would have to undergo meditation for a long while after this.
But it wasn’t enough, at this rate. It would take her days to fully absorb everything. He might fully recover from his injury in that time, then all of the demonic energy would dissipate into thin air!
She wiped some of the saliva from her mouth. Baring her fangs, she bit into his shoulder. Drawing blood and drinking it up.
Ah~!
Feeling the warm blood trickling down her throat, she let out a muffled moan.
Despite the danger that would happen if she was caught. Right now, she only wished she could stay like this for longer.
But she could already feel the demonic energy growing thin. There wasn’t much in the first place, and she had already absorbed most of it.
Licking her lips, she stared regretfully at the sleeping figure. Before buttoning his shirt back and escaping through the crack under the door.

Sienna frowned, putting her pen onto her desk and taking a moment to collect herself.
She didn’t know when, but at some point in her small side job of being Raymond’s instructor. She had developed a sort of sixth sense, one that was specifically for Raymond.
Forcing out two hours of her schedule to teach him only for him to skip. Causing her more work. Doing dangerous things without asking for her advice. Just being flat-out rude and annoying.
All of them would activate this Raymond sense, except for the last one. Sienna was pretty sure that was just a regular headache.
"...what did he do this time," she muttered.
Just then, a call came in on her phone. The private number of an individual like her was something that only a few people had access to, so she could usually tell who it was without even seeing the name.
A bad feeling arose in her, screaming at her that if she took this call. She would have to delay her sleep for another few hours.
"Hello?"
"Hello instructor! This might be a bit awkward given the time, but can we talk? Like in person, I kinda have something I need your help with."
Strange, Sienna had clearly remembered telling him that he could always ask her for help. But now that he actually was asking her for help, she really didn’t want to!
Knowing he probably got himself into another situation however, she sighed.
"Where are you? I’ll meet you there."
Teleporting to the location, Sienna found Raymond sitting beside Ellen. Opposite him was a woman around the same age as herself and a child with red hair sitting on her lap.
"Who is this?"
"Maybe I should start from the beginning. It will be easier to explain that way."
For the next hour, Sienna sat and listened as Raymond narrated on the events of what happened in the past few days. Finding the secret laboratory, finding a demon, raiding and killing said demon.
Sienna put her face into her hands, "Do you...have any conscience left?"
She could understand some of the reasonings behind their actions. They were visitors in the Mercia Family territory after all. They also were young and stupid, with a sense of justice to do good. Especially that Zachary boy, the complaints she received while talking to his instructor could fill entire books.
But it was just a simple mission...it was easy to do, and they got to spend a few days in Mirovia City. Which was in the top ten list of travel destinations on Terra. She got to spend a few days with a lighter workload, it was a win-win for both sides. Why did they have to do this?!
"Let alone the fact you could have easily died or gotten seriously injured. Do you even know how the Mercia Family will act?"
Ellen—who had remained quiet all throughout, took this chance to speak up.
"The Mercia Family can’t do anything. Such an illegal operation occurring in their most prized city, they definitely can’t punish us for uncovering such a thing. Besides, the Mercia Family might be strong. But are they stronger then the Grace Family? Or Asteria? Or Floriza?"
"They won’t be happy about this."
"Oh they definitely won’t. But they can’t do anything about it. They just have to sit back and swallow their anger."
These scions of Families were really different. Sienna was someone who lived under the government, and the mage association was also under the government rather then any Family.
"So. What did you need my help for then?"
She didn’t forget the reason why they called her over in the first place. They were still trying to give her work to do.
Colleen lifted up the child on her lap. Sienna had assumed she was a demon as well, but seeing it clearly. This child also had a pair of wings and a tail.
Covering her ears again, she explained to Sienna. "She’s a dragon. For reasons, I won’t be able to take care of her. So the two of them want your help on how they should protect her."
"A dragon?"
Dragons originated from the Dragonic Realm, with a few deciding to cross over into the Human Realm every once in a while. They were rare creatures that had the potential to reach the SSS-rank. Trying to find one on Terra was like looking for a needle in a haystack the size of a mountain. Yet this child was one of these legendary creatures?
Faced with Sienna’s burning gaze, she cowered slightly. Hiding within Colleen’s arms.
"Scary..."
"..."
"So you want me to take care of her?"
"If possible yes."
How in the world could she possibly do such a thing?
She was busy enough with her work as the vice-president of the mage association, even without the president breathing down her neck. The danger that she encountered was also unbelievably high, in the past year alone. She had faced dozens of assassination attempts.
But she also really didn’t want to take care of a child!
Her eyes widened, looking at Raymond and Ellen.
"I can’t take care of her. But what if you two take care of her?"
She continued explaining, "The academy is a safe place, and it’s relatively isolated so you can hide her identity there. She can also be kept under constant watch."
"We thought about it as well, but will the academy allow us to bring her there?"
It didn’t matter what the academy thought. The mage association held a lot of influence within the academy, Sienna could handle it all with a single phone call to the principal.
Besides, was Raymond forgetting who he was? He might have been the worst possible student Sienna could have asked for. But he was an individual with a talent that was literally impossible, and had already made a massive breakthrough in magic all by himself. If he ever decided to leave the academy, there would be plenty of offers coming his way.
"I can handle it. But can you take care of her?"
"Sure. It can’t be that hard. "
Raymond was someone with experience in this field after all.
Ellen tilted her head at him, before remembering his past and nodding alongside him.
