Elestria moaned as she rustled under the blanket and suddenly she opened her eyes. She had a wet dream of having sex with Mykel, and she was a bit annoyed that she couldn’t finish the dream. She then walked to the dressing table and realized how pathetic she was for having such a dream because she wanted it to happen.

She looked at herself in the mirror, realizing what she had done was wrong. She thought really hard about whether she should tell Elysande or not because the guilt would eat her up if she kept hiding it.

"It’s better to apologize," Elestria sighed and then rang the bell to notify the maids to prepare the bath for her.

After she took a bath and dressed up for the day, she walked into the hallway where all the maids and servants greeted her. When she turned into the corner, she saw Elysande standing in front of her office with a troubled expression.

"Ely? What are you doing here early in the morning?" Elestria furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at Elysande.

"There’s something I want to say. Can we talk inside?" Elysande asked and she kept avoiding Elestria’s gaze.

Elestria nodded her head and entered the office with Elysande while leaving them alone. They both sat on the sofa next to each other, but somehow the atmosphere felt so awkward.

"Yesterday, I kissed Mykel," Elestria said without thinking as she looked down with her eyes closed. "I won’t deny that it was me who wanted that to happen. We both kissed for minutes over there," she pointed out as she looked at the desk.

Elestria was waiting for Elysande’s response, but Elysande didn’t say anything. She could feel Elysande’s gaze stabbing her nape, and it made her feel on the edge because of the silence.

"I did the same thing last night. I went to his room and it happened almost instantly. I couldn’t help myself and Mykel embraced me, carried me to the bed, and we kissed for a while," Elysande said as she looked down and stared at her own hands after she remembered how muscular and manly Mykel’s body was.

They both slowly looked at each other and didn’t know what to say because they both made the same mistake. Weirdly enough, they didn’t feel betrayed and they didn’t blame each other because they knew they were in the wrong. But, what made it even weirder was that they were okay knowing that they both kissed the same man.

"If we keep doing this, our bloodline will disappear. We both know that we love the same man, and we would never be able to find someone like him," Elysande said as she put her hand on Elestria’s lap. "Rather than hurting ourselves, why don’t we just share the happiness together?" She asked and stared at Elestria.

"Are you saying that we should share his love?" Elestria asked to make sure that they were on the same page.

"We both are suffering from this, and this might be the only way to solve the problem. Something like this happened a long time ago, and I believe it’s not wrong if we loved the same man and were with him together," Elysande answered as she held Elestria’s hand. "I’m fine with that, what about you? You’re the Queen of this kingdom, and if the world knows about this, it will affect your reputation and this whole kingdom," she asked.

"I don’t mind. We will think of the solution together since we are in this together," Elestria stared at Elysande and nodded her head in agreement.

Mykel was in the park on his own, or at least that was what the maids, servants, and guards thought. He was sitting on the bench with Aevia standing in front of him to discuss the little bet they had.

"I won, and I hope you keep your promise," Mykel said and looked at Aevia who seemed disappointed with the result.

"Give me those life essences," Aevia reached out her hand and opened it as she looked at Mykel. "I will keep them until the time comes when you collected all of them. I will bring them all back to life and give them back their memories and powers," she added.

Mykel didn’t say anything and gave all the life essences without hesitation or with any suspicion in his head. He looked relaxed and Aevia was quite surprised that he didn’t even doubt her which made it less exciting because she thought Mykel would say something.

"Is there anything else you need?" Mykel asked as he pulled out a cigarette and put it in his mouth.

"No, you can enjoy your time here on your own," Aevia answered and then disappeared.

Before Mykel could light his cigarette, he heard footsteps and saw Jessie wandering in the garden on her own. He sat there staring at her, waiting until their eyes met, and the moment their eyes met, Jessie looked so happy and hurriedly approached him.

"Hmm? What’s this?" Jessie furrowed her eyebrows after she found something that didn’t belong in the garden. "Mykel, if Her Majesty knew that you threw a cigarette here, she would be angry," she grabbed an old and soaked cigarette on the soil.

Mykel furrowed his eyebrows because he didn’t know what Jessie was talking about. He never threw a butt of the cigarette in the garden, and when he looked at the cigarette, he was more convinced it wasn’t him. He never threw away a whole cigarette, and it looked like it hadn’t been lit.

"It wasn’t me since I just got here after I came back. Maybe it was a guest that came here?" Mykel asked as he looked at the cigarette that looked old and almost covered in soil.

"There’s no way anyone would be allowed to come here because this garden is a private garden that only the royal family that allowed to enter. Also, this cigarette looks the same as the one in your mouth," Jessie pointed out and sat next to Mykel to compare the cigarette in her hand and in Mykel’s mouth.

When Mykel wanted to deny it once more, he stopped when he noticed something. He took the cigarette in Jessie’s hand and then looked at where she took it from. He looked so confused and in disbelief when he looked at the cigarette, and then he was convinced it wasn’t a dream.

Mykel burned the cigarette in his hand until there was nothing left behind. He then sat down and thought about the dream he had with Elena, and she threw the cigarette when he was about to smoke it back then. The place she threw it was exactly the same as when Jessie found it on the ground.

"What’s the matter?" Jessie asked with her eyebrows raised.

Mykel snapped his fingers and Jessie’s expression went blank and so did her eyes for a moment. He then sat beside her and lit his cigarette, the sound of the flick of the lighter making Jessie snap back to reality.

"Why are you here? Do you have something to say to me?" Mykel looked at Jessie. "Are you perhaps asking for my advice about the current situation about the successor?" He asked.

Jessie’s expression changed and she looked anxious the moment Mykel brought up the topic. She then nodded her head as she lowered her head because she knew that she had no place to be the Queen of the kingdom. She knew her position, status, and history that none of them would make her eligible to be a Queen.

"A bird taught a fish to fly. The bird believed one day the fish could fly and become like it in the future," Mykel smoked his cigarette as he made himself comfortable on the bench.

"That’s one foolish bird. Even the fish knew that it would be impossible and everything that the bird taught the fish was pointless," Jessie responded and looked depressed by the fact she was the fish.

"Who said that the fish couldn’t fly? The fish could fly, it was just that the fish believed that she couldn’t," Mykel looked at Jessie with a smile. "The bird wasn’t a fool. The bird saw it with her own two eyes that the fish had wings that could support its body to fly. The bird wouldn’t taught the fish to fly if the fish didn’t have wings," he continued.

"A flying fish, a rare species," Jessie looked at Mykel and realized there was a fish that could fly. "Do you think that the fish could become like the bird?" She asked.

Mykel chuckled and then gently touched Jessie’s nose with a gentle smile on his face. He then gently stroked her head, giving her peace of mind and comforting her to ease her anxiety.

"Why do the fish want to be like the bird? The fish should realize why the bird taught her to fly. The bird knew that the fish was special because the fish could swim underwater and could fly in the sky. The fish is unique and you can’t compare something unique to something common," Mykel answered.

"But what about the people that don’t believe that the fish could replace the bird because, in the end, the fish can’t fly for so long unlike the bird?" Jessie asked and let Mykel keep stroking her head because she felt calm.

"The bird might be the ruler of the sky, but what’s the point of becoming the ruler of the sky when the ones under her ruling are fish?" Mykel asked. "Which one is better? A fish that understands another fish because they’re swimming in the same sea or a bird that knows only the sky where the fishes can only see water?" He added.

"So all I have to do is to convince the people and show them that I’m being taught not only to become a Queen but also to become a better Queen than Her Majesty since I know the struggle and the suffering of the people because I was like them before and I’m still one of them?" Jessie asked.

"Smart girl," Mykel pinched Jessie’s nose gently as he chuckled and smiled. "Just believe in yourself and the people who support you. Challenge those who still don’t believe in you through actions and achievements. People will see with their eyes first and then with their hearts, it’s not something uncommon for getting a prejudice," Mykel pointed out.

Jessie was smiling widely and then hugged Mykel to show her gratitude for making her feel a lot better. Discover exclusive content at novelbuddy

"I promise, I will become someone that you will be so proud of," Jessie said with determination as she kept hugging him so tightly.

"What are you saying? I already am proud of you," Mykel stroked Jessie’s hair and kissed her head.
