Dimensional Streamer: Infinite Views in Another World-Chapter 40: Breaking Point
Seeing the quest pop up, Noa almost jumped with happiness.
He was already trying his absolute best to make Aleksander Carter furious, wanting to see how far the skill Shameless Persistence would take him.
On top of that, his desire to be an asshole was appreciated.
Of course, he would be happy because of that.
The rewards were also enticing, keeping his motivation high as always.
With that out of the way, Noa straightened his back and stood still in front of the man. His message was clear—he had no intention of backing down.
Then he tilted his head and spoke before Aleksander beat him to it:
"You look tense. Have you ever tried yoga or meditation? I heard it helps people with superiority complexes."
Noa expected the man to show some kind of reaction.
Instead, he smiled. "You are clever, I will give you that. But I have met your type before. You are a loud dog. You bark from afar, yet when it’s time to bite, you will hide behind a woman like my sister."
’That was a good one,’ Noa admitted.
He didn’t get angry, though. This was his game—even if he was playing on the enemy’s playground.
"You don’t have to worry, brother-in-law. I don’t bite family members. You can continue acting like a stray dog."
Aleksander pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled softly. "I think you have the wrong impression of my sister. You think she is impressed by your games? She pities you, and that’s the only reason you can follow her around like a loyal dog."
"Really?" Noa exclaimed, acting surprised.
He looked at Clara, not to find faults with her but to wink at her with a smile. "Then you should try that as well and let me complete the transaction."
The man wanted to answer, to teach him a lesson, to show him his place.
Yet Noa didn’t want to be bothered.
He just asked a staff member to help him with the payment.
The woman, however, didn’t dare to move, afraid of experiencing the wrath of her boss.
Seeing that his power and influence didn’t betray him, Aleksander pushed Noa’s shoulder with his hand, using enough force to stop his actions.
Then he said something—something about a frog and a well.
Noa ignored him once.
Then the man proceeded to throw more humiliating words at him, yet Noa didn’t hear any of them.
He knew nothing would make a rich person more furious than being ignored by someone they considered beneath them.
For the next two minutes, Noa stood still and silent, while Aleksander kept speaking nonsense.
The longer Noa remained quiet, the more urgent the man’s voice became. He even called for his guards to escort Noa out, not letting him buy his dream PC and going as far as blacklisting him.
That one did sting a little.
All Noa wanted to do was spend his money and play some games.
Now this stupid rich boy decided that he couldn’t do that.
Not that it mattered too much, as he could always visit other stores. Knowing this, he continued his silent treatment and only smiled wholeheartedly.
"You little—" suddenly Aleksander snapped, his eyes flaring with genuine anger.
He was a businessman with countless years of experience working under pressure. Still, Noa’s heavenly ability to make him mad was something he couldn’t overcome, and his façade started to crumble.
Clara saw this and stepped between them. "Enough, both of you."
She no longer looked amused.
This time, there was a hint of frustration and... anger in her voice. Clearly, she didn’t like how far the conversation went.
Her one hand rested on her brother’s shoulder; the other was raised at Noa.
"Aleksander, calm down. You are making a scene in front of your people. This isn’t like you."
Their stares clashed again.
Then he sighed, realization dawning on him. He had just lost his cool in front of his employees and, worse, in front of his sister.
Meanwhile, not caring about the situation, the system panel flickered before Noa.
[Quest Completed]
[Requirement: Push Aleksander Carter’s dignity to the breaking point]
[Reward: The state-of-the-art gaming equipment]
Noa’s expression brightened instantly. ’Now that’s a reward to make me smile,’ he thought, not hiding his satisfaction.
Aleksander looked at him for the last time.
His voice grew colder, but it was much calmer than before. "You will regret this. People like you always do."
Noa knew these weren’t empty threats.
The man before him had to be capable of making his life harder.
Little did he know that Noa had an omniscient system on his side, and almost nothing could faze him.
"I guess I have to wait for that," he replied warmly.
Aleksander adjusted his suit, turned around, and stormed off, not sparing a single glance at his sister.
Noa walked as well.
He had to pick up Hana, after all.
Clara let out an audible exhale and walked beside him. The silence between them lasted only for a moment before she burst out laughing, her serious expression nowhere to be found.
"I already knew it, but you are... insane," she said, her eyes shining. "No one, and I mean no one, including my father, talks to him like that. I think he is really angry."
"I-I am sorry," Noa apologized softly. "I know he is your brother, but I couldn’t help myself."
Clara shook her head.
"No. No. It’s not your fault. You just wanted to buy a computer, and he didn’t let you. I apologize for that."
She sounded sincere.
Noa knew she would act this way and liked the fact that he wasn’t disappointed.
As he thanked his luck for having a good relationship with his sister, Clara promised to help him if Aleksander tried to stir up some problems with him.
Noa nodded and drove her to the café where she had left earlier.
"Adios, my favorite MILF."
The woman giggled and gave him a soft hug. "Let’s keep in touch, shall we?"
Noa had no reason to refuse and promised to call her.
Then he drove towards Hana’s school, curious to hear how her day went—especially after what he had seen this morning.
