Divine Convenience Store-Chapter 546: Two Blue Chests
The Wyrm thrashed as its glass-like body screeched from being squeezed. The reflected light that it still managed to absorb grew blindingly intense, but with nowhere to go, it began to feed back into the creature.
Soon enough, its screeching turned into something akin to helplessness as it eventually accepted its fate.
"Now, break!" Lin Mo roared, slamming his armored hands together.
The walls of the cage made from his solidified qi contracted violently.
CRASH! BREAK!
The Prismatic Reflection Wyrm imploded, shattering into a million shards of light and glass that dissolved into motes of light before they hit the ground.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the translucent barrier, the battle had devolved into a spectacle of untamed elemental fury.
Liu Xiaoyu stood in the center of a literal storm as her form became wreathed in arcs of golden lightning that cracked the air around her.
The Abyssal Current Leviathan loomed over her, a mountain of churning, electrified water that seemed to defy gravity. It still hadn’t given up despite the seemingly ineffective attacks it was launching against her.
It lashed out with a whip of liquid lightning, aiming to bisect the young prodigy.
"I told you, slush-bucket. This isn’t going to work!" Xiaoyu laughed as she took the whiplash head in on. She didn’t even flinch and caught the tendril of the leviathan’s body. She then stepped forward, her shoulder slamming into the water body.
A normal cultivator would have been electrocuted or drowned. But Xiaoyu’s [Nine Heavens Exquisite Body] hummed, her skin contesting with it in how conducive she could become.
The Leviathan’s own lightning flowed over her harmlessly, merely adding to the charge building up in her aura.
Liu Xiaoyu grinned with her eyes sparkling with manic glee. "Mhm. Looks like Boss is already done on that side. I guess it’s time to overload you. Let’s see how much juice you can drink!"
She planted her feet, the stone floor beneath her boots fracturing into a spiderweb of cracks. She raised both hands to the sky with her fingers clawed.
"Nine Heavens Storm: Gathering of the Thunder Gods!"
Executing a newly derived move from her self-created technique, Liu Xiaoyu poured her golden lightning qi, causing the arena to begin to scream. Static electricity made her hair stand on end as dark, swirling clouds materialized from the void above, ignoring the tower’s artificial ceiling.
It was like a call to the Heavenly Lightning. A call to the primordial forces that make the storm.
With another punch to the sky, bolts of lightning, thick as tree trunks, began to rain down.
However, instead of striking the Leviathan directly, they struck Xiaoyu as though she were a lightning rod that attracted them.
Acting like a living conduit, she absorbed the celestial fury into her spirit channels, refining them into her storm qi, which gradually turned golden as it crackled with the might closer to the Heavenly Lightning.
Her body started glowing brighter and brighter until she looked like a miniature sun made of pure plasma.
The Leviathan, sensing the immense energy emitted by her body, surged forward hungrily.
Its fluid body expanded as its maw opened wide to swallow this delicious morsel of power.
It wasn’t afraid of the lightning. After all, it had the ability to absorb it. And so, its instinct was to consume her. A great source of nutrients.
"Here comes the main course!" Liu Xiaoyu shouted with a smirk, not even bothering to do a defensive maneuver.
She thrust her palms forward and guided the overflowing energy within her.
Soon, a beam of golden lightning, so intense it turned the air so dense and weightless at the same time, erupted from her hands.
Before the hulking mass of giant blob, a continuous roaring river of energy rushed forward and eventually slammed into it.
The creature roared as its watery form expanded rapidly, gorging Xiaoyu’s discharged energy. It grew larger, towering over the arena.
Lin Mo even had to jump back as it also expanded over to his side.
The Leviathan’s blue body also started turning into a brilliant, blinding white.
Arcs of uncontrolled electricity began to shoot out from it, scorching the walls of the generated arena.
It was drinking the ocean, expanding itself rapidly. But little did it expect that the ocean was endless.
"More! Take more!" Xiaoyu chuckled in satisfaction as she pushed her output to the limit.
Her foundation trembled slightly, but it held firm due to how perfect it was.
Although reckless, the boundless potential of a genius like her was unleashed.
It didn’t take even a minute.
The ever-expanding Leviathan began to vibrate as the water that formed its body started to boil.
Steam erupted from its surface in massive, hissing clouds. The lightning swimming within it became erratic and violent. It could no longer continue to absorb. It finally reached its limit.
The creature tried to pull away, sensing the danger.
It even tried to disperse its form. To flee into the cracks of the floor.
But Xiaoyu prevented it.
"Oh no, you don’t! Don’t waste your food!" She slammed her hands together and detonated the stream of energy she was feeding it.
BOOM!
The explosion started with a bang before the entire arena turned white and blinding.
A shockwave of superheated steam and raw lightning blasted outwards, slamming against the arena walls.
The light barrier that was already dissipating flickered violently and then shattered into a million fragments of dissolving energy.
When the steam cleared, the Leviathan was gone. In its place, a fine mist of glowing rain drifted down, sparkling like diamonds.
[Wave 2 Complete.]
"Hehe. See that, Boss? Easy, right?" Liu Xiaoyu turned to where Lin Mo retreated and rubbed her nose, partly expecting praise and partly just proud of her handiwork.
The steam rising from her skin made her look like a deity descending from the clouds, albeit a deity with a penchant for high-explosive violence.
"You blew up the arena, Xiaoyu," Lin Mo said, stepping out from behind a pillar of solidified starlight he had erected to shield himself from the shockwave. He retracted his [Stellar Domain] and let the silver light fade.
"And you nearly vaporized the loot."
"Details, Boss! Did we win? Yes. Did I look cool? Double yes! Anyway, where’s the loot? Why did the tower give it to us early? There’s still another wave!" 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
She quickly hopped over to where the Leviathan had been and then pointed somewhere. "Oh, look. There they are, Boss!"
Lin Mo walked over and his gaze landed on the two Blue Chests that materialized from the fading mist of the defeated guardians.
"Two chests this time. One from each wave, or because it was guilty of being a cheat? Still, the tower is being generous." Lin Mo approached the one nearest to him and pointed Xiaoyu to the other. "Open that one yourself, Xiaoyu."
He quickly opened the one in his hand.

"A complete manual?" Lin Mo raised an eyebrow. "This [Mirror-Image Sword Arts]... it seems tailored for illusion-based sword cultivators. Maybe we can sell it to the Phantom Mirage Sect... ah, wait. We killed their Sect Master and they’re the temple’s close ally. They’re also banned from our store. Never mind. I’ll have Sword Fairy look into this. Maybe it’ll be useful for her and buy it... or a gift?"
He murmured that last part as he never thought he thought of giving a patron a gift.
"Boss, look! There’s an artifact here. What’s this? A crown?" Xiaoyu held up her discovery. It was a circlet of woven, electrified water that seemed frozen in time, which pulsated with a gentle, blue light.
