Dumped A Scumbag At The Altar For A One Night Stand With A Billionaire-Chapter 99: Do You Actually Like Him?
The man staring directly at her looked like he was ready to tear the whole place down, anger seeping out from his aura.
Why was he here, and what made him look so mad?
"What are you doing here Cousin?" Ryan’s voice suddenly cut through the tense silence, there was a smirk on his face, he looked like someone who had conquered an empire and was showing it off to his opponents as he added,
"Don’t tell me you followed us here? Celine and I are on a special date." His words were purposely infuriating as if he wanted to strike a nerve in Tristan.
A calmness suddenly returned to Tristan’s features, looking unfazed by the words Ryan just said to provoke him, there was cold indifference on his face as he asked, "A date?"
He glanced at Celine then back to Ryan, "I apologize for interrupting your date but... Miss Roberts will have to come with me." He stated plainly without a hint on his face that showed he meant the apology.
Ryan laughed, "Is this your way of showing interest in the woman I’m dating? That Is quite pathetic of you dear cousin, you even came to steal your own cousin’s date." Ryan mocked, he was clearly enjoying ridiculing Tristan.
A sharp, cold scoff escaped Tristan’s lips. "Interested in the woman you’re dating? Last I recalled, the woman you’re dating is Emily Brendon, or was it Tiffany Hales? You switch between them so much no one can even keep a track, and they might be quite attractive but most certainly not my type, I wouldn’t stop so low."
"You!" Ryan was suddenly infuriated, Tristan was openly talking about his girls in front of Celine. Yes he had dated Emily first then broke up with her, after which he dated Tiffany but Emily suddenly became charming again so he let go of Tiffany and went back to Emily, but he absolutely didn’t want Celine to find out about that, he didn’t want to lose the little progress he was already making with her.
"Why are you mentioning my past right now. I’m a single man now so I have every right to date again, please don’t try to sabotage my date with Celine."
"It seems very easy for you to let go of a woman who once carried your child and lost it because of your recklessness." Tristan remarked.
That statement made Celine go stiff.
’...a woman who once carried your child...’
Ryan’s face immediately colored in nervousness and he quickly looked at Celine to judge her expression. She had a distant look in her eyes. Ryan almost cursed Tristan out loud.
What was he even doing here and why was he mentioning the fact that Emily almost had his child once before?
Celine was a beauty he didn’t want to lose, what if she began to dislike him for what Tristan said just now. She was a confident, classy and sophisticated woman, exactly his type so he definitely wouldn’t let Tristan ruin his chances with her.
"You seem a little bit too interested in my past relationships Tristan, everyone has a past, so whether or not she had been pregnant with my child has nothing to do with you. It still breaks my heart and I was going to tell Celine when we’ve moved past the first date." He said hoping her impression of him would improve.
Women loved a man who could be emotional so he made sure to show as much sadness in his eyes as he possibly could but she wasn’t even looking at him, seemingly in her own thoughts.
"Celine and I are enjoying our date Tristan, I’m going to have to ask you to leave." Ryan stated.
Celine felt a sudden headache coming on, she really didn’t want to be here right now.
Tristan said nothing to Ryan who was quietly seething, he turned to Celine speaking firmly. "Are you waiting for a special invitation?"
Celine was momentarily confused as she glanced up at him questioningly. "What did I tell you two days ago? Whenever we have a deadline, working hours will never be over. There are still several uncompleted tasks." He said coldly, sounding like the complete workaholic she was realizing him to be.
Working hours would never be over? How could that even be possible?
Ryan glared at his cousin, he hated this commanding and powerfully arrogant part of Tristan the most. "She is not your employee, you can’t order her around."
"The investment put her in a working position, and right now she works with me. I can decide when she works and when she doesn’t so stay out of this."
Ryan was beyond infuriated but all he could do was glare at Tristan with a murderous gaze.
This cousin of his always steals anything he sets his eyes on. Just like he had wanted to make Celine his executive but Tristan stole her away, otherwise she would have already been his by now, working together everyday would have gotten him much closer to her than this.
"Miss Roberts." Tristan called as he began to walk away, Ryan could only glare at his broad back wishing he could just hurt him from behind and get rid of the thorn in his side. The only person between him and becoming the president of Grayson Corp, now became the only person between him and Celine, his hatred was mounting higher and higher.
Celine was more than happy to flee this so called date, so without a second to waste she picked up her bag. "Thanks for the meal Mr Blakewood." She said before leaving as well.
She breathed the fresh air outside with relief, she really was glad she had gotten rid of that Ryan.
She would be a bit more patient in regard to finding out exactly what Ryan wanted from her and why he was constantly threatening her with her home. If he was an enemy, she would definitely not be letting him off.
But now she had another person to take care of and this one was more dangerous than Ryan, also he seemed hell bent on burying her in work.
She came to stand behind Tristan as he had his back turned to her, Celine glanced down at her watch, it was getting pretty late, she couldn’t keep Rachel waiting for her and the children. Actually, she had no plans of going back with Tristan to the office but it had been an opportunity to walk out on Ryan without him threatening to go home with her again.
Just as her lips parted to tell him to return to the office on his own, Tristan suddenly turned to her, his expression sharp and stern as he suddenly asked,
"Do you actually like him?"
