Dungeon Raider System-Chapter 204: The girls are found
At the edge of highest floating island on sight, a famished and ragged figure emerged struggling to lift his weight and reach the safety of the flat terrain on top. His hand was still badly burned and all of his muscles ached due to the physical exhaustion, but finally he managed to reach his destination.
For the past few days he had been traveling the mysterious floating islands without rest and to the top of his ascended physical prowess. He endured physical pain, hunger, thirst, fear of heights and traps, all while still mourning the passing of his friend, but he finally reached safety.
Every time he thought of closing his eyes and resting, all he could see was the face of his friends and his last words asking him to move forward. This was the reason why he forced himself to the limit.
"Now all that’s left is to find them and try to make our escape." Sam muttered with a crazed look on his face. He didn’t have even a semblance of a plan and all he could think of now was the terrible fate that probably befell on Nika, Luna and Janett, though he didn’t care that much about the latter. "Compared to their suffering this is nothing." He gazed at his destroyed hand.
It had lost almost all mobility, but he knew he would make a full recovery once he got to rest and grabbed something to eat.
He stumbled from side to side, his tired body refusing to follow his commands, each step drawing him closer to a gruesome sight of his friends being abused.

He walked into the small town built with marble and stone grasping his rifle however he could, looking at every direction and taking cover in the walls to avoid being spotted by enemies. A feat only possible thanks to his all seeing trait.
Ever since he met his friends he had grown, not only as a person, but also as a hunter. He was way more capable than the average ascended but nothing could have prepared him for the scene that unfolded in front of his eyes once he reached the center of the air spirit people town.
"What the fuck!?"
"Finally! What took you so long?" Nika said jokingly. She was covered with a blanket sitting in front of the fire while eating military grade rations she packed for the trip.
"I’ll answer your question as soon as you explain me what the fuck is going on here?"
"We’re eating." Luna shrugged her shoulders.
"But... but you were being..." Sam couldn’t believe his eyes. Instead of the grotesque scene he thought he would meet, the three women looked like they were having a camp out, the only thing that was missing were the marshmallows.
"What!? No! These guys are pretty chill." Nika said shaking her head and Sam crumbled into the ground, crying ugly and covering his face. "What’s the matter? Are you that disappointed to not seeing us naked?"
"Uriel," Sam cried louder. "Uriel is dead. I saw him fall to the abyss and you are here having fun?"

"Well, this is awkward." Uriel scratched the back of his head.
"Skinwalker!" Sam screamed in terror, though no one reacted.
"Calm down, would you? It’s really me."
"But, I saw you fall... and..." Sam was so shocked he ended up fainting.
"Is that true? Did you really fall to the bottom?" Janett asked, her right eye was twitching involuntarily for some reason, but Uriel refused to answer.
After his awful encounter with the horror rank nosferatu cryptid, Uriel realized it was weak to light and started making some experiments. First, bought sunlamps from the store, along with a generator to power them. Then, he started venturing into the dark areas as far as the light allowed.
The beast rank nosferatu vampires were unaffected by the light, but the higher the rank the weaker they became and that allowed him to hunt a total of two entity rank vampires, about a dozen monster rank and countless beast rank cryptids, though the horror rank cryptid didn’t appear anymore.
Thanks to all the cryptids he hunted, he was able to allocate two stat points into flux, but something was off.
"Hey Luna, I have a question for you," Uriel faked a cough. "Do all cryptids leave behind a flux orb?"
"Uhm, yes. Why do you ask?"
"Nothing," He sighed. Of all the cryptids he hunted, all of them dropped a flux orb except for the entity level ones, though they still counted towards his ’goal’ of acquiring 10 entity level flux orbs and now he had a total of three out of ten. "More importantly, how did you figure out those guys weren’t hostile?"
"When they lifted us up from the ground, they were careful enough to not harm us, but forceful enough to not let us fall." Luna explained.
"Let me rephrase it, weren’t you scared they would do weird things to you?"
"No," Luna shook her head. "You mentioned that air spirit people were supposed to have good intentions and I believed you."
Uriel couldn’t help but facepalm at her naivety. Even he didn’t know much about the air spirit people, only what the native American creation myths stated, and yet Luna took his words at face value.
"So, how do we go to the next world?"
"There’s two ways. One, would be to try and do some naughty stuff to the swallow chief’s wife. That would get us exiled."
"I bet Sam would love to do that." Nika laughed mercilessly at the passed out hunter.
"The second way is more straightforward and less dangerous. We need to find the totem, it should be a carved wooden pole depicting an animal."
"I don’t know about wooden poles, but there’s a few carved animals on the columns near the throne in the middle of this island." Nika pointed towards the tall marble columns.
Uriel had no means to know about them because he arrived only a couple hours earlier than Sam and, just like him, he also climbed the whole cliff but he concluded that, as long as there were animals carved on them they should work.
"Then we should go back and seek for Shaker and maybe save some of the soldiers, if they’re willing to pay that is." Uriel said with a glint of greed on his eye.
"Too late," Nika quickly put a stop to Uriel’s hopes of extorting money out of the soldiers. "The nice birdies already brought them over."
