Enchanting His Heart: His Little Fox-Chapter 22: Don’t Tell Me Song Yi Seduced You
Tang Si stretched out his hand and gently touched Ningxia Chuan: "Help me up."
His voice was a bit weak, slightly panting.
Ningxia Chuan frowned deeply, feeling helpless, but still pulled him up from the ground.
"For a case, do you not even want your own life? I told you not to overthink things, putting too much pressure on yourself is not good for you."
He had known Tang Si since childhood. Tang Si was polite to others, being the kind of person that was both easygoing and rational, unknowingly maintaining a sense of distance.
During investigations, he was calm and composed, full of life, and that was his public persona.
Privately, he knew that someone like Tang Si was cold-blooded.
He also knew that once Tang Si determined to do something, there was no stopping him, so his words might be of little use.
Tang Si really didn’t listen to Ningxia Chuan’s words at all.
Leaning against the street lamp, his hands were trembling. He took a few deep breaths and picked up a cigarette, preparing to smoke again.
"Could you not smoke?" Ningxia Chuan frowned, watching him continue with his actions unmoved, feeling annoyed: "Come on, tell me why?"
"Don’t say you were seduced by Song Yi."
The hand holding the cigarette paused slightly, and then he looked at the dark sky, where there seemed to be her smiling face like a flower.
Charming, soft, with a mesmerizing allure, she was an enticing enchantress.
He suddenly laughed: "You weren’t kidding, Song Yi really has that ability."
Ningxia Chuan’s pupils widened, feeling incredulous.
Just as he was about to speak, he heard Tang Si’s calm voice: "Xiachuan, if I were such a person, how many times would the entire criminal investigation brigade have died already?"
He restrained the smile just now, his voice cold, like ice or snow, devoid of emotion.
Indeed, criminal investigation cases are major cases, and Tang Si, having come from special forces, faced ferocious and ruthless criminals regardless of the type.
Beauty traps were often used.
In his bones, he had a ruthless streak and wildness, but more than that, he was a cold-blooded iron fist, severing all emotions and sentiments, leaving behind a body of cold blood.
He was not someone who acted on emotions.
After speaking, he put the cigarette back to his mouth, his pitch-black eyes revealing no emotions.
Ningxia Chuan just stared at him lighting the cigarette, taking drag after drag, watching his desolate and lazy expression in the smoke.
He watched as he gradually gathered his hostility, waiting for him to really stabilize his emotions.
Expecting him to say something, instead, Tang Si simply dusted off ashes from his clothes, slightly curling his lips, restoring that lazy and relaxed demeanor as if everything just now was an illusion.
He lightly patted Ningxia Chuan on the shoulder: "I’ve got a handle on it, get some sleep early."
Ningxia Chuan watched his back, tall and slender, his steps no longer steady and powerful as usual, looking somewhat floating.
He frowned deeply, looking at the ground littered with cigarette butts and ashes: "What kind of handle do you have, damn it."
...
The next morning, sunlight broke through the clouds to shine upon the earth.
Director Cheng was a middle-aged man, appearing to be in his forties or fifties, with little hair on top, wearing a stern face, and the deep furrows between his brows seemed to proclaim his authority.
He walked into the criminal investigation brigade under the sun, everyone greeting him, and Director Cheng’s voice was deep: "Zhou Liang, ask Tang Si to come to my office."
"Tang, Captain Tang, he..."
"Still not here?" Director Cheng raised his hand to check the time: "What time is it and he’s still not here?"
"Uh..." Zhou Liang swallowed, his mind racing: "He went out on an assignment early this morning, just called me, I’m heading out there right now."
He was covering for Tang Si.
Director Cheng, being a shrewd man, was not easily fooled.
He let out a light snort: "Let me see the call records?"
