Enchanting His Heart: His Little Fox-Chapter 23: Objectively Helping Her
"I just deleted it..." Zhou Liang stared at the middle-aged man in front of him, his heart pounding, truly panicking inside.
He’s afraid of Director Cheng, but even more afraid of Tang Si!
As he spoke, his words lacked confidence; even he felt unsure.
How could Director Cheng possibly believe his nonsense?
He said sternly, "Stop trying to fool me, call him and get him here right away."
When he was fierce, he was also very intimidating, with a kind of ruthless energy accumulated over the years. It was clear, he was a tough guy in his younger days too.
"Yes, yes, yes." Zhou Liang dared not speak for Tang Si anymore, and took out his phone to make the call.
"Here he is." A light voice suddenly came from the doorway, leading everyone to look over.
Tang Si walked in wearing a casual outfit, with Martin boots on his feet, striding confidently and lightly towards them, his eyes carrying a smile as he looked at Director Cheng, "Director Cheng, inviting me for tea?"
He stood opposite Director Cheng, smiling relaxedly, with a slightly irreverent demeanor.
Upon closer inspection, there was a hint of restraint between his brows.
Tang Si was a person who understood moderation and tact, knowing precisely what expression to adopt at any given moment, grasping the subtlety of it all.
Such a person carries a certain level of innate rigor amid his casual demeanor, even able to strike at your vital points amid laughter and chatter.
"Come with me." Director Cheng’s voice was deep.
Upon hearing this, Tang Si knew that he had something important to discuss, his smile subtly restrained.
Most likely concerning this case.
In the office, Director Cheng’s voice was cold and stern.
"Song Yi is preparing to destroy that evidence, the tissue found at Wu Wang’s house tested to have her DNA, and Wu Wang’s fingernails have her DNA too, why didn’t you report this to me? Why didn’t you apply for a detention order to send her to the detention center?"
Director Cheng’s questions were sharp and severe, every word piercing.
"Moreover, this woman has no alibi, she’s a homicide suspect, Tang Si, you’re still so lenient with her, what are you thinking? To take a step back, if you keep her here and she decides to kill, then what?"
Director Cheng said while slamming the table again and again, his face full of disappointment: "Tang Si, you’re not young anymore, you should understand restraint, right?"
Director Cheng said, turning his face away, refusing to look at Tang Si, speaking coldly, "If you’re not engaged with this case, not willing to follow up, I’ll set up a separate task force."
"Director Cheng, I have my own approach to handling a case." Tang Si spoke calmly.
Director Cheng looked up at him, seeing his somber face, one hand propping against the table edge, the other lightly tapping the table top: "When taking her to Wu Wang’s house, Song Yi’s neck got injured, it was a remote attack."
"But couldn’t find anyone, I collected the blood from the back of her neck, and tested it; it contained elements of hallucinogenic drugs."
His tone was steady, each word sinking into Director Cheng’s ears: "This was someone deliberately framing."
With just a few words, he objectively cleared Song Yi of suspicion.
He pursed his lips and continued, "The investigation shouldn’t revolve solely around Wu Wang’s social connections, Song Yi’s should also be thoroughly examined. So I haven’t reported her suspicion publicly nor informed her family."
"Of course, it’s not entirely definitive, and there’s a chance of Song Yi collaborating in the crime."
Tang Si said as he straightened himself, his deep black eyes staring at Director Cheng: "I have a measure of control over this case, don’t just look at the surface."
"Look through the phenomena and see the essence." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Director Cheng furrowed his brows slightly, as an old detective himself, Tang Si’s approach wasn’t impossible, if there was a framing, then Song Yi’s surrounding relationships indeed needed thorough investigation.
