Ensnaring his Dark Moon-Chapter 370: Roasted inside
After his divine powers awakened and he learnt how to control them, he never thought that the past would ever repeat itself again.
Before the wolf’s claw could reach Aleister’s body, he raised his hand and grabbed the wolf from it’s legs.
The crowd witnessed in utter shock as the man grabbed the wolf with bare hands and in the next moment, a ’crack’ reverberated in the entire place as the wolf was torn into two. It’s blood splashed onto the man’s face.
The place drowned in silence for a quite some time.
’’A devil...’’
’’A devil...’’
’’He should be killed or he will kill us.’’
’’What should we do?"
’’He seems so powerful that he killed our beast with his bare hands... We cannot harm him in any manner unless we want to be killed.’’
’’Burn.. Burn him alive.’’
The crowd went into an uproar.
In the dark corner of a nearby alley, a person stood beneath a black wolf fur cape, dressed like the remaining crowd in a similar yet different manner as they observed the cage.
Back inside the cage, Aleister could hear the chaos around him but he was not in the place to pay attention to their words. After killing a few wolves, he could feel his strength slightly wavering. He had no idea how long it had been since he went to that place.
But the exhaustion of his body told him that it had been quiet some since the time he stepped into that portal and woke up in that strange place.
Without wasting another moment, Aleister gathered all his strength in his joined fist and shot towards the leader of the pack.
’Grrrr..’
The wolf defensively dug his claws in Aleister’s thigh.
Aleister sucked in a cold breath but he attacked the wolf’s head with his joined fists without halting for a second.
’Crack’
The tight grip on Aleister’s thigh loosened as the claws drawled down his flesh, mangling his skin into a gory mess.
Aleister’s footsteps swayed as he grabbed the bar of the cage for support, sweat dripped down his forehead and his entire body was bloodied and bruised.
At the death of their leader, the rest of the wolves went rampant. Some started jumping at Aleister in rage.
Aleister resisted his pain and kicked them away with his uninjured leg the more they came at him.
The rest of the wolves struggled to rush away from Aleister as they tried to bite the cage with their bare teeth.
Aleister dropped to the ground, unable to endure the intensifying pain in his thigh. While most of the wolves had moved away from him, he could still see some of them approaching him.
But much to his surprise, all the wolves suddenly started moving away from him as they howled to get out of the cage.
Before he could think what was happening, he felt a burning sensation in his body.
’’Burn him!"
’’Burn the devil!"
"Burn him...’’
The crowd shouted as some of the people stepped forward to set the cage on fire.
Aleister leaned back on the cage and closed his eyes.
A few more minutes. A little relief to his wound and he could probably try to use his powers again, strongly this time.
But did he have the few minutes?
He closed his eyes, suddenly feeling sleepy and exhausted.
Aleister did not want to stay awake anymore. He let the exhaustion take over him as he drifted off to sleep.
But the distant sight of that beautiful face floated in his mind.
Esme.
She was still waiting for him.
His fingers curled into tight fists.
Aleister bit his bottom lips as he pushed himself to his feet.
He closed his eyes, trying to summon his powers amidst the chaotic circumstances yet no matter how much he tried, he could not feel the rush of the divine powers in his body. He conjured his powers for teleportation but when he opened his eyes, he found himself standing right at that same spot.
Suddenly, the soft notes of a song floated in the air. A feminine voice lingered in the land, quietening the chaos along with it. Like a lore, the voice was enchanting but mysterious. Aleister could not understand the language in which the song was being sung he could trace the lingering depth in the voice.
The chaos around Aleister quietened down. The crowed that was shouting, the wolves that were howling all fell to the ground one by one.
And somehow, Aleister could feel his consciousness growing faint. Without giving it a second thought, he buried his fingers deep inside his wound. The pain jolted him awake and dragged him back to consciousness.
Through the rising fire of the cage, Aleister spotted a person walking towards him.
His vision was going hazy and he could barely see anything other than the person’s black cloak.
It was not until the person approached him did Aleister have a good look.
’’Are you going to stand there and wait for your death?" Luciana pulled her cape down.
’’Luciana?" Aleister was stunned and his gaze immediately scanned behind the woman.
’’Esme came with me,’’ Luciana said, knowing where his gaze was wandering off to.
Aleister frowned.
’’We both came together but I can’t find her now. If you die here like this, forget about being able to ensure her safety,’’ As Luciana spoke, she started looking through the crowd of people who had fallen on the ground.
Aleister reached out to break the bars of the cage but before his hands could touched the fire glazed bars, Luciana’s cold voice rang again.
’’If you want to die, the die properly. Do not survive in a half-alive condition,’’ Luciana said as she flipped an unconscious older man in the crowd with her foot, ’’I would not want my friend to spend her life with an imbecile.’’
Aleister’s lips twitched. He dropped his hands and stepped back from the cage as he watched her grabbing a set of keys from the old man’s ankle.
Luciana approached the cage but the moment she got closer to the fire, her body started burning. Small scales appeared on her skin as they shrunk in her skin.
’’Ahhh...’’ she sucked in a deep breath as she stepped back from the cage.
Aleister frowned, ’’Wait till the fire is gone.’’
’’My power will not keep them unconscious for long. I am not in the sea and my abilities have vastly weakened. Before they wake up, we should get you out of there,’’ Luciana clenched her fist, ’’Or you will be roasted in there.’’
She gritted her teeth and grabbed the lock before thrusting the biggest key inside it.
