Chapter 153: Chapter 153: Sienna, Surprised?

A dozen hours later.

Chloe Nash finally arrived safely at her destination and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

This was a village in Meridia, and she had used a false name throughout the journey. Silas Prescott shouldn’t be able to find her.

Just as she finished unpacking, Jett Sterling’s call came through.

"Chloe, have you arrived?"

"Yes, everything is safe."

Jett finally relaxed: "That’s good. I’ve erased your tracks. Silas Prescott won’t find you. Stay there for a while until he forgets about you. I’ll take care of your uncle and aunt."

"Thank you."

"No need to thank me. You were saved by Chloe, and it’s my duty to fulfill her last wish and take care of her parents."

Hearing those words, Chloe felt a wave of emotion, and a sense of relief that the real Chloe had someone like Jett who loved her.

It’s a pity such a beautiful relationship didn’t have a happy ending.

Chloe teared up: "Jett, if I could do it over, I wish I was the one who died. That way, you and Chloe wouldn’t have met such a tragic end, and I wouldn’t be forced to hide from Silas Prescott."

Jett gently caressed the pendant in his hand, his voice low: "Maybe, one day in the future, I will see her again."

That day, he checked the surveillance footage, only to find that the entire segment concerning him had been erased.

If it were a hotel staff member, there would be no need to do so.

Unless that person didn’t want him to know who it was.

The necklace didn’t mean anything, but its appearance in that room was very suspicious.

Perhaps it was divine favor that let Chloe narrowly escape death.

Thinking of this possibility, Jett clenched the necklace tightly in his palm.

His voice hoarse: "Chloe, could it be you?"

For several days in a row, Chloe hadn’t noticed being followed by Silas, suggesting that this place was still very safe.

That day, she rode her bike to town to buy lots of food, and encountered a stray cat by the roadside.

Suddenly, she remembered the kitten she had in college.

It had been just as scrawny.

But it was later killed by Silas, and the memory of that scene still made Chloe shudder.

She squatted down and gently stroked the kitten’s head, her voice tender: "Flora, do you want to come home with mommy?"

The kitten looked at her and meowed.

It looked so pitiful.

Chloe felt a pang of sympathy and cradled it in her arms, "Come home with sister. I’ll make you plump and healthy."

She stood up, placed the kitten in the bike basket, took it for a vaccination, and then to the pet hospital for a bath before bringing it home.

Five years ago, the death of that kitten had been an indelible memory for her.

She often dreamed of that scene.

Now that she had encountered another kitten, she was determined to prevent the past from repeating.

Chloe bought a lot of things for the kitten, including litter, snacks, and a cat tree.

Since she was going to stay here for a while, the kitten’s companionship would keep her from feeling lonely.

She carried the items inside, set the kitten down, and smiled: "Flora, from now on, this is our home. Go take a look around."

The kitten hesitated to go inside, its eyes fixed on a corner of the room, meowing in Chloe’s arms.

Chloe thought the kitten was just not adapting to the new environment. She gently stroked its head and said, "Don’t be afraid. You’ll get used to it soon. Let me settle your things first."

As she walked into the room with the kitten, she hadn’t turned on the light when the kitten suddenly struggled free from her arms.

It let out an unusual cry: "Meow!"

Chloe sensed something was wrong and hurriedly turned on the light to check.

Seeing the scene before her, Chloe took several staggering steps back, crashing heavily against the doorframe.

Her eyes incredulous as they fixed on Silas Prescott before her, her voice full of fear.

"You, why are you here?"

Seeing the man’s face, Chloe’s pupils contracted sharply.

The scene from years ago of being captured replayed once again.

Chloe was so frightened she couldn’t breathe, watching as Silas approached her step by step.

Each step the man took seemed to trample on her heart.

The pain gave way to tremors.

Silas’s expression was gentle as he walked to her side, a barely-there smile on his lips.

He crouched beside Chloe, his tone soft and gentlemanly: "Miss, how should I address you?"

His dark eyes appeared calm, but Chloe knew that beneath the calm lay a madness she couldn’t bear.

She was terrified, wanting to turn and run.

But Silas had her pinned firmly against the wall.

The handsome face of the man edged closer and closer, a chilling laugh emanating from his throat.

"Sienna, did you like the surprise your brother prepared for you?"

Chloe could no longer describe her feelings at that moment.

Fear, anger, and an inescapable bitterness.

She had erased all traces, so why was Silas still able to find her?

Her eyes filled with redness, she glared at Silas: "What do you want?"

Silas’s cold fingers gently caressed her cheek, his voice hoarse: "Of course, I want to be with my Sienna. It’s been so many years. Don’t you miss your brother, Sienna?"

Chloe angrily slapped Silas’s hand away, "Silas Prescott, I’m not Sienna Paxton. Why can’t you just let me go?"

Silas’s smile was somewhat sinister: "Whether you are or aren’t, it’s not for you to say. I’ll know with just a test."

With that, he didn’t wait for Chloe to react, and directly pressed his lips to hers.

Chloe was pinned against the wall, kissed hard by Silas.

The man’s kiss came like a storm, engulfing her.

Silas was like a wolf starved for ages, devouring everything of hers.

He didn’t care if Chloe survived or not. Even though he knew she was gasping for breath, he wouldn’t let go, kissing her even more viciously.

Chloe felt like she was going to suffocate from Silas’s kiss.

She kept hitting, desperately struggling, but Silas did not stop; he only grew crazier.

She didn’t know how much time had passed, but Chloe felt completely numb.

Her whole body was weak and limp in Silas’s embrace.

Her lips were burning with pain.

Tears glistened at the corners of her eyes.

In anger, she hit Silas: "Silas Prescott, look closely, I’m Chloe Nash, not Sienna Paxton. Show some respect, please."

Silas languidly licked his lips, gently wiping away the tears from the corner of Chloe’s eyes.

His voice hoarse: "Sienna, your brother recognizes you not by this face, but by how my body reacts to you."
