Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy-Chapter 3441: Leaving for the Jade Lotus Island
The Beast God was alerted that Battlesage had disappeared from his room, but beyond that she had learned nothing. The last people to visit his room were Alex and Bladedance, so she could only expect them to have done something.
She relayed the message to Bladedance just as well, and could tell based off Bladedance’s reaction that she already knew and wasn’t worried about it.
Since she couldn’t prod, the Beast God let the matter be.
"We will be leaving for the Jade Lotus Island in 3 hours. Am I to assume that you will be joining us as well?" she asked Bladedance.
Bladedance nodded. "The last time I cultivated in the Sacred Jade Lotus, it had a noticeable effect on me. I’m excited to see what it can do for my disciple," she said. "He’s getting 3 turns, is he?"
"Yes, 3 lotuses in 3 months," the Beast God said. "If you think he needs more, I can make preparations for later."
Bladedance rapped her finger on the armrest of her chair before shaking her head. "Let’s see how the three sessions work for him first. If it does good, we can consider the other ones."
The Beast God bowed. "I understand."
3 hours later, Alex stood outside the palace, under the gazes of many individuals who simply stared at him because his presence pulled their eyes. There were of course a few that recognized him and wondered if they should capture him.
However, with the massive Flamestrider standing by his side in his beast form, none of them dared do anything.
Bladedance stood with her arms crossed nearby, along with the Beast God. "I don’t know if I’m annoyed he’s hogging all the attention, or happy that I don’t have to deal with any of it."
The Beast God let out a weak chortle. "Didn’t you used to complain about unwanted attention before, senior?"
"I did, but I never thought I would miss it as much," Bladedance said with a sigh. "I’m sure once people start recognizing me again, I’ll start hating it once more."
The Beast God simply shook her head, having no words to say in that moment.
"We should leave."
With her words, Flamestrider pulled out his Divine grade ship, and everyone quickly boarded upon it. The teleportation formation leading to the Jade Lotus Island was half the continent away, so it would take them a few hours to reach it.
The Beast God sat near Alex and started speaking. "As I said before, the Sacred Jade Lotuses are mostly useful for those below the Immortal realm. Those in the Immortal realm can also see some benefits, but not a whole lot."
She turned toward him. "I’m not trying to make it sound like you’re going to be wasting your time there. Just... don’t get your expectations too high or else you might end up being sorely disappointed."
Alex paused for a bit, looking at the Beast God before slowly nodding. "I shall keep my expectations in check, senior."
The Beast God nodded. "How are the Pillbugs doing?"
"The same as before. All they do is consume blood. I don’t think they’re going to stop within this month," Alex said.
The Beast God gave a thoughtful nod. "Are they beginning to Fasten though?"
Alex couldn’t answer. He wasn’t sure himself. "They are so attracted to my blood that they already follow me around. So they’ve either been Fastened long ago, or they’ve yet to even start doing so."
The Beast God crossed her arms. "I believe they have been Fastened."
"Oh?" Alex let out a surprised voice. "Did something similar happen for you, senior?"
"No. In fact, something opposite happened. They never cared about my presence when I was raising them. They just sat there until I poured them some blood and went back to being docile when I didn’t," she explained. "In your case, however, the blood they’re drinking is directly tied to you, so they recognize your aura already. There are blood ticks out there that can learn your aura by directly feeding on your blood. These Pillbugs must be the same as well."
"Oh," Alex said, scratching his chin. "Then I suppose they might have begun being Fastened. Or maybe they’ve even already been fastened."
"I would think the same," the Beast God said. She began asking a few more questions right there, and Alex answered what he could.
He had noticed that her attitude toward him had changed since their meeting on the first day in various subtle ways. Firstly, it seemed she was accustomed to his status as the Half-God and no longer showed any hints surrounding his aura.
Secondly, she treated him less like a walking disaster and more like an actual person. After talking to each other more than a few times, she had grown familiar with him.
It might also have been the fact that she was trying to become a friend with him to not get on his bad side, but either way, she had changed.
That being said, she was still a God and a ruler of a continent, so she didn’t do much more.
Alex looked away from the ship from time to time, watching the various forests, cities, and rivers they passed along. He asked a few questions regarding the Holy Beast Empire and how they had come to become a nation so intertwined with the beasts.
But the answer was as simple as one could expect it to be.
"When the previous Sky God placed these Teleportation Formations, ours was the one that led to the Beast realms. So, we interacted more with beasts than any of the others as a result."
"Senior Sacredlotus was also friendly with the beasts, and it needn’t even be mentioned that my master loved them very much. Over time, this became the haven for all Beasts who didn’t live in the Beast realm."
"There are other places where you will also find beasts, but truthfully speaking, nowhere else will you find them as openly as you do in my continent."
