"Yes..." I said with an exhausted breathe.
Then, I stood up as the armor on my body repaired itself with the Regenerate skill.
I took a slow breathe, then I spoke.
"You sit on your throne, looking down on people. Calling the weak, easy to control!".
I took a step backwards.
"You see their kindness, there fear, their struggles and you think lesser of them".
"But that exactly why humanity is worth protecting!" I finished and spun around and began walking away.
It wasn’t long after that I saw Thunderlash staring at the sky like he was expecting some kind of divine intervention to fall from the heavens.
"What is that?"
I shot up to take a quick glance. What I saw out a genuine grin on my face.
A huge balloon about the size of an air ship floated above Sector D like a hovering bird.
On the side of the huge balloon, their was a familiar sign embedded on its body.
"Ballon Burster!!"
The massive balloon soared higher in the air and then— Boom!
It burst with a massive release of pressure. Out of the balloon, a rain of blue mist spread through the atmosphere and infused itself into the clouds.
Just like that, it began to rain almost instantly. For some reason, the blue dust had triggered rain to fall almost instantly.
The minions who were still alive began to run helter skelter on seeing their master lying motionless on the floor.
The infected humans began to transform back to their original form as a result of the rain.
This was the Antidote.
This was Boomerang Mans doing.
He saved the people!.
Boomerang arrived on a motorcycle that had the logo of the ISA branded on it. A face mask was strapped to his face to shield him against the fog.
"Hey Ren! What do you think! Like it?" He yelled as he came to a screeching halt, his tyre scarping against the wet asphalt.
He hoped off his bike with an exaggerated enthusiasm, his arms spread wide like he was waiting for an applause.
"Did you see that?!" He exclaimed, practically bouncing on his heels. "I mean, I knew it would work, but seeing it in action? Ma, that was beautiful!"
I offered a firm nod, "You did good buddy," I said simply.
He grinned clearly pleased with himself and I was too, a blimp sized balloon filled with the Antidote was quite the brilliant idea.
"That’s enough," Ice Blasts said, stepping forward. The frost around her didn’t seem to melt off despite the downpour. Her eyes locked onto me, unreadable but firm. "We need to talk."
Thunderlash stood beside her, arms crossed over his chest piece. He looked less composed, his muscles tense as if he was waiting for an excuse to act.
"You’re an unregistered metahuman," he said bluntly. "And frankly, we don’t even know if you’re human."
I tilted my head, my gaze steady. "What do you mean? I’m completely human."
Then, without hesitation, I performed a slight nod and my helmet retracted till it stopped around my neck and chin region, completely exposing my face.
"There’s no need hiding it from you two, you know who my friend is here; Boomerang Man E-class Rank 84. It won’t take you long to realize who I am..."
"I am Reno Renly, E-class, Rank 50... And, I just saved both of you... The least you could do is let me walk away".
Ice Blast and Thunderlash exchanged glances.
"E-Class?! With all that power? E-Class?" Thunderlash asked with confusion written all over his.
"From what I saw he should be at least an A-Class or S-Class even." Ice Blast added.
"That is unless you had a second enlightenment event..." She finished, tilting her head slightly.
My blonde hair was drenched from the downpour as I stood there. I did have the power to take them down and be on my way, but I would have to Reassess soon and be registered as hero with a higher class.
"So you see... I am a hero, I’m not some ’unregistered meta’ running around causing havoc" I said while taking a shot at Thunderlash.
"I see his point..." Thunderlash said, finally releasing the tight folded arms and placing them on his waist.
"It would help if you’d refrain from using the mask..."
I nodded.
"Fine... We’ll report this to the ISA and let them take it from here. But don’t think this is over..." Ice Blast intoned and immediately blasted into the air releasing a sudden chill into the area.
Thunderlash just stared at me but didn’t protest, he pulled his surf board from his back where it was secured and it immediately ignited into a frenzy of electricity.
"We’re watching you," he said and hopped on the surf board, gliding away.
So now I had the ISA on my ass, and with the recent info they have of me it wouldn’t take long before the it would leak and guilds would scramble around me just to get my signature under their roster.
I don’t need that kind of attention, it’s distracting. I want to fight villains and get stronger and not limit myself to the rules and confinement of the hero system.
Boomerang Man clapped his hands together. "Well, now that they’re gone. How about we get out of here before the ISA clean up crew arrives?"
I gave him a nod. "Good idea."

ISA Headquarters
Tower A
Sector A
The meeting room of the International Superhuman Association was filled with tension.
The holographic display in the center of the long conference projected multiple images of the armored golden black figure who had single handedly turned the tide of the recent catastrophe that a B-Class villain named Gravehowl brought in Sector D.
The President of the ISA Viola Travis, along with other highest ranking officials of the ISA, sat in silence as they watched the footage play over and over again.
The armored man moved with calculated precision, deflected attacks from Gravehowl as if he was predicting it just seconds before it happened.
The speed.
The agility.
The precision.
The tactical awareness.
It was all superior and eye catching.
And very well far beyond what any known E-class hero should be capable of.
Finally, Dr. Holtz, head of the Hero Evaluation Division, broke the silence. "We’ve been able to confirm his identity," he said.
Tapped gently on his tablet, the screen shifted showing a digital hero profile. "Reno Renly, officially registered as an E-class, Rank 50 Hero. He isn’t affiliated with any Guilds and no sponsors".
Murmurs spread across the room.
It was absurd.
There’s no way an E-class would even have meta-powers talk more of possessing such a power.
"His output is on par with an A-Class or even an S-Class hero", another official noted. "We have to assume his recorded rank is completely inaccurate or forged maybe!"
At this point, the discussion shifted to testimonies from two well known B-Class heroes— Thunderlash and Ice Blast, both were present at the event and saw his show of strength first hand.
Thunderlash’s testimony appeared first. The screen showed him in a recorded interview, still looking tarted from the gruesome combat.
"I don’t know what the hell that guy is, but he’s not an E-class. I hit him with my strongest voltage and he fucking tanked it! Barely even flinched..."
"If you ask me, I say he’s lying cause ain’t no way that ’Bionic’ person could be an E-class... Tch Somebody check the Assessment Sphere see if it’s malfunctioning!"
The screen shifted to Ice Blast, who looked just as war stiken.
"He fights like a machine. No wasted movement. No hesitation. If that’s E-class then we need a whole new ranking system..."
Silence fell over the room as their brains processed what they had seen.
It was all so perplexing. Truly he didn’t show any characteristics of one with the E-Rank.
One of the officials leaned back in his chair, exhaling sharply, "An E-class shouldn’t be able to handle two B-Class heroes full power and come out untouched or unharmed. That alone puts him in either A or S-Class category."
"Not just that," another official chimed in. "Look at how he handled himself against Gravehowl... What the hell is that golden blast, it literally erased the villains heart with no burn marks"
An official from the licensing committee, Mr. Ken Takahashi frowned. "Then why the hell is he ranked so low? If he’s truly this powerful, how did he slip through the cracks?"
"Could be a deliberate deception," someone suggested.
"Or maybe he had a second enlightenment event... " President Viola blurted out completely shutting down everyone else in the room.
"A second enlightenment event... Has that ever happened before and the individual came out this strong?" Dr. Hortz asked folding his arms against his chest.
She remained silent for a few seconds, her fingers drumming lightly on the table.
The weight of the situation was clear. They had to put a tag on him because if he decided to turn to the villain side, it’ll obviously mean bad news for the civilians.
She leaned forward, finally speaking. Her voice calm but held an undeniable authority.
"Very well, folks," she said, locking her eyes with each and evey person seated at the conference table.
"We might just have the world’s 30th S-Class hero".
The room fell silent once more...
