Extra's Perfect Ending-Chapter 200: Mountains Situation
Hilda asks because of two reasons. One it’s basic procedure to ask whatever deal you will get into. The more detail there is the more solid the decision. This is what she had been taught by house Antores.
The second reason was the fact that Egul seemed to be fixated on three months of working time. Normally when one counters a deal, the other party would compromise. But this is over-compensation. A mystic artifact is very hard to find or craft.
Holding onto one could boost the user’s fighting power by 1 or more circles depending on how well it synergizes with your power. So giving Hilda one as a payment is too much, even for her work.
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on ƒreewebɳovel.com.
That means there has to be something going on in the tribe, something terrible enough to employ her help.
Egul crossed his arms and began talking.
"As you know, the border of the northern mountain has been owned by our Frost Fang tribe for hundreds of years. We have been fighting against the empire for most of it and recently there’s some weird movement in Guragua. The priest started burning the village and the main town itself is also not doing so great. It’s the perfect time to attack Guragua."
"You want me to betray the empire and attack Guragua?"
"No such thing, we could do that ourselves. The thing we need you to deal with is in the woods. You see, after they burn down the village, the wood are starting to become weirder and weirder. So, we need a helping hand, as much as we can get"
"What is this "weird" thing in the woods?"
"It’s hard to describe, the wolf and elkut start becoming duller but more aggressive. It’s like they are irritated at something."
"Then I don’t see the problem? As you said, they became duller, wouldn’t it be easier to deal with them?’
"I wish that was the case, however when they became dull, they also have increased strengths. Normal hunters are having a hard time dealing with this and it’s eating at our supplies for the winter. So we need every mystic we can get our hands on. At least for these few mouths. That’s why I’m in these parts of the empire trying to get our brothers back. So are you in?"
Hilda looks at Egul and sees that he has no point in lying. Plus there have been such cases in the past where heretics did something to the wild life then they went berserk. In that case, the church has to mobilize one of the biggest forces to eliminate all the threats in the area.
"Fine"
She would like to consult with Reeva on this but, she wouldn’t have the chance. Reeva is still with the church and she doesn’t know what his plan is. Going back now would likely result in a sticky situation.
The only path for her now is forward since this deal will give Theia the power to transform into a circle mystic. Which is much better than a star. Changing her future forever, while Hilda just has to kill some creature for 3 mouths.
It’s a fair trade that Reeva would urge her to take.
"Good, let’s get moving"
Egul had no time to waste now, and with this, he was able to secure some help for his tribe. Heading back is the best option here. Leon and Hilda follow the large man and disappear into the mountain range. Theia still sleeping on HIlda’s back.
-------------
The divination priest is only in the 1st circle, he has no chance of divining a location of a 5th circle mystic even if he targets the person that is traveling with them, the 5th circle mystic power would have still blocked him from divining anything useful.
The priest then came up with something useful, if you can’t divine the person directly then you could divine the footprint that they left behind. While traveling they discovered that there were abnormally deep holes in the snow that created a line.
By divining the answer they were able to guess that it was likely Egul’s power that let them walk through the snow with ease. From there, they follow the trail up until a certain point.
They arrive at a red cloth that is painted with blood.
"These savages...."
The divination priest quickly got an answer from the god that this was not human blood. However, it is still a bad look for the barbarian.
"Commander Lena..."
"I know.."
Lena answers the question instantly. She knew exactly what the divination priest was about to ask. Because from this point onward, there’s no footprint to follow anymore. They disappear like a ghost.
Their pursuit ends here, with nothing to follow. Lena grits her teeth and wishes that she could follow them but she can’t. There’s the possibility that this was an ambush, and he would be walking into a group of tribesmen waiting to jump her.
At that point, her life would end.
"Let’s head back"
There is no point in wasting her time here, they still have one more heretic left. They could still get information from that guy instead. Leaping from the now, she disappears back to where the group of priests is.
Boom!
They now flay up when she lands in front of Plutus.
"They got away" She report to Plutus. Who was a bit startled by the sudden visit?
"Dammit"
The young priest takes her word at face value since the knight commander has much credit for her name.
"I could try following them but there’s a potential of ambush. They also travel faster than our group so we can’t catch up... I’m afraid we can’t track them anymore. But we still have a lead"
Lena looked over to Reeva, who couldn’t hear what he was saying and looked back smiling. Plutus broke an awkward smile and pulled her to the side, far away from the other priest.
"Miss Lena... Reeva has... um.... become an apostle of the sun god"
