The poison spread through the deer like a snake, the poor thing got up and tried to charge at the person but, it discovered that its body was awfully heavy. The charge felt like it was dragging a bunch of bodies instead of the usual fast run.

"Happy?"

Athan asked the person who would have to bring him to the top of the mountain. Even watching from far away, Egul couldn’t help but be amazed, usually, normal people without power would need a considerable amount of skill to hunt a twisted deer but, with this poison, an average hunter could do the job.

"It works well, enough"

Egul confirmed that the poison even worked better than he anticipated, it only made him wonder what the finished version looked like.

"Then hold up your end of the deal."

"...." Egul looked at the guy again "When do you want to go?"

"Right now?"

Athan tilted his head, he expected the deal to be upheld immediately. Egul felt a bit of a headache.

"I couldn’t, right now. The tribes still needed me. We will go a bit later once my tribe finished relocating"

Egul sighed, he also wanted the full version of the poison but Athan was not bulging on its condition.

"Even though your tribe will benefit more with the full version of the poison?"

"If you’re worried then please provide the poison"

"Nope"

"Then you’d had to wait a bit, if I’m gone, my tribe will have to hold out with only my wife to protect them. If the wave of monster strikes again then our loss would be greater than last time."

As much as Egul wants to have every one of his tribe’s friends, some are lost to the sudden attack. Even with his power of a fifth circle mystic sometimes you can’t save everyone.

"huh... I remember your tribe had 4 chiefs, leader... whatever they’re called, where are the other two?"

It’s widely available information, that the first fang tribes consisted of 4 leaders and one shaman.

"The other had a mission to fulfill and was not available at the moment."

"Tch" The guy clicked his tongue "Then I would have to put a time limit on the deal"

Egul eyebrow twitched, he was a bit pissed about how the doctor acted. Athan even disrespected his wife.

"There is no time limit on the deal"

"There are now, if we do not set out by tomorrow then my mouth you’d be sealed forever."

Egul gritted his teeth, he wanted to punch the guy again but couldn’t bring himself to do it. The guy held very powerful information. He did his best not to piss the doctor off but, it’s getting harder and harder to hold back since the guy kept piling on these demands.

"No, we waited for one of the chiefs to arrive. You would have a hard time climbing the tallest peak since it’s cold. One mishap and your body could end up frozen in an endless cycle. You need my power to get up there safely. Give me more time and I’ll bring you to the top myself."

The doctor looked at Egul and smiled.

"Fine, let’s make that 3 days how does that sound?"

"5 and we have a deal"

"Okay, waiting was my strong point after all"

Egul rolled his eyes, he couldn’t believe the guy that rushed him to travel to the mountain n was saying that.

Finally, the knight had been fully healed his body rested on the ground, sleeping peacefully to regenerate his energy. He panted and brushed his hand off after healing the guy.

"He should be fine after a bit of rest, keep an eye on him if something weird happens."

Max told the nearby knight that was friends with Flolo. The knight nodded and went back to partially resting on the tree roots.

seeing that Max turned away and walked back to Reeva, who didn’t seem to be in a good mood. The boy was sitting on the snow-covered ground thinking about something.

"It’s not your fault your holiness, it just happened too fast."

Max knew how much Reeva cared about people, and he knew that Reeva had the power to protect them. However, someone died in the wall of vines. So it’s not hard to guess what the young boy thinks.

"I could’ve saved him if I wasn’t so indecisive"

"Your power had limitations, right? It’s not your fault that you had to consider that when using it."

Reeva felt a bit of pang in his heart, the only consequence for such power was he had to wait a day to activate safely. It’s far less important than a human life.

"....."

"Your holiness, nobody would have faulted you for it. It’s already a miracle that we all survived this long against whatever we are fighting. It’s all thanks to you that we could go this far."

"We survived thanks to you guys, I didn’t do much"

To begin with, he only had one circle of power and it was a power that was useless fighting against normal people. Moreover, the twisted animal didn’t have any mystic power on them so he was useless without his demon mode.

Max sat down next to Reeva, and

"When I was a young priest I also think like you. If I had tried a little better then I could have saved everyone. I trained hard and reached the fourth circle but it’s still the same. I could not save everyone. However, that doesn’t mean you are bad at your job. Look at the people around us, Max and I could do this. If we lead it, half of the people would be gone by now"

"Don’t underestimate yourself..."

However, before Reeva could finish his word, he stopped.

"The same goes for you. We have faith in you your holiness and you should have faith in yourself too"

Reeva looked at Max who was smiling warmly at him. And he smiled back, a warm fuzzy feeling struck deep in his heart, and a yellow fog seeped out of the healing priest’s body.
