Extra's Perfect Ending-Chapter 264: Vines again
Reeva felt miles better than before. Talking to Max had boosted his self-confidence a bit however, they’re not out of the danger zone yet.
Getting out through the vine wall seemed to be impossible since it was too think for them, Reeva could properly activate the demon mode and power through but the people here wouldn’t be able to cross.
As the acting apostle, abandoning the people would not look good on his resume beside he couldn’t abandon the people because, well, they’re people.
"Let’s find a skirt on the walls"
That’s the only solution he had in mind, the fire had been effective in deterring the vines but they were differnt from the animal which had instruct and eyes, the vines could feel the fire but didn’t fear it.
That’s why Reeva didn’t want to take a chance. They were able to get out last time because they were close to the way they came in. If the vines lure them further and attack with all it had, then Reeva and the group would sure to perish.
The horse ran along the mountain range, trying to find a part of the wall that hadn’t been closed off but no matter how far they ran, the wall seemed to be endless, like they had observed earlier.
After the sun grew orange, Reeva had to call off, the traveling for today. Their horse was too tired because it didn’t run at full speed, but hours of traveling were wearing it down. They set up another camp to rest for today.
"At this pace, we would only have about 3 days worth of food"
Max said with a serious tone, they were meeting with just three of them. The healing priest just came after checking their inventory
"I thought we had a week left at least."
Reeva said, remembering the estimate Max had given him before.
"Some of our supplies are lost in the attack so we only have three days of food left, and that assuming we ration it efficiently. The knights would go hungry with their high-energy activity and the villagers would only eat crumbs of food.... we need to get more food somehow."
"...."
Reeva felt heavier than before, this time the lives of the people depended on him again but this time in a different manner.
"Got any solutions?"
"Right now, we are here," Max said, whipping out a map. He had already prepared a solution. His hand pointed at the area in Duranberg, how a middle of the way out of Duranberg. Max had used the Reeva method to find where they were.

"Just half a day, we could reach here" Max pointed at another triangle dot on the map, denoting a village. "Assuming they got attacked like us, they must have already evacuated the place and since they’re this close to the wall I doubt they would be locked up. Which means there might be some food left over."
Reeva nodded, the village would react the same if they were flooded with monsters. Abandoning their food while escaping the jaws of monsters.
"What if they didn’t escape?"
Quin asked with a serious face, they would need to help more people and their knights would be spread thin. More even if they got more supplies they would also have more mouths to feed.
"Then we’d need to find the wall opening. The village likely had tons of food since it’s the winter. It could last us all quite a long time and we will use that time to search for the exit."
"What if the place was filled with monsters?" This time Quin asked with an even more serious place. From their experience, having the monster in the village wasn’t out of the question.
"Then I will deal with them."
Reeva said with confidence, that his demon mode could kill a deer easily since the deer didn’t have any mystic power. However, if there’s a tree, then it would be a slight problem. He’s pretty sure that his fist couldn’t hurt the tree.
"Apostle we can’t..."
Quin worried for Reeva but he shut it down
"Don’t worry, you already saw how strong my power was"
"What if something goes wrong?"
"My power wasn’t that weak, just let me do it. You could also come if you want to ensure my safety"
He knew very well that his mystic power was as powerful as the void power. So if he wasn’t faced with a mystic that had a sneaky power, he would be winning quite easily.
"...."
Quin stayed silent so Reeva took it as the guy giving him permission. They discussed a bit of strategy before they took the rest.

Holen and the two knights find themself in a peculiar situation. Turned out that running for your life in a random direction could get you lost.
Now they’re stuck in an unfamiliar land in the northern part of Eyre. Too far removed from any civilization to randomly stumble upon a road.
Moreover, the tribes of people here hate the empire, it was built into the blood of every people here. Not by the adults but by the empire, they constantly tried to invade the northern front and failed.
"Let’s stop here for today"
They quickly set up camp and start a fire to keep themself warm. Oven, Holen, and Jell sat around looking depressed in their own ways.
"I’m sorry"
Holen was the first person to open his mouth, he realized he had to break the silence somehow. "If this great detective had looked into this more, We could have avoided all of this."
Oven gritted his teeth, and the outrage that he prepared for Holen quickly dissipated. However, he still couldn’t be recovered from losing two of his friends in one day.
"Shut up"
"....."
"It’s not his fault Oven, if he had known he would have prepared for it. Besides, we knew that this could be a possibility."
Jell tried to calm his friend down. He also felt down but needed to stop Oven from going out of line. Having a fractured team when they’re stranded on the northern continent was a bad move. But Oven was far too emotional to realize that.
