The mother cried out as the crescent blade slashed through her. The green gem revealed itself from the bundle of vines. Quin circled his word back, his slash earlier did not cut deep enough.

His heart was pounding from anticipation, the blade ran through the vines again but this time there was nothing blocking the green gem now. Moreover, the vines couldn’t move because the torch priest was pulling one of its vines.

The blade slashed through the green gem cracking the shining piece of work apart. Like a stone traveling through glass, the sharp shatter everywhere hitting many of the vines on the way out. The crescent sword fully cut all the vines and dismembered the female vine body. All the vines in the area immediately go limb.

"Yeshh!!!"

The torch priest screamed out loud, if Reeva was here then the yellow fog would be abundant. But before she could celebrate the occasion fully, he turned around and grimaced. There’s still work to be done. The injuries from the vine wouldn’t be naturally healed.

Max could also move his boy again, however, he could hardly go anywhere. The wound from the twisting flesh was too severed. Even just being alive felt pain. However, Max gritted his teeth and got up from the vines.

The people still needed him, the civilians were by far the worse when it came to these injuries since the knight and priest had some training that made them tolerant of pain. And as one knows, the method to cure the twisting flesh was not a pretty sight to behold.

"Sir Max, could you help, me please...."

’Sir Max"

The healing priest’s breath became heavier. His hand glided over to help the people but he had to make sure that the people could take it. She equipped a knife from his robe and used it to cut a piece of shirt from the civilian cloth. It’s a sizable chunk.

"Bit on this, it will be painful"

To stop people from biting anything else when under intense pain. The villager looked dreadful but bit on the cloth anyway bracing himself for the biggest pain that he would get in this life.

"AGHHHHH"

The scream rang through the forest, it was louder than any other scream that they heard. However, it was not a civilian who made that sound. It came from a priest, the fire torch priest to be exact.

Quin looked over, checking the guy to see what happened. However, the sight shook him to his core. the torch priest was pierced in the leg by vines. It went right through his tight. Blood soaked out of the wound.

Quin acted immediately and rushed over to the priest, hoping to cut the vines that intertwined them. However just as he was about to reach the torch priest, a vine also pierced through his foot stopping him from going anywhere.

"Shit!"

She cursed as the vines pushed out from under the snow, more and more of them surrounded him and the other people. At that moment Quin could not feel anything but despair.

"I like that face of yours a lot"

A cracking voice sounded from underneath the snow, a second later a bundle of vines popped out of the ground, revealing a female form of vines. Quin couldn’t handle his emotion anymore, he looked at the vine in a mix of anger and hatred.

"You, wretched demon arghhh"

He gritted his teeth mid-sentence, and the vine that pierced through his body started releasing the mystic power, Quin could feel his body being twisted in real time. His hand gripped the crescent sword and slashed out the vines from his thigh. However, after he was free from one, another took its place, this time it went right through his hand.

With just a bit of mystic power, his hand felt pain and lost its grip on the sword. The crescent sword fell on the snow and the vine grabbed it, the mystic fire that burned bright was no longer there. Only a normal sword was left.

The vine brought the sword closer to the female vines, and the mother acted curious and looked at the sword with intrigue.

"Did you enjoy it? The moment of hope"

"....."

Quin was mad, furious at the demon that toyed with him. He wanted to yell out and cut down the demon right then and there. But the vine that pierced right through his right hand wouldn’t let him go. His whole body was yanked back when he rushed at the female vines.

More grey tendrils then pierce all four of his limbs, incapacitating the priest. His face twisted with anger, even without the vine’s mystic power.

"I love the face you make"

The vine moved closer to his face, its voice still as dreadful as ever.

"...."

Quin held strong, other than an occasional grunt of pain he didn’t answer the vines.

"you’re quite strong~ let’s see how you react to this then"

The vine made it through the floor again but this time it piece through the middle of the torch priest’s body. Then the vine held him up high for everyone to gaze at what was about to happen.

"ArghHHHH!"

The torch prest scream, his white robe was now filled in blood from the initial process when the vine entered his body. But from that point on there was something else he had to deal with.

The vines ribbed his robes out, showing the priest’s skin that started twisting bit by bit. However, it’s much more than that. The vines were directly in his body.

"Please aghhhh have mercy on me!!!!! my inside! my inside aghhhhh"

Just from the scream, Quiin knew what happened. He closed his eyes to avoid such tragedy but the vines forced it open. He had no choice but to watch as one of his teammates started to twist.

Boom!

However before that could fully take place, the sound of an explosion came in. Something just flew at the vines with a massive amount of speed. As the snow dust settled, it was Reeva who walked out of the snow. His mouth curves up into a smile. In his hand was the torch [roest that passed out from all the pain he endured.

"Hello, Mother have you been waiting?"

"...."

The vines answered him in a form of attack. Three grey vines flew at Reeva at a good speed. However, it couldn’t reach Reeva, his raw mystic power had already canceled out the attack.

"Why so hostile, aren’t you here for me?

Reeva playfully asked the collection of vines that looked like a human.

"Who are you really?"

She knew that a piece of her was lost to Reeva, and from their vision Reeva was a total monster no less than a fraction of her. So the best way to deal with this happy demon was to reassemble herself again. But that ran the risk of exposing herself to the other priest.

Since she could not lead them on a goose chase anymore after merging.

Let risk it

She could feel that Reeva would be her biggest worriees if she let him grow. A demon with this much power without being totally out of control was dangerous.. like herself. Fortunately, she was born before this demon and had a lot of advantages.

For one he had the biggest advantage in terms of people right now, he could hold them hostage.....

"HAHAHAHAh"

However before she could even offer Reeva a deal, the people that’s on the floor had already begun laughing. The vines would be lying if they ay they weren’t shocked.

"Why the hell did you do that?"

"You already injected them with your mystic no? I just wanted to make them feel better than they did now. And more importantly, it generates happiness for me" Surge of yellow fog grew around the area.

Some reside in the people to combat the vine’s mystic power and some just seep outside of the body. Reeva didn’t wait for the vines to do something more stupid and quickly closed in. He settled the torch priest on the snow floor and quickly traveled to the vines.

The vine tried to combat Reeva but his skin was so infused by mystic that it couldn’t be price. And if the vine mystic body crashed with him, then he would just fill the space with more mystics.

The people, here all produce yellow fog for Reeva making him almost invincible when it comes to mystic clash. And Reeva planned to take advantage of this. He arrived at the female vine and pushed it.

His hand crushed the grey vine and went straight through the female body. He assumed that the gem would be in the middle of its body, however, it seem like he guessed wrong.

"Where’s your core?"

Reeva asked, still playfully smiling.

"Not where you expected it to be."

The vine shot out at Reeva again, but it was more numerous this time. However, Reeva did not care. There was too much mystic power around him, and he could fight with the vines for a long time.
