Reeva stood in the snowy forest. Thinking of a way he could have survived this fight with everyone alive. He knew it was too unrealistic but he had to believe. Otherwise, something like that might not happened at all.

"What are you going to do then?"

They were already pushing the limits of the people here. The mystic power that they had injected into the people earlier was a one-time thing. Reeva injected the mystic power into their skin and did not let it seep in deeper.

He had to have significant control over mystic power which this demon body could afford. However, Their skin had already reached the limit of mystic power. If they received any more, the people here would end up turning into mindless joy demons. All of them would be far worse than Reeva since he still had some resemblance to himself when turning into a demon while The other did not have this luxury since they themself didn’t possess the mystic power.

"We run," Reeva said, looking at all the people

"That’s delusional, how far could we get, the horse already couldn’t handle it"

Reeva looked around and as the demon said, the horse had already fallen down, most of them couldn’t run anymore, and some could have a big twisted pile of skin that constantly exuded pain into their body making them permanently on the floor.

"Then we walk"

Reeva said, still holding onto this hope. The other half of his face morphed into anger, and the demon spoke with a deep voice.

"Don’t kid yourself we can’t...."

"We needed to try," Reeva cut off his demon self words, his eyes still filled with determination. "Are you guys willing to follow me" He turned to look at the people that starting to come to their senses. They could handle the pain a little bit now.

"Yes"

Quin was the first to answer, he already received the healing from Max and was in a better condition than anyone else here, other than Reeva. Max then glanced at Reeva then sighed.

"We will follow the apostle"

He got on his knees and the other followed, the people in the village picked up their wounded bodies. All bowing down to Reeva, ready for the march that was about to ensue. At this point they knew they wouldn’t make it out anymore but, they would follow Reeva, anyway, they’re willing to believe in something. And who’s better to belive in than the apostle of the sun god.

The demon became speechless.

"Apostle..."

A weak voice sounded from behind the people, Reeva focused on it and discovered that it was the mother of the child who was calling out for him. Reeva arrived in front of her and observed, a bit of fear apparent on his face.

"Please... help my child...."

She was weakly holding her child, trying her best to present it to Reeva, it was a big ask for the apostle of the church to be protecting the child. However, Reeva didn’t view it as such. His heart arched, the moment he saw what happened to the little girl. Half her stomach had already turned twisted.

Because her body was small. Just one injection of mystic power had a drastic effect on her. From his estimation, she would need a powerful healer to get her out of this condition. Her breathing was ragged and uneven. Grasping for whatever air her lungs could use.

"I will"

Reeva didn’t know what to answer, his mind occupied with how to get them out of this situation. He put the girl on his back and turned to the people.

"Pick yourself up! If there is somebody that can’t then help them! I know you guys feel a lot of pain right now, but ask yourself this, Do you want to lay here and accept your fate or walk with me, to see a miracle happen!"

"We will walk with you apostle!"

"We walk!"

"We walk!"

"We walk!"

The chanting became louder and louder, Reeva felt goose bump as these barely alive people started having hope. They rise up one by one, helping each other out. some couldn’t even wake up from how painful the wound was but most of them could still walk.

"Let’s go!"

Reeva started moving, and he and Quin were on the lookout for Mother’s attack. Reeva constantly probed with the green gem to see where the mother was. Keeping an eye on her attack. They were now stuck in a stalemate where Reeva has currently had the upper hand.

If the mother was not careful enough then he could pulled her body out directly but if Reeva was not on full alert he would lose someone in the crowd. However, this balance would be immediately broken once one of the two things occurs.

Either he ran out of time or the mother merged, then he would be dead.

They continued to walk along the snow, some people were dripping blood from the wound they inflicted upon themself. The pain of flesh being torn off was far nicer than the constant twisting of the flesh, at least the latter one could be bandaged up.

Half an hour passed by like this, with nothing happening, Reeva was able to maintain vigilant over the vines, and when Mother tried to jump them, Reeva was already on top. And once she detected that he was near, she would stop the attack. However, this was likely only used as a way to wear him out. She knew that she would be the one winning in the end.

"Demon, please help them...."

After half an hour, Reeva [Expiriment] finally ran out, his body turned from that of a half-demon to only a normal human. The people that was walking behind couldn’t see it but Quin could feel it. The Reeva they once knew were back now.

However, that was not the best outcome they could had. Quin and Max nervously glance at each other and decide to not say anything. From what they knew, the mother might only have a way to detect sound but not visual. Judging from the fact that she had no eyes.

If they maintain this, they could fool the mother even for a little bit. They march on further and Reeva still maintains his mystic power to activate the gemstone. His demon mode made it possible for him to control the yellow fog outside of his body but, now he could only control the fog inside of his body.

However, that doesn’t stop him from using artifacts. He himself still had a ton of mystic power since the phone reverted him back to when he didn’t fight with the mother at all. Moreover, he still had the mystic power that he saved in the energy function. that would last him about an hour if he periotic checked the stone and prayed that the mother attack was not as frequent.

The people who didn’t know this walked on, their eyes still full of hope and depression. Reeva adjusted the kid on his back and continued to walk. He injected a bit of power to check if the vines were doing something funny. Their journey continued until Mother finally made a move.

Reeva quickly arrived at the location where the mother wanted to appear like always. From the vibration, Reeva could feel the mother stop. But then the mother resumed her activity. The vines sprouted from the ground, directly into Reeva’s face.

However, he knew what was coming and dodged it by a mere second before it had a hole in his head. Then the vines form into the shape of a female human.

"You ran out of power huh?"

"How did you..."

"You are far slower than before and your step became uneven, then ...back to even again. That means something changed... And I was right"

Reeva got chills down his spine from how accurate her guess was. A massive amount of vines pushed out of the female body. She didn’t need to wait for herself to merge anymore if Reeva couldn’t fight back.

However just when the vines shot out, Reeva’s eyes turned yellow, and his sclera became pitch black again. The mother was unaware of this change and was surprised by the increased speed Reeva suddenly had.

At that moment she couldn’t retract her vines fast enough Reeva quickly grabbed it and pulled out the whole thing. The snow on the ground splashed everywhere from the force. Dirt, vine, and rock got pulled out from underground but more importantly the gem a also pulled out.

It couldn’t hide the green shine in the bundle of vines. The joy demon smirked, and Yellow fog seeped from its body before it kicked the ground. Propelling himself closer to the bundle of vines.

His hand curled up in a ball and punched as hard as he could. The vines came apart from the force of his punch. The green gem got pushed from the vines disconnecting all of the vines that it controlled.

Instantly all vines that shot from her earlier was lifeless. A brighter smile appeared on Reeva’s face, it looked like his demon self was able to discern his plans. However before he could celebrate, the green gem that flew off was not enveloped with vines.
