Extra's Perfect Ending-Chapter 314: Book of heaven
"Finally...."
Athan felt relief after he arrived at the place where the book of heaven was kept. They weren’t at the top of Carmel Peak but at an opening at the side of the mountain, way above the cloud.
"You act like you climb it yourself"
Egul sneered at the immortal man, halfway through the climb Egul needed to pull the guy up because Athan was exhausted.
"Hey! It’s not like I have a 5th-circle pristine body that would not get tired"
"Tch, at least build some muscle. You looked like a twig, even the little girl down there looked better shape than you." Egul surveyed Athan’s body again and was fairly disappointed. The guy was built just like an empire person who hadn’t used their body for hard labor for years.

"Every time I die, my body reset" Atahn explained his excuse "I actually have a fine body until someone came along and decided to ruin it for me. I had built that one for like 40 years or something"
"Yet you died to a maid, you claim to have lived for a long time but you can’t really fight"
"As I said, my body reset! Along with muscle memory and stuff. Even if I trained, my body couldn’t keep up with what I wanted to do and end up being less effective."
Egul chatted a bit with Athan before leading the way. Athan looked pretty bored when he had to hear a lecture on how to exercise from a bear-looking buy.
The opening on the side of the mountain looked like it was created naturally by Mother Nature. it rocks and stones were jagged in random places and the sound of their footstep was solid.
Finally, after walking for a bit, something differnt came into view. It was an architecture of some sort. A room that was locked by a door in front. Its design was a white marbled carve with 4 being dancing around one. The wall that accompanied it was a clear white marble wall.
However, just beside the door, there was some sort of tool. It piqued Athan’s interest so he picked it up. Inspecting it up close he could tell that it was a head of a pickaxe.
"It broke when I got here"
"Your first time?"
"Yea, it endured a enough journey so I let it rest here."
From the look of the metal, it must be too many years since someone has actually been here. After satisfying his curiosity, Athan looked at the door again. He gulped down a saliva, anticipating what was inside. If he got his hand on it, he could finally achieve his goal.
"This is it?"
"Yep, it’ll hurry inside"
"Sure"
Egul pushed the big door open. Thing had some resistance but ultimately Egul’s circle strength made it easy. Inside the door was a bit dark. Egul gets out his lighter and lit up a piece of cloth on a stick that he prepared.
The first time he got here, he almost died here. It was a second miracle after he survived that storm. He wandered inside thinking there was a forbidden treasure that would help him become more powerful.
Ultimately, he got what he wanted, not only were there were 3 treasures, but he also became 5th circle mystic.
The fire lit the place and it was a long hallway filled with nothing but marble slabs. On the floor, three tiles presented themselves, each a square meter. The tiles repeat themself as far as the torchlight could see.
"I’m sure you’d love this place. It’s a trap that could kill you. Walk behind if you don’t want to get killed"
Egul didn’t wait for any repone and walked forward. Athan had no choice but to follow the big guy into the tiles. The walk was not fast but Athan didn’t complain. He himself didn’t want to die... However, he also had a question.
"Can’t we just walk through the trap with your power?"
The tribesman who was focusing on detecting the trap turned his head around and looked at Athan. He then broke the short end of the torch and threw it into the right tiles next to him. The wood didn’t hit the tile and sunk into the floor.
"We better not risk the unknown" Egul said "But you could give it a try. Maybe sure to tell me the antidote before jumping in"
"I’m not that stupid, let’s continue"
Athan was a bit spooked by the rock disappearing. He sure would be completely fine but if he got stuck inside some weird place, it would be hard to get out even if he used a rune. Just as Egul said, he would not take that chance.
They walked in silence until they finally found an exit. It was a room that was brighter than the hallway. As they walked in they could see what illuminated it, it was a blue crystal that seemed to emit light, albeit pretty dim compared to the torch.
At the center of a room, sat a podium. At the podium, one item was floating. It was what they were after, the Book of Heaven. Its appearance was that of a book that you could find in the Empire Library.
From Athan’s research, it had been called by many names and the book of heaven was the most popular. The immortal quickly dash forward, grabbing a hold of the book and opening it. Inside was the most incomprehensible thing that he had ever read but he could actually understand it.
"Last time I couldn’t bring the book out of this place no matter what I did. Could your rune do it?" Egul hadn’t really seen the effect of this rune that Athan advertised, this was the time to see for himself.
"Watch"
Atahn started his drawing, using a chalk that he brought with himself, he drew the run directly on the book. After drawing for ten minutes he finally finished the rune, then the light shone brightly as the book lost its levitation and rested on the podium.
Athan gulped as he reached his hand out and grabbed the book.
"Finally..." he muttered in a low voice
"Give me the recipe," Seeing that the book retrieval was successful Egul quickly demanded his part of the deal. Athan snapped out of his daze reached into a pocket and handed the tribe guy a piece of paper. Egul quickly opened it up, eager to know what’s inside.
As he read, his brows became a tangle with each other.
"Sun church divine relic?" Egul said "Are you stupid? how would I get that?"
Athan shrugged at Egul’s reaction, to that piece of paper he really gave him the recipe that could kill the mother. even the Sun church was unaware of this since he experimented with it himself.
"That’s the recipe, it works I tested it in the past"
"You had a divine relic?"
"Had" I don’t anymore," Athan said the word ’Had’ very loudly. "I could get my hand on the relic but the sun church would take it right back. Their power was problematic when you teal their stuff."
"Is there a way to steal it?"
Egul asked
"There is.... but, my deal with you is done here," Athan said "Unless you wanted to make another deal. I also have another recipe that utilizes the sun relic used for healing. I could throw that in too if you agree"
"What do you want" Egul felt like he jut got scammed for the second time. However, he also felt like this guy knew his stuff, just from the recipe Egul could see this poison working against the deer and the flesh trees.
Athan revealed a smiled.
"I want the book of the earth if you could help me find it...."
"Oh really...."
The sound cut off Athan in the middle of his entrance. His hair stood up as he looked at the source of the sound. The voice felt deep primal and filled with endless malice. Egul quickly activates his power in response to the voice. He never felt much strongly about something from just hearing a person talk.
In the darkness of the room, red eyes shine brightly. The marble floor made a sound as a figure step out. A golden crown reflected the blue light of the crystal and the orange light of the torch.
His attire was that of a royal, one filled with purple color and lavish with jewels and patterns. However hi body no longer had any flesh. It was jut a bone, a skeleton fo someone.
"Who are you?"
Atahn felt curious, he had never been this cared for a long time now. For a split second, he thought that he actually had a chance to die. The skeleton looked at Athan and Egul.
"The blessed and the curse, why are you here for the book of heaven... you even had [Release]...."
"We are just curious explorers..."
Athan tried to lie, he was pretty sure that if they run, this thing would be faster than them.
"Nonense, there shouldn’t be any bleses one left... You need to die!"
