"Your sense of humor has improved my liege"

The person said while letting out a light laugh, however, the emperor didn’t seem to share that sentiment.

"..." The human then looked at the emperor closely "By any chance have you not been eating well? you looked rather flimsy..."

"Knock it off," The emperor said "We are wasting time here"

"Can’t we just take a breather? Oh, wait you couldn’t...."

"Shut up," The emperor said with a commanding voice

"Hahaha" The person then laughed at the emperor again. Then that guy turned to look around the room and saw that the situation they were in was strange. "What’s happening here?"

"We needed to build our empire again"

Upon hearing that the human looked at their hand and tested out their mystic force. Then they realize that they were losing mystic power at a rapid rate. It was not enough to completely drain him, but enough that he could suffer serious damage if this went on.

"Huh, so you’re not joking when you said the sun was real?"

The humans concluded that their empire must have been no longer since even just a little bit of people believed in them, and they would have gained some mystic power back. However, they didn’t generate any.

"Unfortunately"

"That madman really did it." The human then turned to face everyone else in the room, who was now immobilized by fear, waiting for the skeleton’s next move. The only way out of here was through the door that the skeleton opened, and there was no way that the skeleton would let anyone pass.

"He only did it because I was not here"

"True, however, he did beat you, thou." The human aide spoke with a grin, but the skeleton didn’t take it lightly. Its hollow eyes burned with an intense glare, locking onto the human with a chilling focus.

"I only lost when I died. Clearly, he could not killed me"

"You’re right my liege... By the way, what do we do with all these pests?"

"Kill them, they’re of no use to us" The skeleton commanded with a stern voice.

Receiving such a direction, the human smile grew wide. Even reaching the ears if it could.

"As you wish my liege"

At that moment All the people in the room felt like their lives were about to end. All at once, the vines were decimated. The mystic power went in and cut all the people inside this place, leaving no one unharmed... Other than one person.

"AGHHHH"

A scream of agony escaped from Oven’s mouth, his body was flung toward the wall and pressed against it. However it didn’t stop there, the pressure kept increasing and he could feel the weight of his own armor pressing against his skin.

Jell, the other knight, didn’t do any better. In addition to getting bruised all over, his armor threatened to squish him alive.

"Let.... us.... join your.... empire..."

through the pain, Holen was the only one who could hold it together. He squeezes out his last words for the emperor’s mercy, however, the skeleton doesn’t do as much as look in that direction.

"Why left that one alive?"

"I think you’d like to take a look at my light, it’s quite interesting" The human smiles again. The skeleton looked at him with a bit of count but ultimately he followed the humans and walked to a kid shivering in the corner.

"A spark of mystic"

"Not only that, a connection to a spirit being. However, it looked like it wasn’t that good"

"Kid, come with me"

"....." Kanku sat silently in the corner, unmoving and resigned. He had accepted his fate. The worst decision of his life had been coming here, chasing a curiosity that now felt like utter stupidity. He was going to die—far from his home, in the cold, desolate chambers of Whatever where this is. Just for a godly skeleton to come and kill him.

"He wasn’t hearing it anymore"

"We could just kill someone and find out"

"Let’s do that then"

Here’s an improved version of your passage for clarity and flow:

The skeleton turned its hollow gaze toward one of the people trapped against the wall. Among them was Athan, but it knew better than to choose him. Using the body of a Blessed One for this purpose would be futile. Their bodies were too unique for such a sacrifice. Instead, the skeleton extended its bony hand and summoned Oven, pulling him forward effortlessly.

The Mystic Aura delivered it nicely to his hand. The man went and felt like he was about to die. His body had been pressed so much that it couldn’t respond anymore. Just a little bit of pressure would have snapped his life in half like a branch.

"I could sense that you have a great affection for this kid," The skeleton said with a joyful voice "Rejoice, you’re about to be going into his head with Lunto. Be honored that you’ve paved the way for the empire"

"No....."

The skeleton could sense sadness and anger in the voice. However Oven was not able to muster any more words, his body was as good as dead.

"That’s not for you to decide." The skeleton said "Lunto"

"By the order of the immortal emperor, I implore you to this sacrifice to look into someone’s history," Lunto said pressing his hand gently on Oven. Their body convulsed from the massive pain they were feeling, however soon later his power was liberated from a living being into a red mystic power.

"No...." Holen muttered, if his eyes could move it would be widening right now. The detective couldn’t even mourn his friend because of how absurd the mystic power was. They were crushed and turned to a red mist in mere seconds, without being able to do anything.

Tears well in his eyes as he realizes that they will properly suffer the same fate soon. The red mystic power was visible to the naked eye before fading away bit by bit. Holen watched closely as the thing faded away.

He recorded every interaction with the music with his brain. He felt an immersed anger toward it, no lighter than Atahn for changing his life. For the life of him, he could not get this exclusive power. From his perspective, this power was granted at random or passed down by the bloodline.

His investigation led him to the academy, where he discovered that the empire had been cultivating these mystic children. He deduced that children likely had a greater potential for gaining mystic power. However, his resources and influence paled in comparison to the empire’s reach, leaving him unable to secure a reliable source of children for his own purposes.

But there’s something else that broke all these rules. The church seems to be able to produce a priest every once in a while, and they accept people of all ages and genders. He saw someone as old or even older than him gain mystic power, it’s more flexible compared to the noble bloodline or children gaining random power.

If he survived this, he vowed to devote himself to gaining mystic power, no matter the cost.

However, it seemed like he wouldn’t get that chance.

Lunto who’s killed oven closed his eyes gently, then it opened with blood red splattered all over his white eyes.

"It seemed like there’s a spirit monster called the goddess of hunt which was worshipped by the northern people..."

"Another puny fake god..." The emperor said with disgust. All these being trying to copy the glory of himself sicken him.

"And the sun empire in the south. It seems like they were keeping this place on a leash of how powerful they were... They were trying to create a new domain or the sun god, most likely"

"What domain did he have?"

"Hard to say, the kid didn’t encounter any of the big hitters of the sun church... However, if I had to guess there’s likely something to do with light or heat"

"Too simple, if there was a more complex domain people, he would be dead by now"

"Maybe because he’s the only one he could afford to be simple?" Lunto said with a questioning voice. He couldn’t gain much from the kid, just an inner working of a northern tribe. Even by Lunto’s thousand-year standard, he could tell that their civilization had no chance against the sun god’s all-out assault. There must be something more.

"How big was the empire?"

"About as big as this piece of land. From this kid’s memory, it’s basically 90% of this land"

"That confirmed my suspicions, there must be another domain. He couldn’t rule over this vast land with light and fire alone."

"Looks like I could only get that much from the kid, however, there’s someone who likely knew more. That guy wearing a black cloth" Lunto pointed at Holen "That guy was leading these two knights to find the book here. He must have some connection to get his hand on this info or he got lucky. Either way, it’s not a bad bet."
