Extra's Re-awakening: System Errors Made Me Too OP-Chapter 43: Three Stage Attack
It was the same eyes he saw when the system had summoned the dragon.
"No way... Was that... The shadow dragon?"
There was no doubt about it, he couldn’t mistake those eyes that peered into his soul the first time he met it. But there was a problem, the dragon was a shadow summon, so why could he see it in what seemed like within him?
"Impossible..." As eyes widened as he realized, that what he saw wasn’t just the eyes of the dragon, it was his core.
The Shadow Soul-Core within him, was alive.
"Kid!" Mazmuth exclaimed, and he brought Rai’s attention back to the fight.
At that moment, Zogratis managed to dispel and overpower the Primordial Beast Bomb, setting off a massive explosion that sent a cloud of dust into the air. He did not escape completely unscathed, the bomb’s energy, which was designed to explode if tampered with struck his chest. Still, he was able to overrule most of it before it could cause any lasting harm.
As the dust settled, Zogratis appeared into view, standing tall, but there was a large wound on his chest.
"Honestly..." Zogratis mumbled with his distorted voice as his skin crackled like fiery energy, regenerating itself, but thanks to the energy of the Primordial Earth Essen-Beast, the regeneration process became even slower. "Primordial Beasts are a pain in the neck."
It was only their essence in this world that could negate the demons, and now, it was proving to be a burden.
SWOOSH!
The air beside Zogratis shifted, and he tensed immediately. He glanced over his shoulder, and the dust there vanished at once. Turning back, his eyes locked onto Rai’s hand, and he caught his dagger instantly.
The resulting impact shattered the ground, and Rai gritted his teeth as Zogratis’s strength was overpowering. "Aiming for the injury? Did you really think you could beat me with such speeds?"
"Hmph." Rai smirked. "No." Almost instantly, he dropped into a crouch while cloaked by the energy of his ability — Limit Break: Electric Burst Evolved, as a dagger crackling with lightning whizzed past his head.
"What!?"
The lightning-coated dagger plunged into Zogratis’s chest, hitting directly at his wound.
[Stun Effect has been activated]
A jolt of electricity rushed from the dagger and into Zogratis’s body, the electric currents danced around his body, and stunned him momentarily.
’Where did that dagger come from!? And when did he throw it!?’ Zogratis thought.
"Don’t mock me!"
[Target’s resistance is to high]
[Stun effect has been cancelled]
"Not Yet!" Rai built up a spiralling ball of dark energy in his palms and sent it straight into the dagger, the energy from the Raisen pushed the dagger deeper into his wound, and Rai lowered his brows and manipulated the electric currents flowing within the dagger.
[Stun effect has been activated]
’I see. He is well aware that only Primordial Essence can harm him, so he prepared a three stage attack. Using the dust as a cover, he coated the first dagger with lightning to increase it’s speed and hurled it from a distance, then he used himself as a distraction while moving at high speeds to block the dagger from Zogratis’s vision. Then after fulfilling those conditions, he used that technique of his knowing very well that it won’t be as effective unless it’s coated with Primordial Essence. This kid.’ Mazmuth smiled.
"You’re an interesting one." Mazmuth mumbled under his breath, then opened his mouth wide, and built another massive spiraling ball of emerald energy that glowed brightly as it hovered just above his jaws.
"Primordial... Beast Bomb!" He fired off it off at Zogratis, like a meteor crashing down upon him.
"Impossible..." Zogratis couldn’t move, the Primordial Essence in the Raisen deepened his injuries and allowed the Stun effect to be more effective.
As the beast bomb descended upon Zogratis, he could only stare at Kazuki in disgust as everything was his fault, Rai outsmarted him, played him and more importantly, he underestimated him, and now he paid the ultimate price. "By a mere human?"
"AAAAHHH!!" The demon lieutenant shouted as the Primordial Beast Bomb tore through his body, obliterating every cell and reducing his demon form to nothing but dust. A ten-foot-deep crater was left behind, with Zogratis’s remains scattered within it.
HUFF HUFF
Rai breathed heavily, although it was not much, the Primordial Earth essence that was forcefully stripped away from him had reduced a portion of his Soul -Energy, without the sufficient energy to even stand a chance against Zogratis.
He decided to fight tactically, hoping Mazmuth would catch on. And luckily for him, he had the set of weapons to efficiently carry out his strategy.
He walked over to Hiro, Xander and Elene and examined them. Rai placed his hands over their wounds and sent a jolt of electricity into it, and he burnt the entry point of the wound.
For now, he had stopped the bleeding, so they had a chance of making it to a support Soul-Hunter before it was too late.
[You have successfully defeated all enemies!]
[You have defeated the Primordial Demon Lieutenant!]
[You have levelled up!]
[You have gained ×20 Soul-Essence!]
[You have received an item!]
’I’m getting rewards for a quest I didn’t complete? Oh, I forgot, it’s just like the daily quests. Thanks to the system errors, the rewarding parameters were rearranged, so regardless of if I completed it or not, as long as the system administers the quest and it’s completed, I’ll be rewarded.’ He thought.
"Hey kid." Mazmuth called out to Rai, and he glanced over his shoulder at the Primordial Earth Essen-Beast.
"You have one sealed within you don’t you?"
Rai was silent, he didn’t know how to answer. On one hand, he sealed the shadow contract, granting him the ability to summon the shadow dragon, and according to his system bio-data, that Shadow dragon was the Primordial Shadow beast.
But it was different from the Primordial Essen-Beasts... Was it?
"I don’t know." He whispered.
The event that happened in the middle of the fight, the eyes he saw in the darkness, the voice in the darkness that questioned him about receiving aid from another. He didn’t know what to think.
"Listen kid, there are 7 Primordial Essen-Beasts in existence. The Primordial Earth Essen-Beast — me, the Primordial Ice Essen-Beast, the Primordial Flame Essen-Beast, the Primordial Wind Essen-Beast, the Primordial Lightning Essen-Beast, the Primordial Light Essen-Beast, and finally the Primordial Wave Essen-Beast."
Rai’s eyes twitched at the mention of the , different varieties of the Primordial beasts, he knew about the existence of the Earth Essen-Beast, but having never gotten the chance to finish the novel, he wasn’t aware that there was a total of seven Primordial Essen-Beasts.
"Why are you telling me this?"
"Because, I suspect that what is sealed within you isn’t a Primordial Essen-Beast, it is one of the seven great beings in the cosmos. The Primordial Shadow Dragon, Kuriyami."
Then his eyes went wide in disbelief, then returned back to normal almost immediately, if what Mazmuth was saying is true, then the Primordial Shadow dragon wasn’t one of the greatest Primordial Beasts in existence.
It was something far different.
’If that’s true and I do have the ability to summon such a being, then what the hell did I see in that darkness?’
"It seems that you’re aware of it. That means you’re also in danger, for centuries the Primordial demons has hunted us down, we don’t know why. But out of the the seven Primordial Essen-Beasts, they’ve managed to capture three. Now that they are aware of my presence in this domain, it won’t be long before they come for me."
"So what are you going to do?" Rai asked, rising slowly to his feet.
"Don’t worry about me, this domain was created by the Soul-King’s Soul-Energy. Not even the Primordial demons can penetrate it, but as long as that gateway is open, they will be able to. So you need to leave before -"
At that exact moment, a faint crack appeared in the fabric of reality, leaving a small hole. From it poured a tremendous presence, sending ripples through existence itself. A massive figure descended from the opening in the sky, the ground shaking as if an earthquake had struck. The figure shared features with Zogratis, but the difference was clear.
A vast, overwhelming surge of Primordial Essence.
