Extreme Cold Era: Shelter Don't Keep Waste-Chapter 800 - 29 Modular Design
"Royal Statistics Bureau? Aunt Annie really is..." Perfikot smirked upon hearing the Royal Family's plan to establish the Royal Statistics Bureau.
"My Lord, if the Royal Family requests data from the Northern Territory, how should we respond?" An official from the Northern Territory looked at Perfikot, awaiting her instructions.
To some extent, this data is considered confidential for the Northern Territory, touching upon the true industrial strength and production capacity of the region.
When they initially compiled the statistics, there were certain elements not recorded.
Furthermore, self-reporting and the need for data by the cabinet are two different situations, naturally requiring different approaches.
However, Perfikot wasn't concerned about this; she simply shook her head and said, "Just report truthfully, deal with the secretive elements yourselves, just don't expose all of our assets."
After saying this, Perfikot waved her hand, indicating they could leave.
The officials from the Northern Territory saw the gesture and quietly exited Perfikot's office after saluting.
"Aunt Annie finally seems like an empress, understanding the country she governs. You and others still have much to learn!" Perfikot smiled briefly, then turned her attention away from the matter and stood before the Floating City model in the center of her office.
There were two such models, one placed here, and the other had been sent with Kallen to Beloburg.
Looking at this Floating City, Perfikot was calculating the resources needed to build it in her mind.
Though the answer was an astronomical figure, for her who controlled the entire Northern Territory, it wasn't an impossible task. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Yet, if this were placed in the original world of games, it would be considered a wonder-type structure, requiring consideration of multiple impacts even in a game, let alone constructing it in reality.
A very practical problem before Perfikot was deciding where to build such a Floating City.
Although it's a Floating City, Perfikot can't just start construction in the sky, right?
She could make the city fly, but her workers hadn't learned how to fly up and work.
If built on the ground, she would need a plot large enough to accommodate this massive structure for a construction site.
Besides, an even more important point is that the Floating City is a city, not a military fortress; it necessitates a population — where will she find enough people to fill the entire Floating City?
It's not a case of build-first-then-talk; once completed, thinking of population migration would result in at least three to five years of vacancy before enough people migrate in.
Perfikot didn't plan to do that; she intended to construct and migrate the population simultaneously, so when the Floating City is built, the involved population is already in place, allowing immediate use — saving effort and time, why not?
However, a new idea seemed to rise in Perfikot's mind at that moment.
"Should I transform Chernobyl into a Floating City?" Once this thought arose, it lingered persistently in Perfikot's mind.
Indeed, it's a notion worth considering, because Chernobyl is a new city, and much of it was planned and designed by her, giving her a clear understanding of every detail of the city.
If she wishes to transform it, she can directly conceive a renovation plan based on this foundation.
Moreover, after extracting Spiritual Power from the collective dream in Beloburg to unleash alchemy, Perfikot could leverage Chernobyl's collective dream to perform large-scale alchemy, thereby facilitating city transformation.
Furthermore, this simplifies many issues, at least Perfikot needn't worry about how to mobilize and settle workers and population.
Chernobyl's population is readily available, and the city itself can provide various related services required for construction.
Even after the Floating City is completed and departs, the original construction site can be converted into a maintenance dock for the Floating City, allowing it to descend and dock there for material replenishment and maintenance as needed.
Though doing so yields other issues, like ensuring smooth construction during city transformation.
Especially considering it's a large-scale city-wide transformation involving many areas needing change.
If not for Chernobyl being a newly built city with a clear structure, making the renovation less troublesome, Perfikot wouldn't entertain the idea.
But after careful consideration, she opted for a compromise by selecting a region around Chernobyl to develop a new urban area which would be transformed into the Floating City's core.
According to her original design, the Floating City is divided into different modules, including a core section, city defense section, Godslaying Weapon section, industrial production section, etc.
This modular design makes the Floating City easier to construct and when faults occur or maintenance is required, it can be easily facilitated.
Because it allows damaged modules to be detached from the whole Floating City, land separately for maintenance and repair, or even, be made replaceable by directly substituting them with new modules.
Of course, corresponding complex structures increase maintenance costs to some extent.
But comparing both sides, it's still more appropriate to adopt a modular structure.
Precisely due to such considerations, Perfikot designed each Floating City module in a uniform-size hexagonal structure.
The entire module utilizes one large Floating Stone to provide lift, maintaining the module's suspension, and builds various functions and equipment based on the frame structure according to different module functions, thereby achieving differentiated functionality among modules.
For instance, residential modules can construct numerous apartment buildings to accommodate as many people as possible.
Simultaneously, surrounding residential modules with comprehensive service modules featuring schools, parks, markets, etc., to meet living needs.
Even employing this special structure mode, encircling one service module with six residential modules.
The core section sets up key city management facilities such as city council and administrative office buildings to govern the entire Floating City.
The city defense module, made entirely into a military fortress, provides military protection for the Floating City; whereas factory modules...
Perfikot noted down these concepts in her notebook, preparing to apply them in the construction of the Floating City later.
