Fake dating my enemy, The playboy billionaire-Chapter 103: I LOVEEEEEE his company
YIREN’S POV
The morning feels serene. I sit by the pool in the back garden, letting my feet dangle in the cool water as I sip my morning coffee.
Inside, Jun and Bear are still asleep. I can see them through the glass door, curled up together. They look like a mismatched but adorable pair of hibernating bears.
Don’t blame them for the extra sleep, though—I was a demanding menace last night. Keeping them awake till late. But last night... Last night was one of those nights where my emotions became an untamed ocean and I felt like drowning.
I’ve made peace with my reality—at least, most days. But sometimes, it’s harder to hold myself together. That’s why I needed someone to comfort and prevent me from slipping into depressing thoughts. No one’s better than Jun for it.
I can really rely on this man for being the best hugging pillow.
He held me all night in his arms. And.... I don’t know why but my mind says he kissed my forehead and said something about Disneyland.... but I was too sleepy so I’m not exactly sure if that really happened or am I just imagining things?
I glance down at my diary, the scribbled lines neatly dividing my future into tidy little goals:
Expand my business and sell a portion of it. Launch my own furniture line and earn through lifetime commissions. Secure Ning’s kids’ education. Travel the world. (The most important and the one that needs an insane amount of money) Fund for special care.
My dreams and responsibilities—my way of carving out a meaningful life.
"Good morning," Jun’s voice interrupts my thoughts, and I look up to see messy hair and a very sleepy face. He could use a few more hours in bed, but instead, he sits beside me, plants a kiss on the side of my head and snatches my coffee. Nothing new, yet every time he does it my heart skips a beat.
It’s precisely why I upgraded to a tumbler-sized mug filled to the brim—because I know he won’t let me have my coffee.
And then there’s Bear, waddling in like a hedgehog with his fur sticking in every direction. His bleary eyes scream that his humans tire him and he needs three more days of uninterrupted sleep.
"Come here, you sleepy head." I scoop him up, combing his fluff with my fingers until he purrs like a spoiled prince.
"What’s this?" Jun asks, pointing at my diary.
"Fund allocation for my future," I reply, holding it out to him.
He skims it, his brow furrowing. "I don’t see your future here, Yiren."
I roll my eyes. "Get an appointment with an ophthalmologist."
"Only after your appointment first."
I close the diary with a huff. "Go away, Juju. You won’t understand."
His teasing smile spreads wider as he nudges my shoulder. "Okay, okay. Sorry. Please, enlighten me."
"It’s just... the things I want to do in life. Before—before retiring," I say, keeping my tone light, though the weight of those words feels heavier than they should.
"Planning for retirement when you’re not even thirty?"
I pout. "We poor mortals have to plan ahead. Wish I was a billionaire too."
He chuckles, low and warm. "I see you want to travel the world—interested in a companion? I can carry your bags and keep you warm on winter nights."
Tempting. Too tempting. He’d be the best travel buddy, no doubt about it. And I LOVEEEEEE his company!
"Nope. I’m taking Bear," I shoot back, earning an exaggerated gasp from him.
He playfully shoves me. But then his expression softens as he reads over the list again. "Sponsoring Ning’s kids’ education... preparing special care for your papa... You’re an incredible daughter and sister."
My heart clenches. No, the special care isn’t for Papa. It’s for me. But he doesn’t need to know that.
"What about you?" I ask, trying to deflect. "Have you prepared anything for your future?"
He leans back slightly, his gaze thoughtful. "I never had anyone in my life worth planning a future for. But I’ll start now."
Our eyes lock, his words hanging in the air between us, heavy with unspoken meaning.
"What do you mean?"
He shrugs, "I mean, my brothers have planned insane things. You have planned it too. I’m having a FOMO."
"Dude, your brothers have wives and kids. Of course they want do things for them."
He laughs, "I have a sassy girlfriend and a spoiled furry kid too."
"Fake girlfriend."
"You never know. Unpredictable things happen daily." He stands, and offers me a hand. I watch him, challenging him to explain and looks like he caught the look, "I mean... right now it’s only you. But I better start planning who knows what might happen next minute."
Hmm.... Better.
I accept his hand, "What will you do once you find her? Be a wife slave like you brothers?"
"Version 2.0. I’m going to cherish her and fulfil all her little wishes. But I’ll also push her to chase her dreams. And I’ll be a devil with her in bed, raising her standards so much that she won’t ever think of any other man. Women like tender love but in bed they want to be ravished."
Undoubtedly.
I have first-hand experience with him. His dirty talks turns me on more than anything. So hot. I have seen how Shishi and Jianyu are with their wives and the spark of love and respect between them... But one look and anyone can guess they are beasts in bedroom, dominating. Jun is no different.
"Let’s go, bunny. We have to go."
"Where?" He didn’t answer so I jog to catch up with him, "Where?"
"That’s a surprise."
"Booo... atleast give me a hint."
"No."
"Jun! Why you keep so many secrets? You haven’t even tell me anything about Bruce."
He turns, scratching his head, "Ah about that, actually.... I’m Bruce."
"What?"
"Bruce = Jun= Me= Bruce"
"..."
I stare at him like he’s just confessed to being a batman. "You’re Bruce? Like the Bruce? The one I’ve been working with for months?"
"The guy you started talking on WhatsApp was me."
The audacity.
"You’re telling me... I’ve been losing sleep, stressing over every message, every presentation, trying to impress this ’Bruce,’ and it was YOU the whole time?"
"Technically, you did impress me." He grins, infuriatingly proud of himself. "You’re brilliant, Bunny. It wasn’t easy keeping up the act. And I love chatting with you. Got to know you better."
"Oh, you kept up the act, alright. You even corrected my grammar once, Jun. GRAMMAR!"
"Hey, I have standards," he says, raising his hands in mock surrender. "Besides, we were enemies at that time. Helping you was against my ego, hence the fake act."
"Damn right, you and your fat ego." I poke a finger into his chest. "I poured my heart into those proposals, thinking I was dealing with some aloof, mysterious genius perfectionist. And it was you! You watched me struggle and didn’t say a word?"
"To be fair, I enjoyed watching you work," he says, his voice softening. "You’re passionate, Yiren. You light up when you talk about your ideas, and it’s incredible to see this side of yours."
Damn him and his stupid, swoon-worthy words.
I fold my arms, trying to hold onto my righteous anger. "Then how did the fake Bruce got the number?"
"I lost my phone and the number as well. I still don’t have that number due to technical issue."
And then I recall Bruce punching a new number in my phone saying he lost the old one. He must have replaced the original number with his. I unlocks the phone and show it to Jun.
"That’s not company issued number." He answers, "All our numbers mandatorily start from 86*****"
I groan, turning away to hide my face. "I can’t believe I fell for this trap that easy. Stupid stupid."
"Yea, you can be stupid sometimes—"
"Jun!"
He runs away and I chase after him...
