Fake dating my enemy, The playboy billionaire-Chapter 104: Oh God. What is happening?
YIREN’S POV
"I’m ready."
"Me too."
Jun walks out of the closet, fiddling with the chain of his watch. Oooh la la... Khaki trousers, a blue jacket, and a white T-shirt. Hair perfectly gelled. Casual yet criminally stylish. Of course, he’s Feng Junjie--One of Vogue’s most stylish men. I shouldn’t expect anything less.
"I know I’m handsome," he says, smirking like the cocky devil he is. "Why not take a picture? Might come in handy when using your battery boyfriends."
My jaw drops. "I’ll pass. My battery boyfriends are already more useful than you—on speed one."
He grips my waist and pulls me flush against him. "Really? Because your screams tell a different story."
"That’s Just to inflate your oversized ego."
"Naughty." He gives my ass a sharp, playful smack that sends me stumbling forward.
"Jerk!" I hiss, half-laughing as I turn back I catch him rummaging through my nightstand drawer.
"What are you—?"
He pulls out two tampons from the packet and the strip of ibuprofen, slipping them into his jacket pocket like it’s the most normal thing in the world.
When he turns, our gazes collide. "For you," he says casually. "I’m out of mint chocolates courtesy of Yuyu and Lan, but we’ll stop by the store to get some."
I blink, caught off guard. "How do you know I’m on my period?"
He shrugs, "Period tracker told me. And then I saw you searching the fridge for chocolates. You only do that during your periods—for mood swings. And you didn’t go to the office today as the first day is painful for you."
I stare at him, words failing me. This man... has a period tracker app on his phone? For me? And he knows I crave mint chocolates during my period, something I’m certain I’ve never told him. Yet, he knows. He just... knows.
Actually, it’s not just this. He somehow found out I’m allergic to peanuts, quietly tossed out every peanut-containing product in the house, and even instructed the staff to never buy it. I only discovered it because I stumbled upon twenty EpiPens stashed in random places around the house and asked Rui about it.
And then there are the little things, like how he added architecture magazines to monthly subscriptions without me asking, because he knew they’d make me happy. How he added my favourite snacks and beer to the must buy grocery list of the house.
Jun does all these things like it’s normal. Like it’s no big deal.
But it’s not normal! It’s thoughtful. It’s cute. And it’s messing with my heart in ways I’m not ready for.
I shake off the warmth pooling in my chest and plaster on a neutral expression as we walk together to his car. "You’re too prepared for a fake relationship and a fake girlfriend."
He opens the door for me, that maddening smirk still playing on his lips. "I care about you, Bunny. Get used to it." He hover a hand over my head as I enter.
And just like that, my heart does a somersault. Damn him for these small gestures.
"Where are we?" I glance out the windshield, my brows knitting together. This is the surprise he’s been teasing me about? The old city shopping street?
The cobblestone road is lined with century-old shops, their weathered signs speaking of generations of family business. But one shop catches my eye—it’s the largest on the block, adorned with strings of twinkling lights that give it a warm, nostalgic glow. He parks right in front of it.
I reach for the car door handle, eager to get out and explore, but before I can pull it, I hear the click of the lock engaging.
"What now?"
"Don’t you dare get out. Stay in."
"But why?"
"Because—" He swings his door open, jogs around the car, and then opens mine with a flourish, extending a hand toward me. "—that’s why."
I roll my eyes. "Seriously? That’s for high-society women, dude. I can open the door for myself."
"Just because you can doesn’t mean you have to," he counters, wiggling his fingers impatiently. "Now, are you giving me your hand, or should I pick you up?"
I narrow my eyes, handing him my clutch instead. He tucks it under his arm, his other hand still waiting. Finally, I relent and slip my hand into his.
"Happy now?" I mutter as I step out. "Although, for the record, you could have at least appreciate me once. I put in all this effort to dress up, and not even a single compliment yet."
I hush him forward, feeling embarrassed for saying that aloud, but he doesn’t move. "What now?"
His gaze sweeps over me slowly, from my heels to the top of my carefully styled hair, and then his hand tilts my chin up so our eyes lock. My breath catches.
"I didn’t compliment you," he says softly, his voice low and intimate, "because there isn’t a word in the dictionary that can justify how mesmerizing you look tonight."
What?
"Earlier, I thought blue was your color," he continues, his thumb grazing my jaw. "Then red. Then that floral dress you wore when you went to meet Kunt." He shakes his head, a faint smile tugging at his lips and he twirl me once, "But, fk... turns out yellow is my new obsession. This backless maxi in deep yellow, brightens your face, adds a golden sheen to your already glowing personality. This colour is made for you, bunny."
I feel the heat rising to my cheeks, but before I can respond, he leans in and tugs a few strands of my hair loose from my bun, rolling them around his fingers like he’s claiming them.
"But you know what my favorite look of yours is?" His voice dips lower, and I swear the world around us fades. "It’s when you wear that rugged T-shirt with holes all over it, strolling around my house naked feet without a care, singing and dancing like you own the world. That’s my Yiren. Beautiful 24/7. The one I can’t take my eyes off of."
Behind us, Bear barks from the car, snapping me out of whatever trance Jun’s words just put me in.
"Even he agrees," Jun adds with a smirk.
I gulp. My legs are giving up like melting under the pressure of his words. That’s the most sincerest compliment I ever received and the way he delivered it--- ouffff. So intimate. So affectionate. Caressing my soul.
While I’m standing lost in his words, he tug his hand into mine, and whistles Bear who jumps off and follows us, sandwiching me between this adorable pair of ’Bears’
I hear a few whispers among the passersby, "Such a beautiful family." "Such a lovely couple"
Family
Couple
Jun lifts his hand, and press the lightest of kisses on my knuckles. I feel like the most loved woman in the world.
Oh God. What is happening?
