Fake dating my enemy, The playboy billionaire-Chapter 116: Kai’s hidden identity
JUN’S POV
I stride into the very chamber where Chris is tied up, and throw a punch across his swollen face, the impact sending a satisfying thud through my knuckles. "This is for touching my girl," I snarl.
Another punch lands, harder this time, and Chris barely manages to keep his head up. "This is for mistreating her every damn second she was with you."
My heart pounds as my fists meet his face, in a serious of brutal relentless punches, "And this—this is for all the tears she shed because of you."
Chris can barely look at me through his swollen eyes, but he manages a sneer, his lips twitching despite the agony. "I-I’ve touched every part of her—"
Before he can finish, my knee connects with his manhood, and his words are cut off with a strangled cry. I yank his hair, pulling his head back sharply. "Not anymore. Enjoy your stay here," I hiss, before stepping away, leaving him to writhe in pain.
"Please... don’t leave me here..." he begs, but I don’t even flinch at the desperation in his voice. I turn my back to him, his pleas fading into nothing as I walk toward the door.
Xion’s luxurious office can even put mine to shame. His love for old architecture and antics reflecting from every corner. Yiren would love to see this place, to bad I’m never letting her step here. He is behind his desk, calm and collected, as always, though a knowing look crosses his face when he sees me. He slides a glass of whiskey toward me, the smooth amber liquid catching the light.
"Still don’t want it?"
"Shut up!" I snatch the glass from his desk and gulp it down in one go. The sting burns my throat, but it helps dull the anger simmering inside me.
"Prepare a cell. One more will join soon."
Xion swirls a pink diamond on the table. A literal diamond, the size of an egg, casually used as a paperweight.
"Yifan is mine," Xion says, his voice low, dangerous.
I frown, "Why?"
"Because he dared touch someone from my family."
I blink, trying to process what he’s saying. "How is Ning related to you?"
Xion grips the diamond tightly, his knuckles turning white with the pressure. "She is my sister-in-law."
The words hit me like a freight train. "You mean—"
"Kai is my brother," Xion interrupts, "Even if he doesn’t want any relationship with us and left the house when he was barely a teenager, it’s my duty to keep him safe."
Kai is Xion’s brother. The King of the Underworld’s brother? I try to piece everything together. I know Xion was adopted by Meimei’s grandfather, who made him his successor. But Xion is the only son of his parents.
"So, is Kai your cousin?" I ask, still grappling with the weight of this new information.
Xion’s ocean-blue gaze lifts, I search his features, looking for some hint of similarity between them.
"Yes," he says. "He doesn’t want to be associated with this criminal world in any way, so he cut himself off from us early. When I saw him at the restaurant, I recognized him instantly."
"Does he know
"He does," Xion answers. "And he’s warned me to stay away from him. But family is family, Jun. Whether he likes it or not, I’ll always look out for him."
"Do you think Ning is targeted because of Kai? His association with you?"
Xion shakes his head, the slightest trace of frustration crossing his face. "No. Kai was smooth when he cut ties with the family. No one even knows about his existence anymore. Yifan... he’s got his own motives."
I furrow my brow, trying to piece this together. If Xion is right, then why would Yifan target someone like Ning—someone with nothing to offer him? It doesn’t make sense.
Then it hits me. Yiren. She’s on his radar too. I can’t ignore it. If she’s in his sights, this has to be more than just about money or business. It’s personal. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Yifan has some personal issues with Yiren? Possible, we were in same university... he knows her too.
"Yifan is yours once I’m done with him," I say, my tone cold and final. I have some scores to settle with him.
But before all that, I need some answers only Yiren can give.
*****
I found Yiren in the garage, her focus completely on my car. My heart squeezed at the sight of her, her dedication radiating as she worked tirelessly. She’d spend her entire day managing her own business, and yet, she always made time to help me here, in this garage.
"AH JUN!" she yelped in surprise as I wrapped my arms around her from behind, twirling us around in a playful spin. Bear, of course, saw me and twirled himself in excitement, his tail wagging furiously.
I set her down, and I couldn’t help but smile. She was glowing, her face lighting up with that infectious smile of hers. I wanted nothing more than to kiss her, but damn that agreement we made.
She probably sensed the conflict in me, because before I could say anything, she tiptoed and placed a soft kiss on my cheek.
Sure. I’ll take this for now.
"I need to ask you something."
"Later. I made some changes. You should check it first," she said, pulling me over to her laptop, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She started explaining the changes she had implemented, her voice passionate and confident as she showed me her work.
Getting her on this project had been the best decision I’d made. And the results? They speak for themselves.
It’s only been a month since she started working on it, and in last night’s test drive, the speedometer hit 219 mph. My highest so far.
But right now, this is not important. I need to tell her about Yifan and his involvement in Ning’s accident.
"What’s wrong? Are you even listening?" She shakes my hand, eyes searching mine.
"Have you heard of Yang Yifan?" I ask.
