Fake dating my enemy, The playboy billionaire-Chapter 117: The tattoos
Yifan? Yea, he was in university with us, in your group if I’m not wrong?" I can literally recall everyone from his circle and who all he used to hang out with.
"Correct," Jun said, his eyes intense as he looked at me, waiting for more. "Anything else you know about him?"
The way he was looking at me made me uneasy, like he was fishing for answers. Why was he bringing this up now, out of the blue? It felt off.
"Okay, spill it out. Why are you asking about him?" I crossed my arms.
"First answer my question."
I sighed, giving in. "No. I don’t know anything about him. We never really spoke. Not even casual greetings. Never said a word to each other in university or outside."
Jun’s frown deepened. He pulled out his phone, showing me a picture. "You’re talking about him, right?"
I nodded, confirming it. My memory has always been sharp, at least for now.
My phone pinged, a message from Rui, "Ooh, the food order is here!" I drooled, "I ordered Thai for us. I’ll be back."
I jog and return with our order, two plates, spoon, Bear’s food bowl and saw him standing in daze, "Jun, is everything okay?"
"I’m trying to understand your connection with Yifan."
"Why would there be a connection between us? I never liked that guy. He always had that air of superiority, making him unapproachable." I put the food bags on the coffee table, opened the container, my stomach grumbling. Bear is already running around in excitement sniffing the bag.
"He was behind Ning’s accident."
I froze and slowly set the spoon down, "Say that again," I breathed, needing to hear the words again, hoping I misheard.
Jun’s voice dropped lower, more intense. "Ning’s accident wasn’t an accident. It was planned. Yifan was behind it."
The blood drained from my face, and I felt a chill settle in my bones.
"Not only that, it was him who sent Chris after you. Gave him the information about your whereabouts and set everything up for him."
"Why would he do that?"
Jun sits down next to me urgently, "That’s why, Yiren, think about it. Maybe you’re missing something?"
I shake my head, "I’m certain, Jun. There were people in your circle I talked to occasionally, but never him. Never. I don’t understand why he would come after me." The confusion, the fear—it’s all tangled up.
He places a comforting hand on my head, "Don’t worry. We’ll find out. I’ve asked someone to get me his family details. Let’s see."
I open my mouth to argue, to ask more questions, but he cuts me off gently. "No, buts. Let’s eat something first, okay? Thai, huh?"

After dinner, Jun and I both buried ourselves in work. It’s what we always do when our minds start spiraling. He’s working on the changes according to the new VR prototype I gave him, tweaking the car design, though I can feel him checking on me after every few minutes. I opened my laptop, hoping to distract myself but keep questioning why would someone will target me. Secretly, I spent an hour Googling Yang Yifan. Unfortunately, nothing productive came up. I close the laptop.
I sneak a glance in Jun’s direction-- working shirtless on a car- looks like that’s my new kink. "What are those tattoos about? Looks like a story in them."
He sighs, dropping his head down, "Finally you asked. for once I thought you’d never ask."
"Earliar it was different, but now I think I can ask you anything," and I’m not lying. Despite spending our childhood together, I feel that we were still strangers. It’s only now that everything has changed.
He wipes the grease off his hands before walking toward me, his muscles flexing under the dim light, and I couldn’t help but let my eyes follow his every movement. His chest, smeared with grease, looked even sexier somehow.
Without warning, he took my hand, pressing it to the first tattoo on his bicep. I noticed a strange script, a language I couldn’t recognize. "My first," he said, "I donated money to save a little girl whose parents were raising funds for her treatment. I found out about her through a news article. Months later, I received a note from her, written in her messy handwriting, ’You are my angel.’"
I looked at the tattoo again, realizing the strange language was nothing but a child’s scrawled handwriting. It hit me—this tattoo meant something deep to him.
Jun guided my hand down to the next one, on the left side of his waist. Two little angels, with a date written underneath it. "When Yuyu and Lan were born." his voice soften. My heart swelled with emotion. This man cared so deeply for everyone in his life.
He moved my hand to the next tattoo, a small heart with a heartbeat. "For my Honey," he murmured. "The heartbeat is his." then he bring my finger to another, I didn’t understand what was written, but I did understand the two dates written underneath it. My mom’s bday and the day she died. "It’s written ’Ma’ means mother in Hindi"
I bit my lip, feeling a lump in my throat. He continued, guiding my hands to his chest. Two wings, stretching across his pecs. "For the babies Suyin and Shishi lost. They’ll always be in my heart." His words were heavy with love and loss, and I felt a deep sense of respect for the pain he share with his brother.
Next, his fingers slid my hand to his sternum, where a vibrant phoenix was taking flight. "For Jianyu," he said softly. "He almost lost his life in an accident, but he came out like a phoenix. Stronger than before."
My fingers traced the tattoos, each one more beautiful than the last. A nautical compass on his waist caught my attention, and Jun noticed my interest. "That’s when I became the CEO," he said, his voice steady. "It symbolizes guidance and direction."
I was in awe of how each tattoo told a story, a snapshot of the people and moments he cherished. It made me wonder... What about me? What story would I have on him?
Before I could speak, Jun turned, showing me the other side of his waist. He raised his arm, and I gasped. There, hidden, was a pair of bunnies—one male, one female, and the female bunny has a pencil in hand. The worst, male bunny has a little heart in eyes, looking at the female.
My heart skipped a beat. "Is this for me?"
Jun’s eyes sparkled with mischief as he looked down at me. "No, for Jessica Rabbit."
I slapped him playfully on his chest, but his grin only widened. He chuckled, pulling me into his embrace. "You’re an important part of my life, bunny. Of course, I had to get one for you as well."
"You got a pair of bunnies."
"We are a pair of bunnies."
His arms around me felt like home, a place I didn’t want to leave. I wasn’t sure how I’d earned a place in his heart, but right now, standing in his arms, with him opening up to me, I felt like I was exactly where I belonged.
But.... There is always a but...
