Fake dating my enemy, The playboy billionaire-Chapter 148: Hmm.... what’s cooking?
Jun’s POV
"This is so beautiful." Yiren’s eyes shine with unshed tears when she rests her head on my chest and wraps her arm around my waist as we both watch Suyin proposing to Shishi in their new house.
The house that Yiren built for them with all her heart. Although still incomplete, Yiren made it usable for this proposal in record time.
It’s a dreamy proposal on the lake, straight out of fairytales. One day I will propose to Yiren— I stop the thought. I don’t know if that moment will ever come in my life.
The music is awesome, the atmosphere, the company is the cherry on the cake, and the woman in my arms is my dream. I’ve been a real mess the last week... many times she tried to talk to me and every time I made excuses like a loser, avoiding her. I’m not ready to listen to her say the dreadful words that she’s leaving the house. Call me selfish, but there’s no way I’m letting her go.
I kiss the top of her head, taking a deep whiff of her scent. She looks up at me with a smile that hits my heart. She tips on her toes and kisses the side of my lips. "I want to tell you something."
And I don’t want to listen.
"Have you tried the Orange Gimlet? It’s James’ new recipe and I’m loving it already." Loser Jun. Again running away. I beckon a waiter. "Try it. You will love it."
She grins, taking a sip of the drink. "Hmm... Getting me drunk, huh? Are you planning something naughty for the night, Juju?"
"Maybe. You are so yummy after all."
"You too. Can’t get over your charm. Deadly charm." She kisses my nose. I tip the glass up, urging her to finish the drink, and nod at the waiter to bring another.
"I have come to a decision."
"We can talk about your decision later."
She frowns, pouting adorably while grabbing my shirt to steady herself on her heels, our eyes never leaving each other. I secure her in my arms, the heat of her skin seeping into me wherever our bodies touch. Blue is her color, and though everyone here keeps saying Suyin looks most gorgeous tonight, I beg to differ. It’s my girl, everyone. Period.
"Jun, where’s your vanity parked?" Shishi interrupts us from the dance floor. He is holding Suyin close and has his jacket draped around her. I nod where the vanity vans are parked. Shishi whispers something to Suyin, turning her tomato red.
"They look so cute together. I bet Shishi has whispered something naughty." Yiren smiles, catching the hint from Suyin’s face.
Laughter escapes from me. "It’s their first night. I’m sure it’s not naughty but something dirty." Yiren’s eyes widen as the realization sinks in. I shrug. "They have their reasons. We don’t question it."
"Sir, everything is ready." My new temporary assistant, Daiyu, that I borrowed from Shishi, interrupts us.
I nod.
Yiren’s POV
"What was I saying?" Ah, I keep forgetting things tonight. So much is happening around me, and then there’s this man who keeps stealing my breath and attention. My brain stutters whenever he looks at me with longing.
I want to tell him about mom’s letter and the video that dad recorded in the hospital, about his and mom’s conversation. I want to tell him of my decision, but stupid, stupid, stupid timing... we ain’t getting time to talk heart to heart.
Oh, Juju. You are in for a surprise.
"How would I know?" Jun tucks a strand of hair behind my ear. Why are his eyes wet? Is he sad? Or are they happy tears for Shishi and Suyin? Or is he worried about us? He shouldn’t be. I’m staying by his side. Forever and ever. Until death do us part.
Because I LOVE HIM! Yes, I’m madly in love with this man and going to spend the remaining years of my life in his arms.
The waiter returns with a new drink, and Jun has me try it, just like he made me try nine other drinks.
I throw back the drink under his watchful gaze, smiling goofily. We are not dancing, yet everything is spinning. Or are we dancing? Or is the world around us dancing?
"How is it?"
"Come closer. I’ll give you a taste." His eyes flare as I take a mouthful. Our lips meet, and I let him taste the drink. It’s yummier. It tastes like him.
I stand on his shoes and fist his hair, fighting with his lips and tongue. I feel him lift me and put me on his lap, right where I can feel the hardness align with my core.
"I love you, Bunny. No matter what destiny has for us, I’m keeping you." He growls. His grip is painful, yet it is not. "You are not allowed to leave me. Never. Never ever."
I’m not. I won’t. I want to tell him, but my brain is mushy and my mouth is sealed by his hungry lips. He’s a needy bastard at this moment. No worries. We have an entire life to confess.
I feel myself walking... no, no, being walked... no, no, being carried and walked. I don’t know what is happening, so I just bury my face in his chest, basking in his fragrance.
The loud music fades behind me, and the cheers dull.
We stop by at my on-site office/warehouse. Papa, Ning, Kai, and more men are already waiting for us around my desk. I recognize only one. The old man with a long beard and no expression. He was inside the venue just now, and Suyin and Shishi autographed his big red book.
"Hey, Dad," I grin. "Hey, sista. Hey, brotha." Dad gives me a pat on the head, and Ning kisses my cheek.
Kai chuckles. "This is madness. She is going to murder us."
"She will thank us later." Ning says. "Sorry sista, you left me with no option."
"Are we ready?" Dad asks the long-beard man.
I look at Jun, my head spinning. "What is happening?" Holding me tight in his arms, he sits down in my chair, making sure the long slit in my dress is not causing a wardrobe malfunction. Aww, I love him.
Everyone is quiet, staring at us.
The man puts his autograph book in front of me. He says something in Chinese, and Jun replies in the same language. Oh god, what is happening? Kai speaks something in Chinese—oh wait. He knows Chinese? Kai whispers to Ning and Papa, and both nod at the long-beard uncle.
The long-beard uncle takes my name and speaks in Chinese.
"..."
I look at Jun.
"Say yes."
"Yes. Why?"
"I’ll tell you later."
"Ok."
"Good girl."
I grin. "I am."
The long-beard uncle mumbles something again and slides the red book to us.
Jun signs it. Then he places the pen in my palm. "Sign here, love."
I frown, squint my eyes, but the words are dancing. Can the words dance? "Why is he asking for my autograph? I’m not famous like Shishi, Suyin, and you."
"Oh, you are, bunny. Look at the beautiful house you made."
I grin at the long-beard uncle. "You are cute. I’ll give you a discount if you ever want me to do your house."
The uncle doesn’t smile.
Jun helps me autograph at the correct place, right below his name. Ning, Kai, and Papa click our photos. I giggle. I pose.
And then Jun claims my mouth.
More photos.
More Chinese words from the long-beard uncle.
I hear everyone clapping and cheering.
And Jun whispers something in Chinese.... I don’t know what it is, but I like the sound of it.
