Falling For My Accidental CEO Husband-Chapter 281: A Trap
Chapter 281: A Trap
Williama smiled inwardly as she watched the desperate fools gathered before her, scrambling to make a plan. Their ideas to convince Ella to point at Aiden, their schemes, their naïve belief that she- Williama Brown- would genuinely help them—it was all so amusing. What they failed to realize was that the moment they came to her seeking aid, they had unknowingly signed their death warrants.
Did they truly think she was some magnanimous benefactor, a woman eager to extend a helping hand out of the kindness of her heart? How laughable. Williama was no saint, and she had no intention of pretending to be one. Life had taught her cruel lessons, and she had learned them well. And these two people in front of her could be said to be her teachers.
Her lips curved into a faint, almost imperceptible smirk as her gaze turned Charles Hawk, the man who had once held her life in the palm of his hand—and crushed it mercilessly. Her dear ex-husband. The sheer number of times he had humiliated her was beyond count. He had belittled her in front of her friends, her peers, his colleagues, and even his mistresses, as though stripping her of dignity was some kind of a sport.
Back then, she had been powerless to stop him. But that didn’t mean she had forgotten. No, Williama’s memory was sharp, and her grudges were eternal. Charles Hawk had ruined her life, shattered her confidence, and left scars that never truly healed. It was because of him that she could never sustain another meaningful relationship, her attempts at love and stability crumbling under the shadow of his cruelty. And then, his dear wife, her little sister. This girl used to be the one to wipe her tears and curse at Charles and now, she was his wife. Eek.
But Charles and Millie were only one side of the coin. Kimberlee Brown, on the other hand, was no angel descended from the heavens. If anything, Kimberlee was a devil in disguise, a woman who thrived on fooling others. The day she married Kimberlee’s father, Kimberlee had issued a direct threat to Williama, vowing to destroy her if she dared to get in her way. From that moment on, Kimberlee left no stone unturned in making Williama’s life a living nightmare.
Kimberlee’s malevolence was no empty—she was more than capable of harming anyone who crossed her path. Williama knew this all too well after this incident.. She had now seen the damage Kimberlee could inflict, and would not want her to turn towards her in the future. Kimberlee was never going to like her, but letting her roam free after this would mean hanging an axe over her own head.
So, now that fate had handed Williama the perfect opportunity, she could play without ever getting her own dirty. Dale Brown. Kimberlee’s very own cousin.
Williama’s plan was simple. Let Dale know that these people were the culprits he was lookig for, the ones who had killed Serena. If Dale became the one behind getting rid of these fools from this world, no one would ever suspect her. Her problems-namely Kimberlee and Charles would vanish, all while she kept her hands clean and her reputation untarnished.
She leaned back, savoring the anticipation. Let them think she was their savior. Let them thank her for her help.
She looked down at her phone and smiled. Yep. Ella had already left the country, for her next destination, i.e Dale Brown. The next part of the plan. But before that, it was time to watch some entertaining things- like her enemies tearing each other apart like hungry little wolves. frёewebnoѵēl.com
Looking up, she caught Kimberlee’s sharp, venomous tone slicing through the tense air.
"If only you had kept up the pretense of being a good father," Kimberlee spat, her voice trembling with anger, "Ella wouldn’t have ratted us out! Now look at us—hunted like animals! Aiden’s chasing us from one side, and Dale’s on the other. We’re trapped, Charles, and it’s your fault!"
Charles leaned back, a sneer twisting his face into something ugly and defiant. His laugh was bitter, dripping with contempt. "Really, Kimberlee? You’re going to pin this mess on me? Let’s not forget who was so confident, so utterly convinced, that once she married Aiden, she’d win his heart. You swore up and down that he’d eventually come around—that he’d forget Serena and fall for you. And now? Look at you. He doesn’t even acknowledge you as his wife. Hell, he barely acknowledges you as a human being!"
His words hit like a slap, and Kimberlee’s face flushed with fury. But Charles wasn’t done. His sneer deepened, and his voice dropped to a mocking drawl. "Don’t you dare blame me for this. I played my part. I helped you get exactly what you wanted. You wanted Serena out of the picture, and I made it happen. You should be thanking me, not pointing fingers."
Kimberlee’s fists clenched at her sides, her nails digging into her palms. "Don’t act like you did it for me, Charles," she snapped. "You wanted her gone just as much as I did. Don’t you dare pretend this was some grand act of generosity! I would’ve handled it differently. I would’ve created enough chaos in their lives to wear them down. Slowly, methodically, I would’ve found a way to sneak into his life, into his heart. But you—" She jabbed a finger in his direction, her voice rising. "You were the one who insisted on a long-term solution! You wanted Serena completely out of the way. Permanently! Because you knew as long as she was around, you would never be able to return!"
Millie, the only one who had been quiet until now, finally burst out," What is wrong with you two? Now is not the time to turn on each other. We need to handle these together if we want to do something to get rid of the two enemies. Willie is right. We should somehow convince Ella to tell Dale that Aiden was the one behind the murder. That way, these two would turn on each other and we will have time to figure out a way to escape.
