Falling For My Accidental CEO Husband-Chapter 299: Gone
Chapter 299: Gone
Dale and Ella stared at each other quietly in the office, staring at each other.
He was waiting for a reply, while she was... lost in thought.
Finally, Ella spoke, her voice low. "I understand what you’re asking." She paused, pressing her palms flat against her knees. "I just want to hear it more clearly. Can you do that?"
Dale nodded once, and leaned back. He leaned back slightly in his chair, and repeated the words, "You’ll be bait, Ella. There’s no sugarcoating that."
He watched as her throat tightened, but she didn’t flinch. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"You’ll step into the role of a wealthy heiress who’s broken away from her family. Until now, Adam has kept things under wrap. Once you agree, he will take his protection away. And you’ll make waves — reckless spending, bad headlines, whispered scandals. Just enough to get their attention without ruining your credibility. Let the rumors follow you here.
Ella shifted, and nodded, "And once they notice me?"
"They’ll test you," Dale said. "Not all at once. It’ll start small — invitations, exclusive parties, quiet offers to get you what you ’need.’ Drugs. People. Favors. They’ll try to find out what kind of trouble you want."
"You have to make them believe you’re lost. That you’re looking for something only they can give."
Ella swallowed, the weight of it pressing down on her. "How long will it take?"
"Could be weeks. Could be months," Dale said. "Depends on how convincing you are and how patient they are. Though I don’t think it should take too much time. Their main reason for targetting heiresses like yourself is actually dual. They want to use you to earn money but they also want to use you to blackmail your family. Because AIden Hawk is known as almost untouchable, they will jump at the chance to snatch you."
"And during that time..." Ella started, her voice trailing off.
"You’ll be alone," Dale said bluntly. "At least on the surface. No obvious ties to me, or anyone else who could protect you. It has to look real. Also, the moment they have you in ’hand’, they will contact Aiden and then he will be the one who will send me to your side."
He paused, letting that sink in before continuing, softer now, almost gently. "But you won’t truly be alone even before that. We’ll be watching. You’ll have a lifeline — a way to signal if something goes wrong."
Ella let out a slow breath. "A panic button."
"Exactly. You hit it, we come in. No questions, no hesitation."
Silence stretched between them for a moment, as Ella looked down at her hands, clutching her fingers together." But I cannot tqke drugs. I have a heart condition."
"And that would be a perfect cover for you. Since you are a heart patient, you need to show some other flaws that will give them leverage over you. So the next big thing would be...men. They will be your vice."
Ella stilled as she understood the implications of his words... Did that mean that she would have to... sleep around with different men? Her hands clenched. But she had agreed to this and if that is what it meant... then so be it. She nodded her head, indicating for him to continue.
"You’ll be in danger, Ella," Dale said finally, his voice dropping lower. "Real danger. These people aren’t petty criminals. They’re organized. They cover their tracks. If they suspect you’re not who you claim to be..." He didn’t finish the sentence. He didn’t have to.
Ella nodded, as her fingers curled lightly into fists on her knees. "I know."
He studied her for a moment, then added, quieter, "But I wouldn’t ask you if I didn’t think you could survive it. Or that I would be able to take you out of it."
That caught her off guard. She blinked, looked at him sharply, searching for any sign of doubt and found none.
"You’re not just some rich girl playing dress-up," Dale said. "You’re smart. You’re tough. You know how to listen, how to move without drawing attention. That’s why I’ve chosen you."
She met Dale’s gaze evenly and nodded. "Alright," she said. "Tell me what happens next."
"First thing," he said, "you’ll start training. Physical, yes — strength, stamina, agility. But more important than that is the behavioral training."
Ella tilted her head slightly. "Behavioral?"
"How to fake it," Dale said bluntly. "How to pretend to be high without ever taking anything. How to make a drink last all night without getting drunk. How to handle pills without swallowing them. You’ll learn how to act disoriented, sloppy, reckless... without ever actually putting yourself at risk."
Ella absorbed that silently, her mind already whirring through possibilities.
"We’ll give you decoys too," Dale continued. "Little tricks operatives use in deep cover. Pills you can pocket without being seen. Drinks that look spiked but aren’t. Powder you can pretend to sniff and wipe away before it gets anywhere near you."
He leaned back again, voice lowering.
"But if they force you," he said carefully, "if they catch you off guard — we’ll have protocols. Certain substances in microdoses you’ll be immunized against ahead of time. Safe versions of the most common street drugs, so if they inject you with something, it won’t hit you the way they expect."
Ella stiffened slightly. Dale caught it and added quickly, "You won’t be left defenseless. You’ll have training, backup plans, and a dedicated extraction team on standby."
"For how long?" she asked quietly.
"As long as it takes," Dale said simply.
You’ll also learn hand signals," Dale continued, ticking points off in a calm, relentless voice. "Coded phrases. Silent alarms built into jewelry — a bracelet, a necklace, things you can trigger even if you’re restrained."
Ella nodded slowly. "And if I miss something? If they catch on?"
"Then we move in," Dale said. "We pull you out immediately. Mission over."
"And what happens to me after that? If I am busted?"
"After that, as far as the world is concerned Ella Hawk will be dead... You’ll be given a different identity and sent away."
