Chapter 204: ANOTHER INCIDENT (III)

ROBIN’s temper was about to blow over. He’d been talking to Haru when he heard a sudden commotion. When he turned to look, he saw Choi Yujin standing right in front of Seojun and shouting about something. Because he was some distance away from the two of them, he couldn’t make out the exact words. But it had to be nonsense, judging by the confused and unhappy look on Seojun’s face.

Then Choi Yujin suddenly pushed Seojun hard to the side. This revealed Haneul, who had been standing behind him. At that point, Robin felt a strong sense that something bad was about to happen. He started moving toward them as fast as he could. Then, he saw Haneul’s unsteady stance, looking like he was about to fall over. He would have fallen too if Taeyang hadn’t stepped in quickly to support him.

Robin couldn’t understand why Haneul reacted that way at first. But as he got closer, his jaw clenched in anger. That damn Choi Yujin was releasing his pheromones and focusing them all on Haneul! He could see what the other was doing. Choi Yujin was trying to make a public display to show he had much more dominance than Haneul. The only reason Robin could think of was that Choi Yujin was one of those people who thought being a dominant Alpha or Omega automatically put them at the top of the social ladder.

Which was total bull, by the way.

Choi Yujin must have thought that if he proved Haneul was a recessive Omega, the other contestants here would look down on him. Did Choi Yujin really believe everyone here thought the same way he did? That once they knew Haneul was a recessive Omega, they would automatically start mistreating him? Sure, a few people might, like that guy Park Mirae. But most of the others probably didn’t give a damn about something like that.

Once Robin finally reached them, he immediately shoved Choi Yujin away as hard as he could. And that’s how they ended up in the current situation.

After Robin’s tirade, Choi Yujin didn’t respond. He just glared back with pure anger. Robin scoffed. What else could Choi Yujin even say? It wasn’t like anything Robin had said was a lie.

"I did nothing wrong!" was the only thing Choi Yujin said.

Robin rolled his eyes. "Right. And I guess releasing an assault of pheromones is just your way of saying hello."

He looked around, searching for a staff member. Where were they anyway? Were they just letting this happen so they could get dramatic footage for the show? If that was their plan, then screw them. Did they not see that Haneul had almost gotten hurt?

"Why were you acting like some knight in shining armor, anyway? This has nothing to do with you." Choi Yujin looked at him with anger, then his expression suddenly changed to one of realization. He sneered at Robin. "Is that it? Do you like Kang Haneul? Aren’t you an Omega? Looking like that, you must be a recessive one too. It’s good you have the sense to not expect Alphas to like you. But really, liking a fellow Omega?"

What? Robin felt his blood pressure spike. Did this guy have a problem with his brain? How could he even come to that conclusion? For a second, Robin was really tempted to prove to this jerk just how ’recessive’ he actually was. But he stopped himself. His own pheromones were naturally very aggressive. If he let them out here, it would cause a much bigger problem than Choi Yujin had. The effects would be far worse.

But honestly, he really wanted to blast his pheromones at this bastard and show him what a truly dominant scent felt like. As he stood there, hesitating over what to do, he felt a light touch on his arm. He looked to the side and saw Haneul standing there beside him.

Haneul offered Robin a small but grateful smile. Then, he turned to face Choi Yujin.

"Please stop with this childish tantrum. Whether I’m recessive or dominant has no bearing on this program at all. We’re here to become idols. We’re being judged for our talent and our skills, not for the strength of our pheromones. This is an idol survival program, not a survival of the fittest show. I don’t know what you’re trying to prove, but it just shows you’re some kind of genetic supremacist. And that’s not exactly the flex you think it is."

Haneul kept his voice even and his gaze steady. He did not raise his voice, but each word carried a clear weight. He spoke with a quiet conviction that left no room for argument.

Robin blinked and felt a rush of pride for his friend. That was exactly how you won a stupid argument with class. It was a good thing Haneul stepped in, because otherwise, he might have really given in to the temptation to attack Choi Yujin.

Yujin’s face turned a deep, hot red from a mix of embarrassment and anger. It became even worse when he clearly heard a few of the other contestants snickered. Their low laughter was obviously directed right at him.

Why were they laughing at him? Couldn’t they see what was really happening? Couldn’t they see that he’s the one being wronged here? Kang Haneul was the one trying to trick everyone, and he was just trying to expose the truth. So why was everyone ganging up on him instead?

"You think you’re so clever, don’t you?" he snarled at Kang Haneul, his voice tight and trembling. "Playing the innocent victim while you trick everyone. You make me sick. I hope you--"

"Choi Yujin, that’s enough!"

A firm hand grabbed his arm and pulled him back. Yujin stumbled and looked up. Seojun was right there, staring down at him with a dark and angry expression. It was the first time Yujin had ever seen Seojun look at him like that. But the worst part was that Seojun’s other hand was clamped over his own nose and mouth, as if he couldn’t stand Yujin’s smell.
