Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God-Chapter 2211 - 1003: Nuclear Peace in the Bottomless Abyss (Part 2)
Their most unique and powerful attribute is their remarkable ability to rapidly burrow underground and launch attacks from below on surface creatures.
Just as sharks attack creatures on the water’s surface, they have earned the nickname "land sharks."
Evidently, these land sharks have carried over their unique attack methods into their skeletal forms.
They are even more agile and formidable than they were when alive.
At least, land sharks are somewhat limited by their surroundings. If they encounter rocky terrain, their underground stealth capability will be greatly reduced.
The entire Plains of Bone might be composed of skeleton remains, though this is undetermined for now; however, the surface layer, up to several meters, is certainly made up of various bones, allowing the Skeleton Lizard Sharks to swim freely.
The Corpse Giant is attempting to use underground stealth to avoid the bombardment by Gaven’s Skeleton Cannon Array.
In addition, a considerable number of Gaven’s old acquaintances are mixed in—Nightshadows.
These undead creatures formed by highly concentrated negative energy have an astonishing damage reduction ability (25/+3) and are the lethal nemesis of the splash attacks from the Skeleton Cannonballs.
Unless directly hit by a cannonball, mere bone fragments wouldn’t easily pierce their defenses.
As numerous Nightshadows crossed through the portal, the darkness accompanied them, beginning to spread toward the direction of Gaven and his group.
This was the Nightshadows’ spell-like ability, Dark Arts.
They are absolute creatures of darkness, instinctively loathing all light; even the stark white light of the Plains of Bone is too dazzling for them.
Every place they pass becomes consumed by darkness.
This Dark Arts ability isn’t particularly useful against the undead, as they possess Dark Vision and don’t rely on their eyes but on the Perception Ability of their Soul Fires.
However, it does significantly affect long-range artillery positions.
Since they can’t visually ascertain the enemy’s position, they can’t just fire blindly in all directions, can they?
No matter how powerful, even with an increase of several dozen times in firepower, it wouldn’t achieve total coverage, especially when many enemies are stealthily moving underground, making it even more challenging.
"It seems that unless thoroughly hurt, he won’t give up!"
Gaven hesitated no more, teleporting a short distance to appear several hundred meters above the Corpse Giant, throwing the Light Spirit Crystal grasped in his hand downwards.
In the Endless Abyssal, such an item is akin to a strategic nuclear weapon.
To unleash its full power, the key is not to hoard it but to make the natives here aware of the mighty weapon held in one’s hand and recognize its potency.
Back when the Great Beautiful Country dropped two "little fatties" on the little devils’ home, the world truly began to take nuclear peace seriously, leading to nuclear deterrence and nuclear blackmail.
Bang!
The Light Spirit Crystal exploded in mid-air, and blazing white light burst out in all directions.
The dark canopy painstakingly upheld by the Nightshadows was instantly torn apart, fully exposing the undead below.
Sizzle...
The Nightshadows, exposed under the blazing white light, seemed to boil, with their surfaces bubbling vigorously and billowing black mist escaping.
The terrifying positive energy contained within the Light Spirit Crystal is the lethal nemesis of these negative energy undead creatures.
Constant exposure to this light causes their negative energy to continually evaporate, and when it is entirely exhausted, they will meet their demise.
They have no better strategy against such attacks, their only recourse is to flee in all directions.
The direction with the most fleeing is precisely toward the Skeleton Portal they had just come from.
They are advanced versions, True Wraiths, possessing complete souls.
Thus, their intelligence is usually above average.
All portals have limits on the number of transports, with the Skeleton Portal being no exception.
Transporting people from one side occupies the teleportation quota of units.
The Skeleton Lizard Sharks, like frightened fish, desperately burrow deeper into the ground.
In a blink, the ground around the Corpse Giant fell silent once more.
Only the Corpse Giant remained unmoved, even looking up at the sky where the blazing white light emanated.
There, a light-shaped figure was unfolding gracefully, not inferior in stature compared to him, continually emanating blazing white light.
In what appeared to be a slow but in reality astonishingly fast descent, she floated to the ground.
She didn’t perform any offensive actions; the mere light emanating from her body caused the bone-filled plains beneath her to boil.
A horde of black mist wafted up, and many bones rapidly weathered before disintegrating into powder.
The reason the Plains of Bone hold so many skeletal remains is partly due to negative energy retaining corpses, especially bones, enabling lengthy preservation.
Many bones here date back thousands if not tens of thousands of years.
However, once the negative energy within them is dispelled, time immediately catches up with them, restoring their former appearance.
The Light Spirit Witch, fully extended, didn’t require a word from Gaven, locking onto the Corpse Giant, and charged forward with wide strides.
As her large feet touched the ground, countless rays of light, like sharp swords, pierced deeply into the earth, with subdued explosive roars emanating from below.
Although the Skeleton Lizard Sharks didn’t float to the surface like dead fish, it’s certain that wherever the Light Spirit Witch trod, they were mercilessly trampled.
