Fated: The Alpha's Unwanted Luna-Chapter 169: Angry Wife_Part 1
Both of them turned to look at her at the same time, Leni with a slow, satisfied smirk as she draped her arm around Sebastian’s neck in a deliberately intimate way, and Sebastian with a deep, sharp annoyance directed at the door as though she had walked in and interrupted something important. But that look of annoyance shifted into something closer to shock the moment he registered who was standing there.
Memories began flooding Viola’s mind all at once, memories of how Evan had betrayed her and chosen Leni, memories of the way he had tormented her for Leni’s sake. Why did it always have to be Leni? Why?
Viola’s fingers curled into tight fists at her sides, and a look of intense, burning fury and raw betrayal flashed through her blue eyes as she stared at the two of them.
Sebastian immediately shoved Leni off his lap and rose to his feet, moving quickly toward Viola, but the moment he reached her, Viola didn’t even think twice before raising her hand and slapping him hard across the face.
"You are no different from him." She turned her gaze sharply to Leni and directed the next words at her like a blade. "I will deal with you later." Then she turned and ran out of his office before her emotions could slip entirely out of her control.
Sebastian was too stunned by the slap to move for a moment. He stood there watching her disappear through the door, his head still turned to the side from the force of it.
No woman had ever hit him before in his life, and strangely enough, that wasn’t what occupied his mind right now. What mattered was that she had completely misunderstood what she had walked in on, though he could hardly blame her, because he was certain that anyone who had walked through that door and found him in that position with that woman would have come to the exact same conclusion.
---
A few hours earlier.
Sebastian had left Viola sleeping peacefully in his bed, unwilling to disturb her for anything when she so clearly needed the rest. He had figured she would sleep through the remaining hours it would take for his temporary mark to fade, which meant she would be spared from having to navigate the full intensity of mating bond emotions while still half-conscious and vulnerable.
He had come to his office to finish some work, even though it was the night of his wedding and by all accounts he should have been with his wife. But he wouldn’t push anything she wasn’t yet comfortable with, and she had been sleeping, which made the decision easier.
Focusing on work, however, had proven nearly impossible. Her face kept flashing through his mind with a persistence he couldn’t shake. He could have gone outside and drunk and celebrated with everyone still gathered in the paradise garden, but Sebastian had no desire to field the unnecessary questions that would come from being seen outside while his wife was supposedly inside.
Everyone would be expecting him to either be working on producing an heir by now, or slowly beginning the process of killing his new wife, as had happened before.
He was deep in thought when a voice cut through the silence and made him look up sharply.
"Good evening, supreme Alpha."
It was Leni, walking through the door of his office with a flushed face and one of his personal keycards held in her hand. She was wearing an impossibly short, sleeveless dress that stopped just below the line of decency, and her breasts was pushed so high in the neckline that it appeared to be in imminent danger of spilling out entirely. She was visibly drunk.
A dark scowl settled immediately over Sebastian’s face the moment his eyes landed on the keycard in her hand, one of his personal ones, which had granted her access to his private floor and his office. "How the fuck did you get in here?" He demanded, his voice dropping to a low, murderous tone.
Nobody had access to his personal keycard except his Betas, and not one of them would use it to enter his office unless he had personally called for them or a genuine emergency had arisen. So how had this woman gotten her hands on one?
Leni smiled, the alcohol she had consumed buzzing through her head and stripping her of the good sense to recognize the danger she was standing in, or the fact that she was pressing her luck against a blazing flame.
"Does it matter, my Alpha? Though if it truly bothers you that much," she clicked her tongue casually, "I seduced one of your Betas to get it. Not your head Beta though, that man is far too difficult to get anywhere near. I do believe he is gay." She was referring to Matt, who had unceremoniously shoved her away from his door the night before when she had first hatched this plan in her mind and stripped before him. Was he even a real man? She thought with an inward scoff.
"I slipped it out of his pocket without his knowledge while I gave him a blowjob. You should have seen his face," Leni said, waving the card lazily back and forth in front of her while she licked her red lips in what she clearly intended to be a seductive display, pressing her free hand against her breast to draw his eyes there.
But if Sebastian even noticed her attempt, his hardened, stone cold eyes never left her face. Was he going to be just like his head Beta and act as though she were invisible?
Leni hadn’t planned to resort to her old ways of seducing men to get what she wanted, but they had pushed her into this corner themselves. If she didn’t do something, her Evan would remain locked away for who knew how long, and that bitch Viola would have the full upper hand over their lives now that she was a supreme Luna.
Leni couldn’t allow that to happen. And so she had devised a plan, just the same way she had once stolen Evan right from under Viola’s nose, bringing him to pleasure while Viola had delusionally believed he would make her his wife and had done absolutely everything for him. She would do it again now, this time with the supreme Alpha.
After all, Viola hadn’t marked him, she was wolfless and couldn’t give anyone a mark, and without her mark on him, the supreme Alpha was essentially free to take pleasure wherever he chose.
Leni was willing to sell her body to him if that was what it took to secure Moonwillow’s freedom and get her husband back. She would deliver the kind of help Evan had always privately believed she wasn’t capable of giving, and she would do it better than that bitch had ever done anything for him in her life!
Leni began to walk toward him slowly, lifting the hem of her already dangerously short dress to reveal herself further as she bit down on her lower lip. "What are you doing alone in your office on your wedding night? Your wife isn’t giving you enough, is she? Don’t worry, I will treat you to something much nicer. Something se—ahh!"
The words died in her throat. She had been walking toward him, reaching out to touch his hair, when his hand moved with terrifying speed and seized her wrist in a crushing grip that wrenched a sharp cry of pain from her lips. She looked down at him, and the eyes that met hers were deadly cold and blazing all at once, like flames burning at the heart of a winter storm. A chill crawled all the way down her spine and rooted her to the spot.
"I can see that you are tired of living and have decided to court death, woman. If that is truly what you want," his grip around her wrist tightened further into something that felt like it could snap the bone, and Leni’s face crumpled with pain, "I will gladly grant you that wish."
