Chapter 2707 - The Infuriated Senior Black Sheep

The black sheep’s heart shook.

Cultivators could remain forever young, living as long as the heavens, outshining the sun and moon, ageless and indestructible.

Physically, they could revert to a younger state, but their heart would only bear ever more numerous vestiges of the passing years.

Their hearts and breadth of knowledge would inevitably grow and change over the years. No one could reverse that flow.

Yet Su Yi’s changes made it seem as if he’d washed away the passage of the years!

How could the black sheep not be surprised?

She couldn’t help but ask, “Have you perhaps already condensed a Heart Soul?”

Su Yi exclaimed, “Old Senior, you’re perceptive indeed!”

‘Old’ senior? A senior is a senior. Why specify ‘old’? The black sheep headbutted Su Yi.

Su Yi floated through the emptiness, swaying like a leaf. Finally, he landed airily, laughed, and said as if to himself, “It’s truly a wonderful feeling. It’s as if I’ve been born again!”

The black sheep had a complicated look in her eyes. This kid has only just proven his Dao and entered Eternity, but he’s already condensed a Heart Soul.

If word reaches the River of Destiny, it’ll cause a huge upset!

Suddenly, the black sheep raised her head and gazed into the distance. “The road ahead really does have danger lurking around every corner.”

She spun around and gazed playfully at Su Yi. “Apologize to me, and I wouldn’t mind lending you a hand. I’ll lead you to...”

But before she could finish her offer, Su Yi clasped his fist and apologized without missing a beat. “If I offended you earlier, I humbly request your forgiveness, Senior!”

He looked utterly contrite and sincere.

“???” The black sheep couldn’t make heads or tails of it. Is this still the same proud, confident sword cultivator? How could he apologize just like that?

He’s simply shameless!

Su Yi blinked. “Are you going to go back on your word, Senior?”

The black sheep gnashed her teeth and snorted coldly. “Stay behind me!”

With that, she led the way ahead

Su Yi smiled and followed her. He didn’t forget to add, “Senior, you’re clearly a sheep of your word. This junior admires you! If you ever need this junior to apologize for anything again going forward, just say the word!”

The black sheep’s heart felt all twisted up inside. How could a proud sword cultivator suddenly become such a people-pleaser?

It’s truly loathsome!

Suddenly, a group shot toward them from afar. There were five of them in total, a mix of men and women. All of them emanated shocking power and seething murderous intent.

The leader of the group, a tall, powerfully built man, rode in on a blood-red cloud. He wore robes embroidered with dragons, and his long hair was tied into a topknot. His hands were behind his back, and his majesty was utterly imposing.

“Su Yi, we’re from Limitless Palace!” the powerfully built man said solemnly. “We’re here on orders to bring you to the Limitless Palace to continue your cultivation. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll cooperate. Refuse, and we’ll just have to make you cooperate.”

His voice boomed like thunder, echoing throughout the endless expanse of time and space.

It sounded like he was threatening Su Yi, but in truth, he was indirectly warning those cultivators hiding in the darkness!

He was telling them that this was the Limitless Palace’s business, and that they should carefully weigh the consequences before trying anything!

The black sheep watched coldly. She was inwardly furious, but she couldn’t be bothered to say anything; she just wanted to attack.

But then, Su Yi’s voice transmitted into her ears. “Please, calm down, Senior. Let’s see whether anyone else jumps out into the open. Even if we can’t take them all down at once, we might at least be able to kill a few more of them. Only then can you display the full extent of your unparalleled majesty, and only then can we cow the rest into submission!”

This was extravagant flattery, but coming from Su Yi, it didn’t please the sheep at all.

“Do I need you to tell me what to do?” shouted the sheep.

Su Yi just smiled and said no more.

Still, his interruption had successfully quelled her murderous intent, so she didn’t rush to attack.

Suddenly, a cold voice rang out. “Limitless Palace? Haha, if I’m not mistaken, Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s clone was the first to be destroyed after the Battle for Order, right? They say he was slapped to death in a single hit! Yet now, his followers are the first to jump into the open. Aren’t you afraid you’ll follow in your leader’s footsteps?”

Uproarious laughter erupted throughout different parts of the endless expanse of time and space.

“Who said that? Get the hell out here!” The tall, powerfully built man bellowed. He and his companions glowered, visibly enraged.

“I won’t come out. What are you going to do about it? Come on and get me—if you can! Find me, and I’ll acknowledge you as my ancestor!” said that same cold voice before falling completely silent.

Yet another round of uproarious laughter followed.

The tall, powerfully built man’s eyes blazed with murderous intent, but in the end, he disregarded this all and turned his attention to the black sheep standing in front of Su Yi. “What’s livestock doing here? Scram! Or else, I’ll slaughter you fir—“

The black sheep had originally planned to wait and see what happened, but now, she was thoroughly provoked.

She stamped her hooves, and the void shattered, stirring up a spacetime windstorm.

It swept outward, blasting the powerfully built man and his four companions into smithereens. Blood and flesh fell like rain.

When the spacetime windstorm faded, all that remained were five Eternal Sources and scattered treasures.

Silence descended over the area. No one uttered a peep. Throughout the endless expanse of time and space, everyone was too startled to speak.

The tall, powerfully built man and his companions were true cultivators of Limitless Palace. Even the weakest of them was in the Unfettered Realm, while their leader was in the third realm of Eternity, Silence.

Who could have imagined that they’d be wiped out as soon as they arrived?

That unassuming black sheep had killed them all with a single stamp of her hoof!

It was just too terrifying!

Su Yi picked up a jug of wine, had a sip, and exclaimed, “Senior, your Daoist magics are endlessly powerful. Impressive! Impressive!”

“You call that impressive?” the black sheep said coldly. “Ignoramus!”

Su Yi sighed deeply. “I was indeed a frog in the well before this. Even now, I know almost nothing of the Eternal Dao. I’ll have to trouble you to share your vast stores of wisdom with this junior going forward. I'll be endlessly grateful.”

The black sheep shuddered with disgust. It couldn’t even imagine how Su Yi could have changed this much. What happened to your pride? And to your contemptuous bearing? Did you feed it all to stray dogs or something?

In the end, she took a deep breath, suppressed her anger, and led the way ahead. She’d decided to kill anyone who dared jump out into the open!

Even if she couldn’t vent her anger on Su Yi, she could at least vent it on someone else!

Su Yi carried his jug of wine and walked leisurely behind her, relaxed and at ease.

Not long after, a scraggly old man in yellow appeared on the path ahead. He clasped his fist at the black sheep. “Hello, friend...”

The black sheep kicked him from afar, and his body exploded with a bang. Destroyed, completely and utterly.

“How dare you address this lofty one so informally? Who could you possibly be worthy of being my friend?” the sheep said coldly, her eyes full of disdain.

The cultivators watching from after shifted, all of them stunned. The black sheep’s tyrannical methods had left them unable to stay calm.

Su Yi noticed that no small number of them were shooting into the distance. They’d decided to flee!

They’d obviously realized that the situation didn’t bode well for them.

She dares kill Eternals just like that? Miss Baa Baa Black Sheep... has got to have extraordinary origins! Su Yi thought to himself. He’d always wondered what level of Eternal she was.

Alas, she’d never been willing to discuss it with him.

The road ahead was calm and smooth.

The black sheep walked ahead alone, her contemptuous gaze saying, “I go where I want. Who dares to stand in my way?”

Finally, someone couldn’t take it anymore and secretly took out a green-skinned gourd.

The gourd took to the sky, and endless streaks of flame scattered from its mouth, like a river of flame flowing through time and space. It was headed straight for the black sheep.

Practically simultaneously, a dozen or so figures shot out of the darkness, all of them attacking from different angles, drawing the treasures they kept in reserve, and hurling them at the black sheep.

They were attacking from all sides, their cooperation seamless.

They lay in wait, then attacked with unstoppable force all at once.

Their terrifying power threw the entire area into disarray. Layer upon layer of spacetime barrier collapsed.

The black sheep snorted coldly, then uttered a strange, inscrutable invocation. “Soldiers!”

It was just one word, but it went off like a thunderclap.

Countless arcs of dazzling, resplendent purple light whooshed through the endless darkness, sword qi of unparalleled sharpness. Wherever they passed, they pierced through enemy cultivators with unstoppable force.

Desperate cries rose and fell in waves, and blood fell like a waterfall.

But the black sheep didn’t seem satisfied. She continued her chant, every word an invocation of the Grand Dao. “Approach! Battle! Advance! In! Formation!”

The endless expanse of time and space practically boiled.

All manner of unbelievable divine abilities swept forth like floodwaters, attacking from all sides.

Three thousand soldiers led a charge.

Divine mountains bore down on all sides, shining with resplendent divine radiance.

A flood of the Grand Dao burst forth, then swept out in all directions.

An avalanche of crackling lightning exploded in all directions.

Terrifying visions of destruction played out all over the place. All of the cultivators still hiding in the surrounding area felt the impact.

Some were obliterated on the spot, instantly reduced to ash, while others cried out in terror and fled in panic.

Everything was in complete chaos.

Su Yi instinctively narrowed his eyes. This was indeed far too shocking and far too terrifying. Not even he had anticipated that the black sheep would cause such a massacre when she lost her temper.

As the various desperate cries rang out, Su Yi managed to pick up a few useful hints.

The Heavenly Fate Realm!

The black sheep was displaying power of the Heavenly Fate Realm, the fifth and final realm of Eternity!

As Su Yi pondered, an all but invisible figure appeared behind him, then thrust a knife into his back and twisted ruthlessly.

Su Yi’s figure shattered into pieces.

But his assailant looked stricken, as he’d just realized that the “Su Yi” he’d just killed was actually just an afterimage!

He turned and fled without the slightest hesitation, using an evasive technique that prevented others from tracking him.

At least, in theory.

To his horror, a hand nonetheless wrapped around his throat, and a streak of sword qi pierced his heart.

That tyrannical power minced his organs and viscera, destroying his life force!

The would-be assassin’s eyes widened. He instinctively looked up and saw a handsome face smiling at him.

His eyes were bright and clear, like mirrors reflecting the darkness and unsightliness in the depths of the assassin’s heart.

In the last moments before awareness fled him, the assassin found himself inexplicably ashamed of his own unsightliness.
