Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 696 - 695: He Has a Girlfriend
Seven years was ample time to get to know someone.
Perhaps Nia couldn’t pinpoint exactly what had happened, but she could sense that something was off.
Fiona bit her lip, looking embarrassed, and chuckled weakly. "Nothing serious, we just... had a bit of an argument, I suppose."
Well, it was an argument, I guess.
Hearing they had quarreled, Nia frowned.
It was common for Fiona and Charles Northwood to argue, but this time it felt different. Ever since Fiona had returned early from abroad, alone, things had felt very off.
"Fiona, I hope you can tell me if anything’s wrong. After all, we’re good friends."
Fiona sighed and waved her hand dismissively, feigning impatience.
"It’s nothing. Drop it."
Seeing her like this, Nia felt powerless.
"Alright. I hope the three of us can be friends for life. If there’s any misunderstanding, you two should talk it out properly before it escalates and becomes irreparable."
Nia advised, then focused on her driving.
Observing her, Fiona sat there thoughtfully, gazing into the distance.
"Nia, can I ask you a question? What kind of girl do you think Charles Northwood would like? Someone carefree, or someone cute?"
Fiona asked quietly after some hesitation.
Nia thought for a moment.
"It’s really hard to say. He’s so composed, always patient and gentle with everyone, that it’s hard to tell who he might genuinely be interested in. So, naturally, it’s also hard to know what type he’d prefer."
Nia had wondered about this before. After all, she’d known Charles Northwood for seven years and had never seen him with a girlfriend.
However...
"Didn’t Charles Northwood have a girlfriend before? Tara Jameson, I believe her name was. Though he said they’ve already broken up."
Hearing that Charles Northwood had a girlfriend, Fiona’s heart clenched. She tightened her fists, her expression pained.
Then, hearing they had already broken up, she felt a little better.
"A girlfriend? Was she his first love?"
Fiona suddenly muttered to herself, her good mood completely gone.
"Probably. I don’t really know the details. Charles Northwood is very private. If I hadn’t accidentally seen him with his girlfriend that one time, I wouldn’t have known at all..."
Fiona had met Tara Jameson before. She’d suspected back then that their relationship wasn’t so simple.
But she could never quite accept that he actually had a girlfriend.
"Do you know why they broke up?"
Fiona leaned back in her seat.
"How could I possibly know that?"
Time flew by quickly, and they soon arrived at a Buffet Restaurant.
Fiona loved eating at buffet restaurants because she felt she could always get her money’s worth.
Her mood was a bit down, so she decided to channel her frustration into her appetite and eat a big meal.
When the Rolls-Royce stopped and Nia got out, the manager of the Buffet Restaurant hurried over.
"Um..."
He had seen Young Master Peary’s Rolls-Royce from a distance and was quite curious why Young Master Peary would grace their humble Buffet Restaurant with his presence.
However, when he approached to welcome them, he saw two young women getting out of the car.
He stared at Nia getting out of the driver’s seat, then glanced at the back seat—it was empty.
It really was just two young women.
Uh...
"This..."
The usually articulate manager seemed to have lost his words, completely unsure of what to say.
