Chapter 737: Chapter 736: Damn, I’ve Been Slapped in the Face

This was the first time he’d broken the rules he’d committed to since they began preparing for pregnancy.

Filled with anger, he vowed to give Rabina a good scolding when he met her.

At the hospital, Nia Mitchell had no idea that just a swipe of her credit card had brought the CEO all the way from Capital Town.

After completing all the hospital admission procedures, she approached the Nurse Station.

"Do you have any phone chargers? My phone is dead."

Nia was only 20, around the same age as the nurses at the station. They warmly offered their own chargers, letting her check if any were compatible.

Unfortunately, none of them worked.

"Thank you all."

Nia returned the chargers and then went back to the ward.

Aldy Mitchell hadn’t woken up yet due to the anesthetics.

Staring at all the medical instruments, Nia wearily sat down on a nearby chair.

"You better go buy some food now, your brother will be hungry when he wakes up."

Molly Harguez immediately instructed Nia to do so.

Nia looked up, not at Molly Harguez, but at Aldy Mitchell on the hospital bed.

Four years had passed, and he had grown from a child into a young man. He should be a high school senior by now.

The most notable change was his increased height.

"You go buy whatever your son likes to eat."

She sat there, her back and waist aching.

It was all Maxwell Peary’s fault. She was so tired from last night, and then the long car ride today. After rushing around the tense hospital, exhaustion finally caught up with her.

"What are you talking about? I need to take care of my son here."

Molly Harguez raised her voice.

"Can you keep your voices down? There are other patients in this ward besides yours."

In the same ward, another patient’s family member, disturbed by the constant noise, finally spoke up.

Molly Harguez turned her head to look at the family after hearing their words.

"What are you talking about? Does that mean we can’t talk here or what?"

The person was taken aback, not expecting Molly Harguez to be so unreasonable.

"So you think it’s okay to cause a disturbance and affect others’ rest? Is that it? Look at the time—it’s already nine o’clock in the evening."

Their meaning was clear: it was evening, time for rest.

Nia was stunned. It was already nine?

She sighed. She wanted to inform Maxwell Peary but realized she couldn’t remember his phone number.

"What’s wrong with nine o’clock? Does it mean we can’t speak at this hour?"

Molly Harguez, always one to argue even when wrong, was already fuming and naturally spoke rudely.

At this moment, the ward door opened, and a middle-aged man dressed in a suit came in.

"What’s going on?"

He had heard the arguing from afar.

"It’s this family here, causing a ruckus as soon as they arrived, affecting others’ rest. Mother is old, she can’t stand this."

The other patient staying with Aldy Mitchell was an older woman, and the person caring for her was her daughter-in-law.

Obviously, the middle-aged man who just walked in was the old lady’s son.

"Look at you. You’re a mayor, after all. It’s fine to be low-key, but you should have arranged a VIP Ward for Mother. Now we have to deal with all sorts of disruptive people here, pointing fingers and making all sorts of remarks."

As she spoke, the woman shot a disdainful glance at Molly Harguez.

Molly Harguez felt her bluster evaporate; all she could think of was what the woman had just said.

A mayor?!!!
