Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 755 - 754: I am your mother
Molly Harguez pushed open the door and walked in just then, her eyes immediately falling on Nia Mitchell, who was standing there.
She looked around but didn’t see any sign of Maxwell Peary.
"Where’s Young Master Peary?" Molly asked curiously, looking at Nia and then scanning the room again.
"He has left," Nia, seated, replied expressionlessly.
"Left? How could you let him leave?" Molly immediately grew agitated. Young Master Peary rarely visited, and she hadn’t even had the chance to properly play the host. How could Nia just let him leave?
Nia frowned and shot her an annoyed look.
What did it matter to Molly whether Maxwell had left or not? Really.
Just then, something caught Nia’s attention: Molly’s clothes. They weren’t the ones she had worn last night, and they looked brand new.
"Did you go out first thing this morning just to buy clothes?" When this thought occurred to Nia, her eyes widened in disbelief.
Molly Harguez glanced at Nia Mitchell, then sat directly in front of Mr. Mitchell and began to eat breakfast.
"Of course," Molly said. "That’s Young Master Peary we’re talking about. If he was coming, how could I possibly wear my old clothes? That would be disrespectful to him." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Nia was speechless. Could that even be an explanation?
She didn’t even consider the current situation. She kept saying everything was for her son, yet her actions were worse than an animal’s.
"What’s with that expression?" Molly demanded. "I did all this for you. If I didn’t dress up properly, it would be your face that’s lost."
Could anyone in this world have thicker skin?
Nia was truly rendered speechless.
Hearing this, Aldy Mitchell blushed, clearly embarrassed.
He had never really liked his mother—too vain, too greedy. People like her, no matter how wealthy, always seemed to lack class and were quite repulsive. He had wanted to break free from her, but he couldn’t. Because she was his mother, after all.
Nia didn’t say anything more. She simply sat beside Aldy, watching his IV drip.
"Is there anything you’d like to eat?" Nia asked, her voice very soft, just as he remembered it. "I’ll go out and buy it for you at noon."
Aldy shook his head. He didn’t have any appetite at the moment.
"Aldy wants Pork Rib Soup," Molly, who was nearby, immediately interjected when she heard Nia. She didn’t see her son shaking his head, as Nia was blocking her view. "And buy an old hen to stew. It would be best to cook some Fish Soup too." Having said this, Molly, still unable to see Aldy, maintained a serious expression and added, "These are all things Aldy wants to eat. He told me so this morning."
Aldy’s face grew even redder. He lay there and closed his eyes.
How mortifying.
Nia didn’t get angry. She just sat there silently.
Seeing her silence, Molly took it as agreement.
After all, it was food for the patient; Nia would probably go get it.
"Oh, right," Molly added matter-of-factly. "If you can, bring some food back for your father and me too. Someone needs to look after things at the hospital, so we can’t leave."
Nia turned to look at her, her face full of scorn. "You were able to leave to buy clothes, weren’t you? So how come you can’t leave to buy lunch?"
Molly was struck speechless, her expression turning a little ugly.
"What kind of talk is that? I’m your mother!" Molly burst out, incensed, as if Nia had said something utterly disrespectful.
"Whether you’re my mother or not, you know the truth in your own heart."
