Chapter 202: Stop accusing the Innocent

Theo’s POV:

I glanced at Samuel immediately. Now would be the right time for him to interfere in this situation. But he was standing next to the white marble pillar that was closer to the wall and casually viewed the event.

Why is he silent now? I expected him to say something when Darius held my hand and moved the sharp blade closer to my skin. But there was no response from his side.

The lame prince is going to unmask me now! Just when the dagger was about to slice my hand, my mortal enemy appeared on the spot.

Oberon flipped his long cape behind him and stepped into the chamber. The tip of the blade was touching my palm now. If he digs the blade a little, then my silver blood would spill out.

But Darius froze completely when his father came near us. Oberon looked at his son and at me; then, his eyes lowered down to our hands.

"What on Aiden’s name are you doing to this Half-Mage? Are you trying to hurt him?" Oberon yelled at his son.

Samuel came into the scene exactly at that moment and shouted out," Your Majesty.... Your majesty—"

Samuel then dropped down on his knees in front of Oberon and bowed his head. "Your Majesty.... Please rescue my son from the Prince! The Prince has been tormenting my son ever since we got here. He beat my son with a whip, and now he is trying to stab him with the dagger."

Samuel exactly knows when is the right time to speak and when isn’t. I wish that I had the power to see future events too! That is the only thing that I lack.

Oberon was outraged when he heard what Samuel said. Then he turned to his son and asked him in a fierce tone."Is what I hear is true? Did you really beat him with a whip? And now you are trying to stab him?"

Darius immediately let go of my hand and trembled before his father. "Father.... I only did that because he is... he is....."

He was stuttering so much instead of speaking. This is his actual form! He is a coward deep down who puts on a brave face in front of others. It looks like his actual form appears when he is in front of his father.

"He is the Silver Shadow—" Edwin finished the sentence for Darius. "He has arrived here in disguise to attack us."

This loyal slave Edwin always comes to rescue the timid prince—and I despised him for that!

Samuel, still kneeling in front of Oberon, clasped his hands together and started to babble. "How can my son be Silver Shadow? Silver Shadow is a legend who survived the abyss. My son might look attractive, but he is not a warrior! He has never battled with a Shadow creature in his entire life. When he sees one of them, he runs away and hides behind my back."

This is embarrassing! I know that what Samuel said was untrue, and he is saying these words for the sake of my cover. Still, I was offended—as my pride never lets me live in peace.

Samuel continued to say even more embarrassing things about me. "Just a week ago, a couple of banshees arrived at the lands—and my son passed out right in front of them. Now tell me, your highness, how can my weak son be the most powerful man in all three realms?"

"Father... don’t... believe him," Darius interrupted. "He is really Silver Shadow! Ever since he got here, he has been staring at Celestia and.... he even gave her nightmares...."

Oberon got confused—as he couldn’t figure out which one of us was lying. Then finally, he turned to Celestia. "My child, did this Half-Mage really give you nightmares?"

"It wasn’t actually a nightmare, though," she replied.

"Celestia, why are you changing the facts now," Darius interrupted again. "You told me that he scared you in your sleep."

Celestia looked to her side and faced the cowardly prince. "It could have been a vision too! And I don’t think that he could have given me that."

She then turned to Oberon and said, "Father, I am getting strange vibes from this dark-haired man. I have felt like this for only one man before—and you know who that is. So I think that he is really him."

"And father, that is why I was beating him to bring out the truth," Darius said.

Celestia was about to say something, but Oberon shushed her. He then moved near me and touched my hand. That was one awkward moment!

I am holding hands with my mortal enemy. Who would have thought that a day like this would come?

While the rest of them were confused by Oberon’s actions, I knew why exactly he was doing that. He was trying to sense the powers that were running beneath my skin.

Even before his hand touched my skin, I let the little dead rock that was resting in my sheath suck out my powers entirely.

Oberon was not able to feel a little energy from me. He then let go of my hand and frowned at his children.

"This man is innocent! He doesn’t even have feeble energy in him; he probably has the powers of a Mage! Sadly, he didn’t even inherit his Fae powers," he sighed out.

"But father, that is impossible," Celestia said. " He really seemed to—"

"Celestia, stop talking now! I never expected that you would accuse an innocent man. And you," he paused and looked at his son. "You hit an innocent man? Do you know what kind of trouble you are in now?"

Finally, I managed to turn the tables and pin the blame on them. But I felt bad for putting Celestia in trouble—I never planned for this to happen.

"Darius, you made a big mistake by hurting an innocent Fae. So now I have no other choice except to reprimand you for your actions—"
