Gamers Are Fierce-Chapter 670 - 668 Majesty
"This idea of yours..." Li Ang scratched his head, looking at Chaichai's hopeful expression. "What's the thinking behind it?"
"It's to help you better control and manage the swarm," Chaichai said matter-of-factly. "To collect Divine Power, you need to remove the Brain Worms' intelligence limit. But if you do that, you're worried they might rebel and cause massive destruction. So, this is a way to manage them."
Li Ang felt a twinge of awkwardness. "...Will it be effective?"
"Of course," Chaichai said, a cunning glint in her eyes. "Worship is the furthest distance from understanding. Physiologically, the Brain Worms use human brains, so methods that work on humans should work on them too. I've thought it all out. You are the Lord of Flesh and of the Swamp. I will be your Saint, your Lady Saint, your Messenger, and your Leader in this world, holding multiple roles to help you manage the Bug Clan. The swamp will be the Holy Temple. Holy Relics will be your clipped fingernails and shed hairs. The Holy Grail will be the cup you drink water from..."
"Okay, okay, I get it." Li Ang waved his hand dismissively, cutting short Chaichai's enthusiastic explanation. "You mean to drive all the Brain Worms into a state of fanaticism to reduce the chance of betrayal? That still doesn't sound secure enough."
"I haven't finished," Chaichai said, rolling her eyes. "That alone isn't enough. As your Saint, I'll make all the Brain Worms monitor each other, observing who isn't loyal enough. In the future, we'll establish a Heresy Tribunal and an Alien Court. These bodies will oversee several units composed of the most elite, powerful, and loyal swarm members, preparing for when the Brain Worm population expands to an unmanageable size. You can also use the Divine Power Connection to communicate with the most loyal swarm units and perform miracles. However, don't do this too often; you need to maintain your mystique as a Deity. This way, the swarm won't dare to speculate but will only worship. It will make them think that everything you do, even just picking your nose, has profound meaning.
"As for the problem of Brain Worm betrayal... at this stage, the swarm hasn't expanded to an unmanageable point. They're all contained within the Pet Breeding Box, and each Brain Worm has very limited authority, unable to manage too many swarm units. So, we can definitely experiment. If it's successful, it will solve the Divine Power shortage and allow you to free up your hands to deal with other issues while the swarm develops on its own. What do you think? Will it work?"
A gleam of wisdom in Chaichai's eyes sent Li Ang into deep thought.
The plan does seem somewhat feasible, Li Ang mused. His time is extremely limited. Aside from his daily routine as a regular student, he has to research Alchemy, improve his Necromancy Technique, develop modification plans, breed Bug Clan units, and browse forums every day. Now he's also opened the Immaculate Furnace and needs to log on periodically to restock. He's so busy he can barely spare a moment. If the swarm could develop on its own, it would indeed be a good thing.
Moreover... Li Ang glanced at Chaichai, who was looking at him with anticipation. Truthfully, as his own level and strength have continuously increased, Chaichai's combat power, which hasn't changed much, means she can hardly help him anymore. She hasn't said anything for so long... perhaps she's a bit bothered by it? Maybe, hidden beneath that cheerful, seemingly heartless exterior, is a sensitive and tender heart...
At this thought, Li Ang felt a surge of emotion. He nodded and said, "Alright, let's do it your way."
"Yay!" Chaichai flashed a victory sign, brimming with energy. She rubbed her hands together eagerly, clearly serious and not just looking for something to do out of boredom.
Li Ang led Chaichai down to the Pet Breeding Box. He retrieved the Leviathan Brain Worm, which resembled a shriveled, transparent plastic bag, and placed it into a water pool.
The shriveled Leviathan Beast immediately began to absorb water and inflate, gradually returning to the formidable appearance of a Bug Clan War Machine. However, lacking plant tendrils and the metal framework of a vehicle, it looked somewhat deflated and saggy.
The Leviathan Brain Worm slowly awakened. Upon seeing Li Ang, it was about to let out a shrill scream but then remembered its Creator's previous scolding and clamped its mouth shut.
Li Ang placed his hand on the Leviathan's exterior, activated the Origin of Life, and added a skeleton and exoskeletal armor plates. Then he instructed it, "Go and summon the other Brain Worms."
"Yes." The Leviathan scuttled into the jungle on its centipede-like legs, moving with great urgency.
Li Ang had brought nine Brain Worms from the Shengnan King's Dream and later created twenty-one more using the brains of pigs, cows, and other livestock. Most of these Brain Worms, like the Leviathan, were parasitic within the cranial cavities of other Bug Clan units. A small number, however, remained in their snail-like forms. Moving rather slowly, they simply clung to the Leviathan's back carapace and were carried by it to the water pool in the center of the Pet Breeding Box.
Li Ang had all the Brain Worms, including the Leviathan, immerse themselves in the water pool. He also placed his hand into the pool to begin the transformation.
Several hours later, all limitations on the Brain Worms' intelligence had been removed. Now, their memory, observation, imagination, thought, judgment, abstract thinking, ideation, language, and learning abilities were all on par with those of ordinary humans. They were capable of skillfully using knowledge and experience to solve problems and, just like normal humans, possessed imagination and creativity.
Like figures in the creation myths of human civilizations, the newborn race was filled with an irrational adoration for their Creator, Li Ang. They imitated the Leviathan Brain Worm, prostrating themselves around the water pool in a circle, offering their loyalty and love to their Creator.
Through the Divine Power Fluctuation, Li Ang could easily sense the chaotic, primitive, yet pure and singular Power of Faith emanating from these Brain Worms.
"Slightly lower than that of ordinary humans," Li Ang observed softly, looking down at the Worms below, "but still within an acceptable range."
"Not bad. Their minds are simple, so they can provide Power of Faith continuously. That's much better than ordinary mortals," Miss Chai, now donned in a white robe, nodded and said. "Ahem, introduce me. Just follow what's in 'Chai's Revelation'."
Since she had decided to do this, Miss Chai was finally taking on a serious role. For a moment, she actually felt a little nervous.
Li Ang, however, felt no such burden. He stepped forward, pointed at Miss Chai, and declared in a deep voice imbued with Divine Power Fluctuation, "This is my most trusted and loyal Messenger, my incarnation in the mortal realm, the manifestation of my will. You may call her Lady Saint or Saint Chai."
All the Brain Worms raised their bodies, their newly expanded intellects struggling to process, and with utmost piety, they kowtowed to Chaichai, chanting, "Lady Saint! Saint Chai!"
These Brain Worms were still blank slates; they would believe whatever their Creator told them.
"Hmm." Clad in a white robe and wearing a coronet, Chaichai nodded majestically. She took out a piece of paper and intoned deeply, "Repeat after me. Chai's Revelation, chapter one, verse one..."
