Game's Extra: Starting With SSS-Ranked 1000-Death Talent-Chapter 66: Real Estate
Noa did say that it was time to sleep.
But the second part of his announcement gave the twins enough energy to play all night.
They danced, ran around the room, ate like pigs, and waited for the morning.
Aeris couldn’t stop them.
Neither was Noa any help, leaving both of them with a restless night.
Truth be told, they were also excited.
Buying a new house sounded like a foreign dream, but now that it was happening, the thoughts kept them awake.
Finally, the sun showed up.
Instead of going to the academy, Noa decided to ditch the first lesson.
’As a rank 1 student, I should have that much privilege,’ he pondered, and got dressed after a quick shower.
"Should we go to the cafe and eat, or should we just take a look at the houses?"
The words barely escaped his mouth when Sylas and Seren roared in unison, "Home. Home!"
Noa nodded at them, holding their hands.
Then he went down to the hotel and hailed a taxi.
He and Aeris had already reviewed the private residences and considered a few options.
The first destination was the suburbs with one-story buildings.
They were cheap options, costing exactly $120,000.
Yet, as an Ember, Noa could abuse his high-profile status and partially pay each month.
Of course, there was a limit, but it was within his budget.
The houses were pretty, with a peaceful neighborhood, good roads, and a great location.
Sylas, Seren, and Aeris were easy to please.
They immediately liked it from afar, even without going inside.
However, Noa was different.
Even though he was planning to buy an even better mansion in the future, he still wanted to acquire something more luxurious.
So he convinced his siblings to visit another location.
The next household easily caught his fancy with its classic, extravagant rooms and furniture.
’Every rich kid owned a place like this back on Earth,’ Noa remembered.
Unfortunately for him, neither of his siblings shared his view, denying the choice he made and urging him to consider other options.
’It’s okay, $250,000 was too much anyway.’
Noa calmed himself down.
Then he took them a bit far away from the city center, to a quiet place full of parks and nature.
As for the house itself, it was on the smaller side with five bedrooms.
It had two stories.
One was underground, giving Noa various ideas on how to use it.
The interior was modern but minimalist.
There was no extra sparking or gold inside, yet it was more lavish than the first house they saw.
A small garden and a garage also caught his fancy.
Even Aeris, Seren, and Sylas liked it.
All of them agreed to take it after a quick tour inside.
The price was higher than any other options he had checked, but it was the most satisfying purchase Noa had ever made.
While the down payment was $100,000, he had to pay the remaining 200K within the month.
The signing took another half an hour.
Seren and Sylas studied every nook and cranny in the meantime.
They liked the big toilets, of which the house had three.
Also, the enormous TV, comfy beds, sofa, and massive fridge caught their attention.
They couldn’t contain their excitement and discovered something new with each second.
Aeris, who was sometimes a mother, father, and older sister, was just as excited and happy with their current life.
Yes, she and the twins lost their identity, and it was tragic.
But, on the other hand, their entire life was changed since Noa’s awakening, and even though her heart was filled with guilt, she couldn’t help but be proud of her little brother.
Noa shared their happiness.
His family didn’t own much.
Especially when they were fugitives and had to leave everything behind.
So the moving out was a straightforward process, with no additional luggage or stuff to carry.
Still, the house looked empty.
The walls were empty, the floor and rooms had only basic necessities, and there was still more to purchase.
Yet Noa had no such capital.
The $20,000 was fairly easy to exhaust, and the training room he wanted to add underground would drain his pitiful wealth.
However, the Abysses still stood.
He could easily make money back, but first, he ordered some Italian food for the family.
No pizza this time.
Instead, he stuffed their stomachs with pasta and lasagna, spending even more on their happiness.
Nevertheless, seeing their delightful expressions, every dollar was well worth it.
"Two hours remain before the academy ends," Noa announced. "I might as well go. But I am going to ask you guys to start studying as well."
His last sentence was followed by long boos as the twins showed their displeasure.
As for Aeris, Noa darted his eyes in her direction.
"You, my sister, find something you need to do, or else we will have a long conversation."
He sounded demanding because he tried to sound like one.
"Booo!" Aeris acted like her younger siblings, but her pouty face was flashing a deep smile.
Now that Noa was finished with family tasks and had done something truly important, it was time for him to meet important characters and get on their good side.
The taxi ride was quick and comfortable, and before he even knew it, he was inside the academy, searching for his classroom.
’Today was an important day,’ he recalled. ’Instructors are choosing the students they want to cultivate personally, and if I remember correctly, the first groups are made today.’
Eagerly walking towards the room, he knocked twice before opening the door.
The same big white auditorium welcomed him, and based on the situation inside, Noa guessed that the ceremony was already completed.
As he was looking for an empty seat and everyone observed him in surprise, a female teacher he couldn’t recognize asked,
"Arthur Ashe? Why are you late on the second day?"
Noa smiled, still awkward with the name.
"Miss," he trailed his words. "Sorry, I had to buy a house today and couldn’t come."
He was definitely boasting with his arrogant but friendly voice lines.
"Can you brief me on the instructors’ names and their offers who want to guide me?"
