Chapter 111: Chapter 111: Peck

"I..." Lana began in a small voice; her cheeks were slowly turning red, while Mr. Crow, perched on Lana’s shoulder, widened his eyes and stared at Naina with alertness in his gaze.

Naina’s eyes dimmed at Lana’s hesitancy, and she gave a small smile. "I am sorry... I never considered that you were straight..."

As she was about to leave, a cold yet pale hand held hers, and she heard Lana’s slight, panicked voice. "Wait... I didn’t say no."

Mr. Crow: (; ꒪ö꒪)

Naina’s eyes brightened, but suddenly she looked uncertain and asked, "You don’t have to force yourself."

"I am not." Lana shook her head and said sincerely, "I am bisexual anyway."

With that, she pulled Naina in her direction; the way her hand held Naina and the action of pulling her close almost made Naina lose her breath.

It was sexy and domineering at the same time.

"Go ahead." Lana’s soft voice made Naina’s heart beat like a drumroll.

Thud! Thud!

Naina saw the pale cheeks offered to her and a beautiful woman whose eyes were closed.

What a beautiful sight...

Naina wished that even after dying... she could remember this scene.

The next second, she leaned in and kissed Lana’s cheeks.

Lana’s ears turned red while Mr. Crow was slightly furious, yet he remained silent.

He could feel the faint rapidness of Lana’s heartbeat and was relieved that Lana wasn’t disgusted. Instead... it looked like... she enjoyed it a bit?

So when Lana stated that she was bisexual... she wasn’t lying, huh?

Suddenly, Mr. Crow had the urge to tell that certain blue-eyed handsome man that Lana had kissed. He craved to see his reaction.

Will the mask of gentleness still prevail? Or will the hunter shed the mask and claim what he has been eyeing?

"Eh?" Lana’s startled voice broke Mr. Crow’s thought, and he whipped his head in her direction only to hear Lana say, "Let me kiss you."

Mr. Crow: (o_0?) No... what was going on?

Even Naina was taken aback; her ears turned red, and she almost had the urge to kiss this woman who was unknowingly seducing her.

’Does she not know how attractive she is? Or does she want to sleep with me?’

The last question made Naina feel as if she was on cloud nine.

Naina wasn’t lying when she stated that... she liked Lana. There was hardly anyone who could resist her.

At first, she had thought Lana was impulsive. One moment she agreed, and the next she disagreed.

However, soon she realized... Lana had her own train of thought. What touched her and even made her attracted toward Lana was... Lana’s desperation to keep her (Naina) alive.

For the first time in a long while... Naina felt as if... she mattered to someone.

Someone cared whether she lived or died. Someone who might shed tears if she died.

Though Lana presented herself as heartless, she cared enough not to see a human life die. Who can resist such a gentle soul?

Just as she was lost in her thoughts, Lana pulled Naina, and Naina fell straight on Lana’s lap.

"Hey... sorry to disturb you from your thoughts, but I genuinely think we don’t have time. So pardon me." With soft, jelly-like lips, she touched her cold skin, making Naina realize what the phrase "butterflies in the stomach" means.

The peck after peck that followed made Naina’s breathing hitch, and her face turned red at a visible rate.

Not wanting this heavenly feeling to disappear soon, Naina closed her eyes and savored it. Her body started to feel relaxed, and for a moment, she even had the urge to kiss Lana’s lips... when the next second, she heard Lana murmur in excitement,

"What the heck..."

Naina’s eyes shot open, and she stared at Lana in slight fear. Was she disgusted? Or did she hear her inner thought?

Shame and fear intertwined in her chest. Just as she was about to speak and apologize, she saw Lana staring at her (Naina’s) head with bright eyes.

Naina’s heart skipped a beat, and she thought in her head, ’I will bed this girl... if she continues to seduce me.’

Even though Naina knew that Lana wasn’t seducing her... Lana’s beautiful face and cute actions... could make anyone... be misled!

If only she had met Lana before... maybe... maybe they would have gotten to know each other better and...

Tick! Tock!

The sound of the clock hitting 3 o’clock echoed in the air like a curse. A jolt of fear surged in Naina’s heart, and she instinctively held Lana’s hand, who suddenly again started to peck her.

The little pecks made Naina feel a strange warmth in her body, and suddenly dying didn’t seem that daunting. She did have regrets, but... at least she made it with the person she felt attracted to.

And she would even have a romantic death. After all... only a few have the chance to die in the arms of their crush!

Just as she thought so, she suddenly felt a presence behind her, and Naina’s heart chilled slightly.

Thud! Thud!

Her body started to turn cold, and even with the presence of so many people around, she felt fear pulsing under her skin.

"Don’t worry. Everything will be fine. I will handle it." Lana’s soft assurance made Naina relaxed.

A peace she had never felt before started to spread through her body, and it was only then that Naina realized... the fatigue and the constant headache she often felt... seemed to have vanished.

Hm? Was this the last bit of strength before death?

On the other hand, Naina frowned when she saw that Lana’s face was paper white.

"What happened to you?" Naina whispered in a soft voice; worry was laced in her words.

"Nothing." Lana shook her head; her body was slightly trembling, and she stated, "Don’t rush near me during my fight with the ghost and..."

Once Lana finished, Naina was stunned, but at last she gave a complicated nod.

’Since she has done so much for me... I can at least help her deal with the ghost before I leave.’ Naina thought.
