Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence-Chapter 102 - 101: The Lost Knight Legacy
[Daily Intel Refresh]
[1: Count of Giant Stone Barton has led an Allied Army deep into the Jade Swamp. Eliminating the Swamp Demons is merely a pretext. His true objective is a lost Knight legacy he has learned of, located in the ruins of an abandoned Giant Dragon Temple to the southwest of the Jade Swamp. Attracted by the Temple’s residual aura, a Tier Four Magical Beast, the Mire Crocodile Dragon, has made its lair there.]
[2: In the Northern Duchy, a large-scale underground market known as the "Wanderer’s Market" will open in one day at the Three-Way Oasis, a lawless area. In the eastern part of the market, a wandering mercenary’s stall has a pair of old Gloves. Despite their worn appearance, they conceal a Legendary radiance. Named "Giant’s Grip," they are considered a Sub-Divine Artifact. These Gloves greatly enhance the wearer’s strength, and are said to grant a human the Power of a Giant, earning them their name.]
[3: The Light Holy See’s new Saintess, Freya, has embarked on a journey. Escorted by the Radiant Knight Order, she will tour the major Kingdoms to spread the faith and is expected to pass through the Thunder Dragon Duchy in about a month.]
[4: In the Western Territory, Baron "Iron Fist" Bartley has built a large underground arena in his domain. He has also purchased a group of Beastmen, Giants, and other humanoid Demons at a high price from slavers in the Ashen Wasteland to serve as gladiators.]
[5: Baron Bloodaxe of Red River Territory and the neighboring Iron Wood Territory have reignited their dispute over the ownership of a newly discovered, rich Iron Ore Vein. The two sides have already clashed in several small-scale armed conflicts near the Red River Valley.]
[6: On the outskirts of the Mist Forest, a rare Two-headed Chimera has been frequently sighted. It is expected to remain in the area for about half a month. The Two-headed Chimera wields the Power of ice and fire. As a mutated species, it has broken the shackles of its bloodline to become a Tier Five Magical Beast.]
[7: The scion of the Nine-headed Demon Serpent, ’Blood Throat,’ has led a Snake-man Battle Group out of the Jade Swamp and is invading the Black Stone Mountain Range. This will bring it into direct conflict with the Black Dragon occupying the eastern part of the mountains. A massive battle is inevitable.]
[8: Approximately 3,000 kilometers due north of Black Stone Territory, deep within the Black Stone Mountain Range, stands a Mage Tower. Its master is the Legendary Mage Wendel, known as "The Melting Furnace." Mage Wendel is currently traveling Beyond the Heavens, and one of his contracted Magical Beasts, a Red Dragon, guards the tower, refusing to let anyone approach.]
[9: In ten days, the Fiery Sun Kingdom will declare war on the Thunder Dragon Duchy, and a full-scale conflict is about to erupt. The Fiery Sun Kingdom is initiating this war at the behest of the Light Holy See. Their goal is to force the Thunder Dragon Duchy to fully embrace their religion and establish the Light Divine Lord as the Duchy’s one true faith.]
[10: While traveling to her territory, Lillian rescued a couple being robbed by bandits. The couple was the youngest daughter of the Baron of Sunset Territory—whose whereabouts were recently the subject of a bounty posted by the Baron—and her stable-hand. The stable-hand is actually one of the leaders of the Stone Crow Robbery Gang. His plan was to lure the Baron’s daughter away from Sunset Territory, then kidnap her and demand a massive ransom from her father. Unfortunately for him, during the "performance," they unexpectedly encountered Lillian’s group. After being "rescued," the kind-hearted Lillian invited the pair to be her guests in her territory.]
’First, I’ll go check out the Wanderer’s Market.’
Raylo had a plan.
’This "Giant’s Grip" is said to let a human wield the Power of a Giant. It would be a massive boost to my personal combat prowess.’
’As for the Giant Dragon Temple, I can go there after I get the Giant’s Grip. There’s no rush.’
"Moonlight, we’re going out."
Raylo spoke.
The large white cat lying on the plush blanket by the window lazily opened one pale golden eye and glanced at him.
It didn’t move, but Raylo knew it had understood.
After quickly arranging the territory’s affairs for the next couple of days, Raylo left the castle.
Storm Griffin King Baofeng was summoned. It stood tall and proud, its head held high like a sentry.
Sensing Raylo’s arrival, it let out a low, powerful cry, seeming quite excited.
Moonlight appeared at a castle window and, with a gentle leap, landed on Baofeng’s back. It curled into a ball, ready to resume its nap, even letting out a contented yawn.
Raylo chuckled and shook his head, then vaulted onto Baofeng’s back.
"Go."
Receiving the command, Baofeng let out a piercing cry that sounded like it could shatter stone. With a mighty flap of its enormous wings, it kicked up a violent Vortex of air.
Amidst the swirling dust, its massive body shot skyward like an arrow loosed from a bow, becoming a streak of light as it sped toward the southwest.
Destination: Three-Way Oasis.
A journey of over 1,500 kilometers was not an unreachable distance for the Storm Griffin King, known for its speed and endurance.
High above the clouds, the wind was fierce and biting.
Raylo looked down at the earth rushing past below. Mountains, rivers, and towns shrank into a miniature landscape.
The scenery constantly shifted, from verdant, sprawling plains to undulating hills and then to dense, lush forests.
After about half a day of flying, the sharp, ear-piercing caws of crows suddenly rose from the wasteland below, mingled with the pained and desperate howls of a beast.
"Baofeng, go lower."
Raylo commanded.
The Griffin King complied, tucking in its wings and spiraling downward.
Down below, amidst a sparse thicket of withered, yellow shrubs, over a hundred entirely crimson Demon Crows were frantically swarming an exceptionally burly, large-horned Barbarian Bull. The edges of the crows’ feathers glowed as if smoldering with tiny embers.
The Barbarian Bull was at least twice the size of a common bull, with a tough, dark-brown hide. The pair of thick, curved horns on its head shimmered with an earthy-yellow halo of Magic Power, marking it clearly as a Tier Two Magical Beast.
