Cole laughed wildly.

"I’ve worked so hard for so many years, and I was so close to my success. Why? Why did you have to ruin it all?!"

Olive was so scared that tears fell from her eyes, and she could feel the knife on her neck cutting her skin. However, she couldn’t feel the pain; only fear gripped her heart.

"Alright, fine; since you won’t let me go, then we will just die together! Together!"

He pushed the knife an inch deeper as he yelled that, and Rainy hurried forward to calm him.

"Cole, what you’ve done up until now were minor things, but if you commit murder now, there’s really no turning back!"

He sneered coldly.

"Turning back? I couldn’t do that even if I wanted to!"

She looked at the sobbing Larry beside her and the frightened Olive. She gritted her teeth and declared firmly, "This is all my fault. If it weren’t for me, my sister wouldn’t have rebelled against you. If you want to kill someone, kill me instead.

"I am willing to exchange places with her."

Hearing Rainy say this, Olive felt a pang of sadness. Never did she imagine that Rainy would be willing to trade places with her.

Meanwhile, Cecilia was about to go to bed when an uneasy feeling crept over her. Her phone suddenly rang, and as soon as she saw the message, her eyes widened!

[Cecilia, hurry and find someone to help. Cole wants to kill Olive!]

Cecilia panicked for a moment before quickly regaining her composure.

Alex had also seen the message and quickly said, "Mommy, I can ask Daddy for help!"

She nodded before giving the police a call.

After that, she prepared to head to Olive’s house.

"Mom, I want to come too!"

While putting on her coat, Cecilia refused Alex’s request.

"No; it’s too dangerous."

Knowing Cole’s impulsive nature, there was no telling what he might do. Moreover, seeing a bloody scene would be terrible for Alex.

Alex had no choice but to give up.

"Mom, please stay safe!"

On the other hand, Emma received a help text from her brother and quickly informed Steven that Cecilia needed his help.

Without a word, Steven called Zane over.

"Bring ten professional bodyguards and come with me!"

The bodyguards arrived quickly. Emma, worried about Cecilia and Rainy, wanted to follow but wasn’t allowed to, just like Alex.

With the bodyguards assembled, Steven rushed over to Olive’s house.

Back at the house, Cole outright rejected Rainy’s request to exchange places.

With a fierce look, he prepared to push the knife in completely.

Beside him, Larry saw his father about to harm Olive and quickly crawled over, hugging his leg while crying out loud.

The child’s heart-wrenching cries tugged at the heartstrings of anyone who heard them.

Cole hesitated for a moment, but then brutally kicked him away.

He then pressed the knife forcefully toward Olive’s neck.

Cecilia arrived just in time, giving him a hard kick and making him lose balance before he fell to the ground heavily.

With Olive freed, Rainy quickly came to her aid, checking up on her injuries.

Fortunately, none of her vital parts had been harmed.

She quickly wrapped a towel around her sister’s neck.

After being kicked down, Cecilia was about to subdue Cole. However, he had grabbed some dirt from the garden and hurled it at her.

She turned to avoid it, and in that moment, he picked up the knife on the ground and rushed toward Larry.

"You forced me into this!"

He ran over, the knife aimed straight toward the little boy!

In shock, Olive cried out, "Larry!"

However, he didn’t succeed. Just as the knife was about to reach Larry, several figures appeared like shadows. One swiftly kicked the knife from his hand, while another punched him to the ground. He was quickly surrounded and immobilized.

Steven had arrived with his bodyguards, one of them being the one who had struck Cole down.

Cecilia was amazed by their speed.

These guards were top-notch, each worth three special forces soldiers.

Steven had hired them after he got Alex, ensuring his son had the best protection.

As he looked at these bodyguards, he thought that since he also had a daughter now, he would need to hire some more.

Soon, the police arrived and quickly subdued Cole.

As he was about to be taken away, his face finally showed great fear. He struggled over to Larry, his face full of tears as he pleaded, "Larry, everything I did was for you. Can you understand me?

"As long as you say a few words for me in court, I won’t have to go to jail, and I can be with you every day. Didn’t you always want me to be with you?"
