Chapter 704: The Arrangement

The Zombie failed to control the explosion, and its whole head was covered in fire...

Of course, its internal organs were also incinerated as glowing cracks burst from its chest and stomach...

Then, the Zombie had finally reached its limit.

The Zombie staggered backward. It was burning, melting, twitching—and then it collapsed like a felled titan.

THUDDDDD!!

A shockwave rippled across the battlefield as the ground vibrated for several seconds.

This time, Tundra finally confirmed its death.

[ You have eliminated a High-Tier Zombie: Sonic Lurker King. ]

[ Congratulations! You are the first to eliminate a Sonic Lurker Zombie King, a high-tier zombie! ]

[ Hint: Only the first elimination of each Mid-Tier and High-Tier zombie can provide special rewards! ]

[ You have obtained the following rewards for getting the last hit: Spirit Breakthrough Potion x5, Instant Experience Boost Potions x5, Zombie Cores x500, Sonic Lurker King Zombie Core x10, 100mL of Sonic Lurker’s Blood, Pouch of King’s Dust x10, Sonic King’s Skill Scroll x2 ]

[ All participants have received the following rewards: Spirit Breakthrough Potion x1, Double Experience Potion x1, Zombie Core x20, Unknown Meat ( Safe ) x10, Red Iron Ingot x10 ]

"Wow... I already got so much even without looting its body." Tundra muttered after seeing the rewards provided by the system.

It was generous. Perhaps, only a new title was lacking, and it could be compared to a Zombie Lord already.

Furthermore, the reward system had changed as well.

"There’s also Sonic King’s Skill Scroll! Hehe... I wouldn’t be bad to get a Sound-Based Attack... Jillian will be surprised..." Tundra chuckled.

He liked the rewards he had just gotten.

As expected, after the Fourth Zombie Wave ended a few days ago, the world had entered a new phase.

The Zombies had gotten stronger, the Reward System had changed, and perhaps, there would be more.

He could still remember how the Wild Shelter appeared before as an ’update’ after the previous Zombie Wave.

Because of that, it was no longer surprising if a new type of shelter popped up.

’I guess I have to inform everyone about this...’

Tundra exhaled, falling to one knee.

His armor was scorched. One of his gloves had melted halfway, but he was happy with this result.

He looked at the burning corpse and chuckled.

"I wonder if the other shelters were also under attack..."

Anyway, Tundra informed everyone about their situation before he turned to the rest of the people.

He watched as everyone cheered, from the soldiers and personnel.

"You can loot it now, Sir Tundra. We have to remove the corpses and repair the traps... and also fill the craters you created." One of the soldiers said as he looked at Tundra with a helpless smile on his face.

Although he also wanted to celebrate, there were always a lot of things to do after a Zombie Horde was defeated.

They have to loot the Zombies, fix the battlefield, repair or even make new traps, restock ammunition, and so on...

"I’ll only loot the Zombie King. You can all loot the remaining Zombies." Tundra said...

Soon, the mechanics and medics rushed forward, tending to their comrades and repairing the damaged Warden Units.

In the meantime, within the Command Tower of the Eclipse Domain, the atmosphere had calmed.

The long negotiations were over. Reylin and the other Blood Talon leaders had finally reached a conclusion that satisfied everyone.

They wouldn’t disband their Clan.

Instead, the Blood Talon Clan would be absorbed into the Eclipse Revenant’s system as a subsidiary force.

Only a few administrative personnel and low-level members would be left behind to maintain the Blood Talon’s base and operations.

The rest—including combatants, elite mages, and engineers—would begin their transfer to the Eclipse Revenant, either permanently or as part of a rotation.

It was a strategic move.

Disbanding the Clan would have wasted valuable resources—Clan Hall upgrades, mission chains, reputation points, and especially Clan Legacy Skills.

They have already worked hard to upgrade them after all.

Shane, seated at the circular table with fingers steepled before his chin, gave a nod of approval as Reylin finalized the verbal agreement.

"Well decided. I’d have hated to see your Clan’s progress disappear into the system void."

Reylin gave a tired smile. "Honestly? Same. We’ve shed blood for that Clan... But I think we’re all ready for something greater."

It was for the best... Merging might be possible during the early stage of the Apocalypse since there may not be a lot of members in each clan. This time, however, the Clan Members were easily filled as more and more Survivors would want to join a stronger Clan.

Shane stood, hands behind his back, as he turned toward the towering windows of his office, gazing at the structures of Eclipse Domain.

"Then it’s settled," he said. "Anyone Level 40 and above—fighters, craftsmen, scouts—they’ll be eligible to join Eclipse Revenant. Below that? They remain with Blood Talon. It also means that I’ll be sending some of my lower-level members to the Blood Talon Clan. At least for now."

He tapped on his interface and sent out the initial structuring template for the Clan Invitation.

Just then, he noticed that there were private messages to him from Tundra.

"Interesting... The Sonic Lurker King... and it’s as strong as Zombie Lord." Shane muttered as he read Tundra’s message.

It wasn’t that surprising that Tundra was able to kill a Zombie at the Level of a Lord Variant. Tundra’s talent was simply that great.

Shane wasn’t worried at all. However, this message was also a warning to all other shelters.

Thankfully, Tundra had already sent the message to all other shelter leaders.

In the meantime, Reylin and the others also noticed that Shane was checking the message... Because of that, they also learned from their people in Shelter Two that they had been attacked by a small Zombie Horde led by a Zombie King.

Still, they all felt relieved after confirming that there weren’t any casualties on their side.

Then, it was at this moment that Cloud notified him of an emergency.

[ Zombie Horde has been detected by the Elven Scouts at Southwest Region. They have identified a new Zombie variant. ’It appears to be a cross between a Tyrant Zombie and a Spitter.’ ]

"Tyrant and Spitter?" Shane wryly smiled after hearing that. He could only imagine how that Zombie would actually look.

Still, this proves Tundra’s theory...

It seemed that all shelters would be welcomed by a new type of Zombie King. They had really entered another phase of the Zombie Apocalypse.

In a few moments, Shane’s radio buzzed as he received a report... This time, it came from Lucas, who was currently at the ramparts.

He basically had the same report, but he also mentioned that the number was low, and it seemed that they would only need a few elite Survivors to deal with this matter.

"We got this, Commander Shane! General Asad had decided to deal with the suspected Zombie King..." Lucas reported.

Shane turned away from the window after hearing this. "Alright... There’s no problem with that."

He knew how strong Asad was. He was the Rank 2 Survivor. Over the past few days, Asad was able to summon one Wraith Queen, one Abyssal Knight, two Mummy Lords, two Skeleton Kings, and five Dullahan Knights...

Since the shelter had numerous Warden Units, Asad had opted to only summon elite-level undead, leaving him with more Spirit Points to spare...

"I guess we can just finish the invitation..." Shane muttered.

Outside the towering walls of Eclipse Domain, the skies had begun to darken—not from dusk, but from the thick miasma left behind by the approaching horde.

The Elven scouts had not exaggerated.

The Southwest perimeter was now crawling with hundreds of Runner Zombies, Crypt Crawler Zombies, and Spitter Variants.

Still, they were all prepared for such attacks. It was even a small horde compared to what they had experienced before.

As the outer perimeter sensors lit up red, the Automated Turrets on the ramparts activated.

The Zombies were already inside their range.

Soon, their twin barrels rotated with a high-pitched sound...

BZZZZT-BOOM!

The first wave of Runner Zombies was shredded before even touching the outer minefield or traps...

The AI-controlled cannons adjusted trajectories on the fly, sending tracer rounds into the distant horde.

The Crypt Crawler Zombies were blasted apart before they could scale the barricades. Some Spitters tried to launch their Acid Spit, but they were all too far and they couldn’t even reach the walls.

Still, this rain of Acid blocked the vision of the defenders as they created a thick smoke as they landed on the ground.

However, with their huge number, it was not a problem to hit them, even with the smoke covering them.

The snipers from the watchtower only needed the general direction, and soon, upgraded arrows and bullets flew out.

Soon, Lucas gave another command.

"Switch to incendiary sequence!"

Then, a moment later, flames swept across the field as the Zombies were ignited!

And yet—this was only the opening act.
