Global Lords: My Heroes Grow Infinitely-Chapter 53: Tower of Trial
Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Tower of Trial
Rosen led the remaining army to withdraw from this forest, then patrolled the area within a five-kilometer radius around his Teleportation Gate.
Apart from the sparse Demon Race in the wasteland nearby, there was a forest where Demons could easily hide.
The most numerous within were creatures like crawlers.
Simply put, the danger around his Teleportation Gate was not significant, even if demons invaded, it would be within his capability.
The three goblins that invaded earlier must have wandered in from a relatively distant place.
Just when Rosen returned with his army to his own Lord World.
A group of people appeared in the forest with a large army.
The Fire Elf at the forefront was the leader among these lords.
He looked at the charred and exploded corpse of the Tree Demon Granny on the ground.
"Not good, someone got here before us!" the Fire Elf said angrily.
Previously, a new lord saw the Tree Demon Granny here and sold this information to them at a high price.
He and a few friends had long wanted to create a faction, but since faction Tokens were not sold on the Lord Market, they had to collect materials themselves.
And they were only missing the Water Wood Essence material.
Once they got the news, they couldn’t wait to come here.
Unexpectedly, someone got ahead of them!
"Boss, it’s the bodies of Beastmen and the Undead Race!"
"Not only Beastmen and the Undead Race, but also Undead, Tree Spirits, Little Elves, and Zombies!"
What the brothers saw, the Fire Elf saw too.
With a cold expression, he said, "It’s likely a group of veteran lords with strength similar to ours! They, like us, want to establish a faction and recruit talents!"
"But..." he changed his tone, "this underhanded move is despicable. We spent a lot of money to buy this intel, and this Tree Demon should have been ours!"
They had all incurred expenses for this piece of information.
Everyone present was indignant.
"Third Brother, when you get back, use Soul Search to ask that new lord who sold us the intel if he sold it to anyone else, and if so, eliminate him directly!"
"Second Brother, keep an eye on newly formed factions. If there are any, send the details to me. We can’t suffer this loss quietly!"
"Even if we have quit, we are still old members of the Heaven and Earth Society, and we must maintain our reputation. We can’t let this go without justice!"
That group left cursing and swearing.
For these veteran lords, capturing Rosen was all too easy.
...
Rosen returned to Lord World and went to the Undead Race Main City to get some sleep.
He woke up around eleven o’clock, hurriedly ate a lunch made by his mom, and then gathered an even larger army to set out again into the wild!
This time, he brought two thousand troops, circled the forest along the direction of the wasteland, and along the way, he also killed some scattered demons.
After circling about fifteen kilometers around the forest, the scenery opened up, the forest turned into grassland, and a green river flowed across the grassland.
Rosen transformed into a Beastman Cavalry, tested the water level, which hadn’t reached the black panther’s neck beneath him, and led his army across the water.
The oppressive summer heat gradually peeled away with the cool river water.
Unexpectedly, quite a number of Water-attribute Demon Races were lying in ambush in the river and launched an attack while the Beastman and the Undead Legion were crossing.
The Beastman Cavalry immediately transformed into a stronger hero, the Demon Hunter, whose Helical Blades flew towards the distant attacking water bubbles.
Water splashed several feet high on the river’s surface, and many shadows flew out from below.
They were river clams, to be precise, river clam spirits of a size larger than cows.
With that strike, Rosen killed many, though quite a few predicted his attack and escaped.
The river clam spirits fell to the banks, their shells opening and closing, revealing inside a fashionable lady in a pink swimsuit adorned with dazzling scales.
As the shells opened and closed, many bubbles spread out, enveloping Rosen’s army.
When touching the frontmost Skeleton Archers, the bubbles enveloped them and lifted them into the air.
After reaching a certain height, the bubbles burst, causing the trapped units to fall from the sky, inflicting considerable damage.
The damage wasn’t great, but the number of bubbles was immense, capable of attacking many targets simultaneously. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"All long-range units, attack!"
The archers and javelin throwers surrounding Rosen continuously fired arrows and javelins, bursting the bubbles in the air, and the attacks ultimately landed on the river clam spirits.
Some river clam spirits closed their shells in time to block the long-range attacks, but many more had their tender flesh pierced by arrows and javelins, spraying blood.
This type of demon’s notable feature was its defense; the shells were their strongest shield, but without them, their defense was almost nonexistent.
Several rounds of attack left the river clam spirits no time to spit bubbles, and they were soon all shot down by Rosen’s army.
A group of lords gathered not far from the opposite riverbank, having passively watched the battle in the river, their expressions unfriendly.
"Another lord is trying to cross the river; if this continues, the number of competing lords will only increase."
A large group of lords gathered here, seemingly waiting for some opportunity, reluctant to leave, and with a heavy sense of hostility towards each other.
"He brought a considerable number of troops, with the highest-level soldiers reaching Level 3, and Level 3 troops make up the largest proportion. He is a troublesome lord and will likely be the first target later!"
Some veteran hero lords remarked.
Having held territories for years, they could at least upgrade them to Level 5, or even Level 6.
The lords on the opposite riverbank brought mostly Level 4 and 5 soldiers, fewer in number than Rosen’s.
"I’m being targeted?"
Rosen noticed the fiery gazes from the riverbank for the first time, as if they wanted to devour him.
"Is there something on the shore?"
Instinctively guessing the situation, having another army meant more competition, especially since he brought such a large number of troops.
"Let’s go ashore and check things out first!"
Rosen had his Beastman Guards clear the way in front; given their size, any smaller troops were immediately pushed aside.
Once he entered the inner circle, he discovered a towering several-story Floating Treasure Tower, each floor rotating in the opposite direction, standing on the riverbank.
Rosen approached a nearby bearded lord and inquired, "Hey buddy, what’s everyone staring at here?"
The bearded man gave Rosen a cold glance and said, "Tower of Trial!"
Then turned away, saying no more.
Rosen immediately went to the Lord Market to purchase a strategy guide about the Tower of Trial.
[Guide: Attribute Points·Tower of Trial]
[Price: 3000 Lord Coins]
———
"The Tower of Trial, randomly appearing in any wild location, its specific origin and reason for random occurrences are unknown. It is known only that once the Tower of Trial appears, a five-hour countdown to opening begins. At the end of the countdown, the Tower of Trial opens, allowing only one hero to enter, who can be accompanied by a maximum of Level 3 soldiers and no more than three hundred in number."
"Clearing the Tower of Trial grants attribute point bonuses much richer than those from attribute point instances! The minimum attribute points are 300!"
"Note: All attribute points cannot be allocated to the same attribute; they must be distributed according to a ratio."
