God of Technology: Creating the Internet in Another World-Chapter 484: We Need to Team Up!
Viscount Roster quickly filled him in on everything he knew about the Tulip Kingdom.
!!!
???
Nidhogg was shocked.
"You sure you’re not messing with me!?"
"Lava General has been stationed there for a while now. We’re training troops to deploy over there too."
Viscount Roster took a deep breath. "Haven’t you noticed that the clerics we send to north of the watch wall tend to disappear from the battlefield after fighting for a bit?"
"Officially it’s to train new recruits, with these people guarding the rear. But actually, most of them get deployed to the Tulip Kingdom."
"You could say right now, all of our Church of Technology’s main forces are in the Tulip Kingdom."
"One world treating our world like a garbage dump, like a prison—that’s pretty mind-blowing, honestly."
Nidhogg was quiet for a good while, still finding it hard to believe. "I should go there myself and check out the world beyond that portal!"
"God says we should guard it for now and build up our strength. Now’s not the time to counterattack yet."
Viscount Roster shook his head. "Think about it this way—Lady Dream died over there. You might be the most powerful being in the mortal realm, but how do you stack up against the gods?"
Nidhogg fell into another brief silence.
Yeah!
Lady Dream died over there. The God of War and God of Wine seemed to want to understand what was on the other side too. In the end, one went crazy and the other vanished.
Was that really somewhere she could go?
For a moment, Nidhogg couldn’t find words.
"Can these clerics really handle it on their own?"
Nidhogg looked at the clerics flying in the sky, momentarily at a loss for what to say.
"Of course not." Viscount Roster said, "But I have total faith in Magic Conductors. I think we can build even stronger armies."
"And mass-produce them."
"When we face those enemies beyond our imagination, like that so-called Mother of Pain, naturally the gods will handle them."
"What we need to deal with are the executors under the Mother of Pain, and those pain-creating monsters."
"God versus god, mortal versus mortal—that’s the best battle plan."
"We don’t know what kind of supernatural powers their world has, but I do know one thing—in less than a year, I’ve built the most powerful army in our world besides you dragons."
"If you give us more time, our army will definitely get even stronger."
"So why are you telling me all this? Want us dragons to start preparing too?" Nidhogg asked.
"Didn’t you bring this topic up first? You asked me if it was necessary to deal with the monsters north of the watch wall. I’ve always been honest."
Viscount Roster looked at Nidhogg in surprise. "I just explained why we’re training these clerics."
"I don’t buy it for a second!"
Nidhogg felt like he’d been played from the start. Whether it was the former or the latter, the amount of info he got today was no joke.
Some things—when you don’t know about them, you just don’t know. But now that he’d heard about it, he had to do something about it.
At the very least, he needed to make sure he wouldn’t be so passive in the future.
"Tell me, is there any chance dragon language magic could merge with Magic Conductors too?" 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Nidhogg made up his mind pretty quick.
"What do you mean?"
"Exactly what I said."
Nidhogg continued, "Your Magic Conductors basically use various mechanical structures and runes put together, right?"
"Seems like the core energy storage runes were even taken from our dragon language magic."
"If that’s the case, then our dragon language magic should work for making Magic Conductors too, right?"
"Theoretically, yeah." Viscount Roster nodded. "It’s just that we don’t know much about dragon language magic. This might take a really long process."
"Cut the crap. You think I don’t know how efficient you guys are?"
Nidhogg scoffed. "I can send a few people who’ve mastered dragon language magic the best to your Roster Academy."
"Whatever Magic Conductors you develop using dragon language magic has nothing to do with us dragons."
"If you can develop them, that’s your skill."
"But I’ve got one condition."
"What?" Viscount Roster was kinda excited.
So-called dragon language magic wasn’t some combination of dragons + language + magic. It was a magic system dragons built using countless natural runes they found on Dragon Island and in the ocean.
Whether dragons, elves, or humans—all magic originated from the Goddess of Magic. The magic of all races was taught by the Goddess of Magic.
But that didn’t mean all races had the same magic.
What the Goddess of Magic taught them was more about how to find magic runes in nature, how to use these runes to build spell models inside their bodies, how to become a real magician...
Back then, this was absolutely groundbreaking.
Because magic runes were all over this world, everywhere you looked.
But before that, nobody ever thought these things could be used by people, let alone give them supernatural powers or affect their entire race’s future.
After learning the basics, dragons, elves, humans... through their different ways of life, explored tons of runes—some overlapping, some not—and used them to develop all kinds of magic.
Most of these races lived on this continent, frequently learning from each other, so overall things were pretty compatible.
The only exception was the dragons. They mainly lived on Dragon Island. Every time they showed up on the continent, they went on massive raids, so there was basically zero communication between them.
Under these circumstances, dragon language magic always kept this pretty mysterious vibe.
That’s why, before Magic Conductors appeared, people didn’t even know energy storage runes existed.
Even though over this past year or so, their relationship with the dragons had completely transformed, becoming friendly to an unbelievable degree, there still hadn’t been any deeper communication about magic.
Now that Nidhogg suddenly brought it up, Viscount Roster was pumped.
What conditions, whatever—as long as he could pull it off, it wasn’t a problem.
As long as he could get the dragons’ rune data, all kinds of Magic Conductors could see earth-shattering changes.
Hell, a complete upgrade wasn’t out of the question.
On top of that, because of this data, they might be able to manufacture Magic Conductors they originally thought were impossible to make.
