God-Tier System: Kill Beasts, Cultivate Forever-Chapter 50: Bottleneck
Chapter 50 - Bottleneck
When Harry returned, the receptionist bowed and greeted him with respect, which was one drastic change in behaviour.
"I want to buy some items for use. Can you help me with it, Mr?" Harry asked taking advantage of whatever image the person had about him.
"Mr Johnny Bethold, you can call me Johny; how about you tell me what you want, and I will send it to you in an hour," Johny said taking a note of Harry's rank for delivery.
Harry listed everything containing Qi replenishment pills, Healing pills, bandage etc.
Harry also requested for a sword of elemental master level 3. Not because that was the limit Gracie could use but because that was all he could afford. He paid in advance so if money was short, it's Johnny's problem.
Returning to his room. He was thinking of the new sorcery, he came to know about.
These artefacts look cool. If he was right then many people could use this sorcery on a basic level. He remembered seeing these skills engraved in weapons at a lower level.
It was already proof of how many people knew the sorcery. But beyond the basic level, he was sure not many people could make bronze, silver or gold-tier artefacts.
The higher the level of artefacts, the higher the cost to use it in the form of a drawback. Using it removes any type of natural power in the item itself, like those weapons at Liam's hometown.
Harry was interested to learn it since it should be easy to achieve basic mastery.
But now it was time for the Quest hunt.
When Harry reached the room he saw Tyler and Gracie practicing.
Both have developed their own fighting style, which Harry thinks, at best, is deceiving.
Gracie uses her opponent's movement to counter-attack While Tyler has an intuition that would tell him the next movement of his opponent.
"I thought you were practising in the tower," Harry said, entering the room.
"I was, but I had faced problems crossing the foundation-building realm." Tyler shrugged.
Gracie putting her dummy sword back, said.
"You hit a bottleneck. It is not common on lower levels, but almost everyone hits it before reaching the spiritual sage level.
Few people hit bottleneck before Elemental master level."
Listening to it, Tyler's face grew sombre.
After reaching the peak of the 9th level, he felt something wrong.
It was annoying, like he could see beyond the glass door but couldn't go across it without Opening it. That's the main problem, he needs to know what the door is.
Seeing Tyler's expression Gracie suggested
"It is not that bad, hitting a bottleneck earlier helps a person to get experience for the future."
"Haha..experience, I am stuck on foundation building level" Tyler laughed sarcastically.
"I am not sure, but if I am right, everyone has their own bottleneck. Some get through it by improving their will, some by increasing their battle art, and some by learning Emotions. It is always different and unique for everyone, you better try your battle techniques since it is the only thing that you are working most on". Gracie suggested.
"No way, my battle technique is best, and I don't think there is any problem", Tyler said, since he had some special abilities to anticipate attacks and see the future to some extent. There was no way he lacked in battle, at least battle based on skill.
"That's you to find," Gracie said shrugging.
"Since you are here, what about Liam and Blake? Did you meet them" Harry asked.
"I met them when I was coming out; The good news is that they broke through the elemental master, but they are continuing cultivation; they feel that they could move further," Tyler explained that was told by Liam and Blake.
"See, that's what I was talking about, earth has less to no dangers compared to other planets. Just improving cultivation won't improve our battle efficiency."
Harry knew but he was also not against it since just a mere difference in cultivation could render the experience useless.
A veteran fighter could defeat one or two levels higher non-fighting cultivators, but experience can't bridge the gap of four to five levels.
Harry heard a knock on the door and he saw another student whom he didn't know.
Foll𝑜w current novels on fɾēewebnσveℓ.com.
"I was given a task to deliver these items." He said putting the items down.
It was normal because most of the workers in the academy were students. In the cafeteria or in the market, everything was managed by students.
Officials only work in official departments. Like in the main centre or Quest house and teaching.
"Everything is prepared" Harry brought pills and distributed them among the three.
Tyler was looking at him with questioning gazes.
"We are prepared for what, please don't tell me we are going on a suicidal mission."
"Here, take it" Harry handed the sword and a space bracelet to Gracie.
"I don't have a weapon for you, but take it", Harry said and handed another bracelet to Tyler.
"Don't worry I have my weapon with me" Tyler said showing his fist, the Main thing he learned throughout this time was that he had the upper hand in using the weapon. He could make use of any weapon with not much problem using his eyesight.
"You didn't tell me where we were going".
....
Harry, Tyler and Gracie were standing in Quest house, perplexed seeing so many students there.
Harry saw the Quest board, it was not a board but a large screen with Quests appearing one after another on it.
There were simple quests like teaching young masters and gathering herbs, and some mid-level quests were to fight a beast or many low-level beasts.
A certain Quest intrigued him; its description was related to a pack of wolves, which was making it hard to hunt in the blackwood jungle.
The jungle was on the eastern side of the city of Safire.
They had crossed this city when coming to the academy, and the academy was on the western side of the city. To reach there they had to cross the city.
But it would not stop them from taking Quest.
Harry approached the receptionist. This time again, it was an old man. He remembered how, in the outer world, most receptionists were beautiful females, but here, he had never seen a female working as a receptionist.
This time, at least, the old man was not fat. He just had callousness on his face.
That calm face, like nothing can surprise him.
"I would like to take the Quest which needs to eliminate the pack of wolves from the darkwood jungle."
The calm face changed to confusion and then frowned.
"Oh, that one, I almost forgot since no one has tried it in a long time. You are quite brave, or should I call it foolish?" the man chuckled and showed Five fingers.
"What, you want money?" Harry frowned.
"Young man, Although I am greedy but 5 lakh credits won't help me... what I gestured is, this quest requires a team of 5 people".
