Chapter 698: Chapter 397: At Worst, I’ll Report to the Holy Dragon

"Who are you?"

When Jeddon realized that the towering presence that made him tremble existed only within his consciousness, he was instantly bewildered. An indescribable fear surged through his heart.

As a young member of the Dragon Clan, he wasn’t entirely ignorant. On the contrary, he knew too much. Generally speaking, such a situation did not bode well, especially in his current weakened state, which meant he had no ability to resist or refuse.

"Who am I? I am you, and you are me. Fool, I know what you’re afraid of, but I can tell you, we are one and the same."

Heliers gazed at this Red Dragon hatchling consciousness, which in his eyes was indescribably foolish, with a surge of anger. He would have preferred this creature to be a traditionally arrogant Red Dragon rather than an unconventional anomaly, especially since this being unexpectedly developed a fondness due to the whimsical actions of that Golden Dragon.

"Not only will I not harm you, but I will also do my best to protect your safety. If your life is endangered, I would not fare well either."

"It was you, you who injured my sister!"

In that moment, Jeddon suddenly realized, as he grew older, he became more puzzled by the battle he had no consciousness of during his birth. Now the answer stood before him. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"Of course, it was me. Without me, you would have been tormented upon your birth. Over the past few years, your sister would have continuously suppressed you, stealing your food.

You might even have starved to death. It was I who helped you, instilling awe in your sister so that she dared not bully you anymore."

Helios spoke coldly.

He hadn’t intended to intervene so early, but feeling that his Divine Soul Parasite was nearly killed at birth left him no choice.

Helios had just shown a slight performance; though it wasn’t his familiar humanoid form, handling a hatchling wasn’t that complex.

"You’ve been watching me all along!"

Jeddon’s mind was far sharper than Helios anticipated. This six-year-old dragon quickly realized he had been under surveillance by this unknown yet immensely powerful entity all these years.

"This isn’t surveillance. I’ve already told you; we are one. Everything you’ve experienced, I feel too."

"If we are one, then why can’t I feel what you’ve experienced?"

Jeddon immediately countered.

If not for this being’s sudden appearance, he wouldn’t have even known such a terrifying existence was lurking within his body.

"Because you are too weak!"

A look of indifference appeared in Helios’ eyes. If he didn’t rely on this creature for his existence, he would have already crushed this Red Dragon.

Unfortunately, he had no choice nor room to select, as too many Divines wanted him dead; those who hunted him were just part of them.

As soon as he showed any possibility of survival, many gods would be willing to go to any lengths to completely eradicate him.

"Who exactly are you?"

Jeddon asked angrily.

He was a Pure-blooded Red Dragon. Although his personality differed slightly from most traditional Red Dragons, the brutality and arrogance still ran deep in his veins. He couldn’t tolerate such an incomprehensible, dangerous existence hidden within his own body.

"You have no right to know."

Heliers showed undisguised contempt for Jeddon, even in his fallen state, with just a shattered Divine Soul left, he could indeed look down on this yet-to-be-grown Red Dragon.

However,

"If you don’t tell me, when I awaken, I’ll report everything to the Holy Dragon!"

At this moment, Jeddon also exhibited a spirit of risking everything, glaring at the seemingly fearsome, yet internally weak presence,

"You are mortal enemies with the Holy Dragon, aren’t you?"

"You actually guessed it. I underestimated you. But if you’ve figured it out, where do you get the audacity to report everything to that reptile? Do you think you can escape?"

Helios was slightly surprised as he glanced at the Red Dragon’s consciousness, not expecting this seemingly timid creature to dare to threaten him in return.

"I can’t escape you, and you can’t escape me either. Don’t think you can parasitize me and use me to achieve your goals. If you refuse to tell me anything, then we’ll face the Holy Dragon’s judgment together!"

Jeddon’s words carried a sense of determination. Even as a yet-to-grow hatchling, Jeddon bore the innate cruelty and violence of a Red Dragon.

This wasn’t only towards other beings but also towards himself. He was not bluffing; he was genuinely prepared for mutual destruction.

"That’s more like it. At last, you’ve shown some resolve that interests me."

Confronting the hatchling’s threat, the fallen Heliers wasn’t angry; instead, he smiled. This was exactly what he wanted to see.

Because as a coexisting soul with this dragon, most actions in the Material Realm would have to be led by the other, while he could only act opportunistically at moments of crisis, perhaps not even then, so this dragon had to possess extraordinary talents superior to its peers.

"Since you want to know, I will tell you. My true identity is..."
