Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 684: Spirit Style
Chapter 684: Spirit Style
Council Keep, Downtown Quarter.
Except for Brigham Flynn, all the other councilors had gathered in this building where all of the city's administrative work took place.
"These damned bastards must be throroughly dealt with!" Nylian Feno aggressively slammed the round table, his wrath visible for all to see.
It was understandable, after all. His daughter was present at the Duskfall Masquerade Ball. If things hadn't gone the way they had, her daughter might have become a victim herself.
Hammon McLeod tried to calm the elf down, "Councilor Feno, rest assured. We will do everything in our power to deal with the people responsible."
"Where is Brigham when you need him?" Nylian roared in frustration. "Hasn't he been dealing with the Umbra Thieves all this while? Hasn't he been warning us about the Red Fists for so long? He's sure to have intel on them!"
Talon Norwood, the only other elf in the council, couldn't help but chuckle, "He decided to be absent from the council meeting today out of all days. He must be really glad when he learns that we'll finally be going after the Umbra Thieves."
"Besides that, we need to address the issue of the new organization that had been secretly backing the Umbra Thieves and the Red Fists," Sabrina Benton spoke with a solemn look on her face.

As the Lord Marshall of Ravenfell, she was ashamed and disappointed in herself that she had allowed such a heinous organization to even flourish in the dark belly of the city. She had become complacent in her old age.
"Do we know anything about this cult?" Ives Ballard spoke with a grave look on his face.
"Not yet. Other than what we saw in Qamara's memories." Sabrina shook her head. Her eyes flashed with a dangerous light and she added, "But I intend to squeeze everything out of the Duskfall couple as well as the higher ups of the Red Fists that had been delivered to us by the… Flynn Magi."
Towards the end, she slowed down a little. She had great doubts regarding the Magi that had brought the top brass of the Red Fists to them. She suspected that these Magi didn't even belong to the Flynn Family, to begin with.
I must investigate their origins. For all we know, this might be yet another secret organization that has emerged in Ravenfell. Except, this organization seems to stand in direct opposition to the cult.
Whether they are enemies or allies, remains to be seen, Sabrina pondered solemnly.
Secret organizations keep popping up when the Grand Magus Tournament is just around the corner. Things are not looking good… I should seek an audience with Lord Blackwood and discuss this matter with him.
As the discussions continued regarding what had transpired at the Duskfall Estate earlier, the group of councilors suddenly felt a deep tremor.
All of them simultaneously turned their head in one direction. Through the tall arched window of the building, they saw a small explosion go off inside the city walls.
Daniel Ranzenberg, who had been quite all this while, suddenly displayed a ripple of emotion in his eyes.
The Uptown Quarter!!
Sabrina Benton shot to her feet and appeared before the tall window. As she witnessed the explosion in the distance, her eyes turned bloodshot from absolute rage.
"Who dares to disturb the piece of Ravenfell?!"
The intense burst of mana radiating from her shattered the window and decimated the walls around it. She took a step forward and launched herself into the air, commanding the armed forces in the building.
"Men, follow me!"
The next moment, the rest of the councilors looked at each other with dark expressions. Then, one by one, they followed behind Sabrina Benton, launching themselves in the direction of the explosion.
…
Inside Adam's spirit sea, Olin Barrett found himself frozen in shock. The aura that Adam's soul body radiated was in no way different from his.
"H-How is this possible?" He blurted out in shock. "You… You're clearly a Mana Liquefaction Magus! So how is the strength of your soul equivalent to mine?!"
This was completely out of his expectations. He had never heard of a case where a person's soul body would be one entire realm stronger than their physical body. This was simply unbelievable.
"I-Impossbile!" Olin involuntarily retreated. Fear crept into his heart at the moment. And when Adam's previous words registered inside his mind, the fear grew even stronger.
"Did you really think this was your choice?" Adam looked at him with the same smile.
"The Brotherhood has been fighting you cultists for so long. Did you think we wouldn't know what secret techniques you could utilize? Or how great the allure of a strong and pure soul is to you necromancers?"
The more Olin heard Adam speak, the more he felt terrified. His body started to tremble in horror and he immediately tried to exit this mystical place.
But much to his horror, he realized that he was unable to. He was trapped!
"This can't be! This can't be!" He screamed in panic.
"Every move you made led you here." The smile on Adam's face turned deeper. "I set the stage and you played your role."
"No! No! No!" Olin Barrett roared furiously. Seeing the blatant mockery in the youth's eyes and hearing his condescending tone, he was beside himself.
His eyes flashed with a maniacal light and he roared. "I'll kill you right here, right now!"
"You never had a chance." Adam's eyes narrowed and his voice turned cold.
"Now, Valerian!"
From the depths of Adam's spirit sea, a titanic creature rose, heralding the end of the necromancer.
ROAAARRR!!!
Valerian, in his glorious draconic form, flapped his wings and landed on the surface of the spirit sea right behind Olin. His towering form was so majestic and terror-inducing that Olin found himself frozen in spot.
"A… dragon?!!" He exclaimed in absolute disbelief.
The gray dragon coldly gazed at the Rank 3 Magus with his piercing topaz eyes. He then opened his maw wide and roared yet again. Silent waves of energy surged forth from the depths of his being, breathing death upon the man.
Olin Barrett found his mind stopped functioning for a split second. It was as if his mental faculties had been forcefully paused.
However, that was enough time for Valerian to swing his tail at the man, viciously hurling him toward Adam.
Adam, on the other hand, gathered pure spiritual energy in his fists and got into position as he saw Olin fly toward him.
Then, he unleashed a deadly attack.
Hand of Doom: Spirit Style!
SPECTRAL PALM STRIKE!!!
Adam's devastating attack pierced right through Olin Barrett's soul body.
With a shocked look in his eyes, the necromancer found his body disintegrate into fine white particles. He wasn't even able to utter a word before death finally embraced him.
Seeing that the residual spirit energy nor the soul being devoured by the white lotus, Adam confirmed that Olin, too, had signed a pact with the devil like most other members of the Cult of Bones.
Only after confirming that Olin's soul had disappeared completely did he snap his fingers, causing the island-sized white lotus behind him to become visible.
Adam then looked at the dragon standing proudly before him, gave a sly wink, and vanished from his spirit sea.
…
In the outside world, Adam slowly opened his eyes. He noticed that Olin Barrett was still standing right before him, grabbing his head.
Adam swatted the man's hand away and slowly rose to his feet. He looked at the lifeless eyes of Olin Barrett who had a look of disbelief and horror etched on his face.
With a mere push, the necromancer crumpled to the ground. Adam stood over him, his gaze cold and unyielding.
Bathed in the ghostly glow of the twin moons, his bloodstained figure cast a shadow that seemed to stretch till infinity.
Then, he spoke—his voice absolute.
"I have no limitations."
